These are GameSpot's nominees for the 2012 XBLA Game of the Year.
Mark of the Ninja. Although it's just a side-scrolling game, it's still the best steath game i have ever played
No Fez? Gee... Yet it's been another amazing arcade year. I only hope TWD wins this or PSN title of the year and leaves Game of the Year to a proper game...
I hope that Trials Evolution wins, but I have a feeling that The Walking Dead will, and if so, I am completely fine with that because they are both great games.
Dust should have been on this list definitely. It should have replaced Sine Mora. Trials Evolution was incredible, but I think Mark of the Ninja or Walking Dead will take the honors here. Spelunky already took platformer award, so I doubt it'll get another one. I don't know why FEZ hasn't been nominated for anything.
The Walking Dead won VGAs, and they can do it again. Telltale deserves it, that's for damn sure.
After that powerhouse ending, there's no doubt in my mind that this is not only the best XBLA game, but Game of the Year...on GameSpot, anyways, since it already won VGAs.
I just realized that i enjoyed the arcade games much more than the AAA games, just like last year my favorite games are from xbla/psn... + ck2.
I'd go for Sine Mora, sure it's hard, but it has good art design and is five minutes of dumb fun. Only problem is more people probably got the trial version than purchased the full game. MotN was not that five minutes of fun game.
The only one of these five I've played is Trials and I loved it. That said, the others all look fantastic and I've heard great things about them. Got to be tough to choose between them.
A lot of people seem to enjoy Minecraft on the XBLA, wonder why they didn't put it here.
@kazumashadow Well this are the editors picks, not the most popular but the best - in their opinion .
Why XBLA is a separate platform? :O If you really want to play like that GS, give us Steam too.
anyone that's played walking dead will agree that is one of the most thrilling games ever and it will make you cry
trials! I like that a lot.. even i do not own a 360.. i like the trials game on my pc, and on the phone, i like motocross, so its trials!
For me Mark of the Ninja but I doubt it will win over Walking Death or even Trials.
@contentxcontext We had that exact conversation during our meetings and decided that, even with some rough technical edges, it was still worthy of a nomination.
Surprised not to see a nod to Minecraft, it's had great post launch support and massive sales, in addition to it just being a lot of fun in the first place. I know it didn't originate as an XBLA game, but it's certainly left its mark.
The walking dead shouldn?t be here. while as a game its more than worthy, its got issues on the xbox edition that are just not as prevalent or apparent at all in the ps3 or pc editions and its inclusion just prevents several other games from being up for contention.
@contentxcontext It sold the most units on the Xbox and the "issues" are hardly anything you notice on the X360 version. Besides, it's a fraction of the experience. This is about the game itself, not how it runs on the Xbox, which runs perfectly fine.
