To Danny and Tamoor - I just wanted to thank you both for sharing this very well-thought, unbiased, and respectful commentary about some of the references to religion we've seen in some video games.  It's an interesting and controversial topic in almost any medium.  You've just earned yourself a new subscriber - this is my first time seeing your work and I'm now looking forward to seeing more of your videos, reviews, and commentaries in the future.  Well done! 

I thought games were about having fun and forgetting all about the daily grind for a few hours. Your article/video sounds like you're upset that there isn't MORE religion in games. That's completely the wrong premise to start from. Most (I hate to use this phrase) triple-A titles today are more or less story driven, depending on the genre. If the story has a religious element to it, then fine, explore it if the story calls for it. If the story has no religious element to it, then don't bother. You're talking like every game SHOULD deal with religion whether it's part of the story/game or not. Focus, man, focus. If your point was supposed to be about religion in games, then you got way off track there.

Shame this video didnt say a word about fallout 3 It was a very inspiring game to me infact the whole story is based on revealation 21:6 I beleive games should be like fallout 3 they should be relegious and educational they should not PREACH a relegion but they should TEACH it. I also agree with Tamoor for instance this saying "I am alpha and omega the begining and the end I am the one who gives unto him that is athirst the fountain of water of life freely" was so much inspiring to me because I am a muslim too and in our holy Quran is this saying "He (Allah: means:God) is the first and the latest He is the apparent and inside (of everything)" the game itself taught me much and this sentence remind me that Islam and Christanity are so close to each other without preaching christanity I think that is the best way to be relegious in video games and all other medias

Great video. I learned about some of the imagery in Journey that I missed, too.

Then games should be educational regarding religions so we all don't become a bunch of racists but it doesn't matter if games are not educational regarding being a murderer, a bully or a car robber? Don't get me wrong. I love violent, bloody videogames. I just don't understand where is the line that sets the limit of what a game can and cannot do regarding morals and values. As a side note, these 'negative cultural stereotypes' in gaming are not only Islam-related. Actually, I think Christians are the most 'affected' religious group in videogames.

I think Tamoor's comment on subtlety is a good one. Right now you don't often see normal people doing normal things and oh yeah they just happen to be muslim. Let them eat cake like everyone else! If the cake weren't a lie of course...

Why do these videos not get more views and comments? They're fantastic. Danny's accent is my favorite thing.

I personally like commentary on religion in games, but it seems more poignant when it's about a made up religion since the message can be more broad. Games are still entertainment and until someone figures out how to make a documentary video game it's probly best to stick to general commentary on theism. PS - Which Final Fantasy do you fight "God"? I think it was Legend for Gameboy, but I could be wrong...and I'm not thinking of Kefka from VI as he was A god.
