Hideo Kojima finally reveals the final name of Metal Gear Solid V, and shows off the tech powering the Fox Engine.

We're sorry. This video does not have a downloadable version.
I just picked up MGS HD collection and MGS4(again for the 2nd time). I am playing MGS3 hd right now and I am enjoying this more than any game that has come out the past 2 years. I can't wait to replay MGS2 and 4 HD! I love all the movie references and the crazy parallels between MG Universe and our own world. The Metal gear Solid Games have so much more in terms of style, substance, and soul than any game out today. I love the references to classic movies and the epic cut scenes. Kojima just does not stop! I hope MGS 5 can still be good w/o hayter. I am a bit scared about hayter not voicing snake.
In the conference room comparisons, it's easy to tell which is real or fake based on the wall art; the fake wall art isn't reflective.
Yes but they was showing how the Fox Engine works and how fast and how much easier it is to create an environment not just how real it looks which I still think looks worthy to be in a game...
the textures are indeed amazing looking , hope they look this great on the ps4 release (sorry if it's gonna launch for ps3 I didn't know)
@chun-IDGAF-li if you only car about MGO u arnt really a true fan but a agree MGO>ALL xD
@LanceCypher @chun-IDGAF-li Metal Gear ONLINE was the most mind blowing experience in tactical espinage action, look it up in yoututbe: metal gear online.
Kojima has this unique feeling with his games that i am yet to find in most Western developers
ok ok gr8 game im sure but i NEED mgo. remember? theres nothing out there like mgo
@candy_man_665 WE NEED CREATE SOME SORT OF PETITION TO KOJIMA FOR NEWS ON METAL GEAR ONLINE.. IT WAS THE BEST ONLINE GAME EVER BY A MILE. he says people in uk and america dont like it but im from uk and i love it!! big part of my childhood
@J-myeong838 if theres no MGO i will be very VERY sad/dissapointed and i guess i will get a girl and get married and that will be the end for me.
Very good presentation.
The Q&A though was a disaster..... can't blame the translator, I didn't understand most of them either...
here's my theory.. the demo for ground zeroes... the helicopter and the burnt guy.. they left while big boss infiltrates the compound.. they attacked the mother base and then chico who was said to "Play as the traitor" serves as bait.. and when big boss finally returned, he saw this.. while kaz tells him.. that did he get paz and chico.. snake said no that's why kaz suddenly was angered and disappointed.. and then 9 years after big boss woke up from coma and the hospital was attacked luckily the guy in the horse rescued him but then they were attacked by the flaming horse .. but they escaped and went to kaz who now leads the new organization diamond dogs. that is my theory.. i dunno if it's dumb or what but i'm soo hype for this game.. anybody knows when will it be release?
We need a download link.I can't see myself sitting here and watching this for and hour and twenty five minutes
This is my theory.. The playable character in the tutorial is Johnny Sasaki (the guy who strangely looks quite a bit like Snake) from MGS4 and that's why there was no David Hayter voice. And obviously the naked snake/big boss character we see with an eye patch and some crap on his forehead smoking a cigar must be Big Boss himself. But if that was Big Boss, then the events of the game must be before MGS4 unless he somehow got revived? Anyways, that only leaves one thing.. where the hell is Solid Snake? My guess is that the tutorial level shown in the demo is not really the main playable character in the game. Or if it is, that it will be just like MGS2 where we play as Johnny/V (Raiden) and Solid Snake plays a strong supporting role in the entire game (Pliskin). Which would suck, so I'm hoping the tutorial is not truly who we will be playing as for the entire length of the game because V/Johnny/whoever he is, is definitely NOT Solid Snake. Hopefully Hideo is just pulling a fast one on us like always, and there will be some huge twist to where we think the Johnny character is Snake for some time in the game, but then we hear that classic Hayter voice on another character in disguise or something and realize the truth. Can't wait for this game.
@p0nder Its after Peace Walker and decades before MGS4. Your theory is completely wrong.
Looks like Kojima's still projecting himself into Snake (yes I know it's Big Boss). Now he can barely stand!
Just an observation, not a complaint at all. Will buy!
Some of the texture work in the Fox Engine looks downright real! Excited to see how the game looks when not limited on the PC!
@GamerX-treme You must be hoping this game doesn't look this good on the consoles then.
@FallenOneX @GamerX-treme Na.. I am a console gamer mostly.. Have a 360/PS3 and don't have a strong enough PC to run most of the newer games. It's kinda like the Crysis thing - just want to see what the engine can do when not limited - be that on the PC or on Next Gen Platforms!
@FallenOneX Ha ha ha. No worries. I reread my comment and it sounded pretty much like a PC fanboy troll. So thought I should clarify! I can't wait for the Next Gen systems to get here myself!
@GamerX-treme Ok, I see what you meant now. I first thought you were another person trying to brag about how great the game looks on PC rather than a console. I also play mostly on consoles, but am man enough to admit that PC games have the ability to look 10x's more awesome if you have a PC to support it. Sorry if it sounded like a dig.
I am continually amazed and in awe at the lengths Kojima productions have always gone to in breaking new ground and advancing technology when it comes to game development. So looking forward to seeing MGSV, what an awesome time to be alive!!
@snake90090 In Metal Gear Solid 4 Big Boss has a different voice when he shows up doesn't he? I think Kojima is gonna shows us Solid Snake and Liquid in this game....the trailer talks about the 2 ghosts and Big Boss has been in a coma for 9 years....and Solid had accelerated aging. Can't have Hayter do the voices for Solid AND Big Boss. I think it would sound weird.
Kojima, R U Shitting meeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee? no Hayter ? that voice was one of the crucial elements among so many others i came to love this character.
I kind of have the feeling that because of the voice change for Big Boss and because that Ishmael guy's face is bandaged, I think he might be George Sears aka Solidus!
My joy has turned to sorrow as I did not hear David Hayter's voice and finding out via his twitter that he was not even approached to come back. This is unbelievable.
@CLOCKWORKIAN Consider that there may be a reason for that - and also that no release date has been announced and a lot can change between now and "eventually"
@grey_fox1984@CLOCKWORKIANBelieve me, I have considered. Yet I find it VERY unlikely that they wouldn't have let Hayter know anything by now if they were planning on using him as an actor for the game. Also, I have read a few articles that have confirmed that Akio ?tsuka, the original voice actor for Snake and Big Boss for the Japanese MGS games, is returning. I do not see why this is something to not be vocal about, especially if Hayter himself is commenting on his lack of involvement. In fact, I think if anyone is concerned about this, that they SHOULD be vocal about it so they could possibly generate enough attention to bring back Hayter so a change CAN be made.
@CLOCKWORKIAN @Solidus_FOX_NY @grey_fox1984 i hear ya..there could be a deeper reason why hayter wasn't chosen...the ONLY hope is that it's another trick by Kojima and Hayter (but he shouldn't flat out lie on that interview he just did) the only positive of this is that at least it's not Solid Snake's voice who got replaced.. we all already got accustomed to a new voice of Big Boss in MGS4..(Richard Doyle did an outstanding job as Big Boss..I watched the ending again on youtube lol)..it doesn't like it's him from watching the gameplay, but I'm sure the new person will also do a solid job..(no pun intended lol)
@Solidus_FOX_NY@CLOCKWORKIAN@grey_fox1984I saw the interview as well. The thing that doesn't make sense about him saying that he wants this to be a new Metal Gear experience and wants a new actor to reflect that, is that Akio ?tsuka, the Japanese voice actor for Solid Snake/Big Boss that has been playing these roles for as long as Hayter, is confirmed to return.
Also, why would you want to make a new experience in the fifth (numbered, but it is almost double that) game in the series? Considering that MGSV is a sequel to MGS3, yet a prequel to MGS4, that should already confuse new audiences that it seems that they are trying to get. And say you are playing these in order chronology and all of a sudden Big Boss will not have the same voice for one game? Wha? Honestly this doesn't sound like an honest answer. Or at least, one that is not telling 100% of the reasons.
@CLOCKWORKIAN @grey_fox1984 gametrailer interviewed kojima about this...it sounds like kojima really did not get hayter involved in this at all...
