Great show as always Danny! let's all hope that Bethesda gets Fallout 4 out there, or at least the news, that it is coming soon... I can only imagine the wasteland with Skyrim-like graphics... so much fun blowing people to pieces....

Danny goes on a trip to our irradiated future in this Fallout episode of Escape From Mount Stupid.
Loving memories of Fallout & Fallout 2 ... Never really had the time and will to play Fallout 3, but after this EFMS episode and lots of positive vibrations on Fallout 3 here in comments below, maybe I'll try it after all. Fallout series is one remarkable and very significant edition in video gaming. I'm glad that it still lives in these troubled times of gaming industry.
fallout is my favorite series :3 i love this video.
Also I love gex! my cousin had it and we would play it whenever i came over
Wish I could get my F3 memories wiped like Jim Carrey in Eternal Sunshine so I could get that feeling again of emerging from the vault into the wasteland, knowing there are hundreds of hours of potential adventures awaiting me.
Fallout 3 is the best game I have ever played.....call me crazy but I have two game of the year editions with me and one of them has remained sealed since purchase
I really am glad both for the new Wasteland and that Fallout has found the new audience as well as the old.
Love it all (except BoS which was really just...meh) but I still prefer the isometric.
A shame we never got Van Buren.
Just started another modded NV adventure.
Game is just flat out fun.
Can't wait for Fallout 4.
Fallout 3 was such shit, the worst engine ever made, shit combat and one of the worst story lines ever.
I better hear some Fallout news soon, Bethesda has been putting great games out but you can only kill so many backwards flying dragons before you wish to return back to the return.
@Moegitto so its okay to milk this franchise? just curious because it seems like gamers decide on timetables and release dates... or think they should/do.
Fallout 3/NV gave me more than 200 hours of fun and exploring... definetely one of the highlights of this gen for me. Hope they plan on moving the series forward!
@Cappuccin0 Fallout 3 was my gift for returning back safely from a deployment to Baghdad, I still have that copy as of today. The HUGE strategy guide also, I wanted everything to do with that game. I got it because overseas we would play Morrowind for hours on end until we got 2 Xbox 360's in our activities tent (MWR). When I saw online there was a game like Oblivion that had guns I was sold, it was seriously the only question people asked "if this game had guns I'd buy it".
@mekentosh it's a possibility, although the Fallout world is mostly set in the future as people in the 50s saw it. Even if nuclear war does happen, I doubt we'll be hearing the same tunes :P
I like New Vegas better than 3. 3 kind of feels like senseless depression that looks beautiful.
The best thing about the modern Fallout games is shared with the Elder Scrolls games: the massive, beautiful open world in 1st person. There's nothing like the feeling you get when you just start the game and you've got the whole world in front of you to explore. Hard to believe more developers don't try to make similar games. Yes, you have other sandbox games with impressive worlds like GTA and Red Dead Redemption, but it's just not the same in 3rd person.
@Marty Be I agree, these is just still much to find and explore in Fallout 3, plus the DLC's in the GOTY edition, plus New Vegas with it's own DLC's. If that wasn't bad enough, thrown on top Skyrim with Dragonborn and Dawnguard, still have lots to get through before they release a new Fallout game.
@Dovahkiinknight @Jock9 no one said they did.. 'gaming backlog' is pretty broad if you ask me.
Thank a lot, Danny! I skipped out on Fallout 3(the rest were before my time) because a friend said its basically Oblivian with guns. He said while walking around he would think to himself "Shut up!!! You're supposed to be Lucien Lachance!!"
This was a pretty good episode.
I've always been interested in these games, so, if I were to play ONE of the modern fallout games, fr I lack an abundance of time, which should it be? And why?
@Gh05t_ Hey mate, for lack of time I would advise Fallout 3 in general, it's linear yet has it's moments when you can explore and such, get it on the PS3 or Xbox 360 for cheap. Compared to the originals on PC, and New Vegas I would think it's smaller world, and less gaming time to get through the main quests, side quests and of course the DLC's if you were interested. But it depends, some people would advise other choices, including Danny but take everyone's view into consideration and make a good choice for yourself when you have all the facts.
@adrianjarca @Gh05t_ everybody has its opinion, i hate New Vegas, i really dont like it, although i do love Fallout 3.
@adrianjarca @Gh05t_ Maybe New Vegas is better choice for Gh05t_ but it's a bigger world with more quests and more to do, with time constraints it's one of the least non-linear of the Fallout games.
Ohh Bethesda. Why you are so good at making amazing open worlds and yet storyline in all your games just suck so much ?
@Akozz888 How to make Fallout 4 perfect: Get Bethesda to make it and have Obsidian to do the writing
@moonlightwolf01 and by obisidian im sure you mean the writer and not the whole studio. which im sure didnt do a crowd sourced game novel.
EFMS + Fallout = EFMS 1, EFMS 2, EFMS Tactics: The Brotherhood of Shotsy, EFMS 3, EFMS Dwyer Vegas.
Am I the only one here that though Fallout 3 was incredibly slow and tedious and didn't like it :| ?
@Daian I do agree with you but in a sense that it was way to linear compared to Fallout 1 and especially 2. I remember playing Fallout 2 times after times trying to achieve perfect ending for all of the towns. don't get me wrong, fallout 3 and new vegas are amazing games but they do feel like oblivion. The worst part for me as a regular Fallout 1 and 2 fan is that there weren't multiple BIG towns like New Reno, Vault City, NCR, San Francisco. I still prefer playing Fallout 2 to playing Fallout 3.
@Mentao or as an alternative just mech games generically... no mech game stands king of the hill as far as games go.
Best rpg franchise ever. I loved all the TES games and then they made fallout 3 what was even better. The post apocalyptic style is fucking awesome and the grim storie's just make it even better. Can't wait for fallout 4, i hope they make it more challenging then the last fallout games or skryim for that matter. And maybe more survival aspect's and definitly a hardcore mode.
Nicely written Danny, you have a fantastic knack of invoking nostalgia in games I barely remember playing in the 90's
