I wish something about the winners would be written. As it stands we get no idea what the staff actually thinks of the games or how they picked them. Just saying Tekken Tag 2 is our winner tells me nothing. I want to know why is it the winner.

Though it disappointed me on many levels, Tekken Tag Tournament 2 is my pick. I must add, as long as Virtua Fighter doesn't win I'm alright.
P4A should win this because it is combining two completely unlikely genre together into and excellent game and because it is doing something the fighting game genre needed to do long ago, to make the genre approachable and accessible to people that haven't played fighting games in the past for being near inscrutable for the uninitiated. That alone is a commendable achievement.
Have to admit though, I'd still want Tekken to take it either way so in the grand scheme of things it doesn't change anything.
SF x Tekken and PS All Stars should have made the list, just my personal opinion. Granted SFxT has balancing issues but as a game it offers everything SF4 does as well as way more fan service, all it needs is balancing. As for All Stars, it's severely underrated.
VF and TTT2 are my votes.
Also lol @ people whining for SFxT there, not even the FG community likes that cash grab.
It seems the people's choice award is for Tekken, and I agree. I haven't written it off for Gamespot's pick, but you're right that they tend to hold its intricacy and depth against it. Admittedly, I would never call myself good at the game, but I can totally pick a random character and ruin my less experienced friends because the entry barrier is so high, but it's a game one can really sink one's teeth into if they cared to.
GS will pick P4A cuz its user friendly and has an auto-combo system,though i'd like ttt2 to win.So much content!!

playstation all stars aren there cuz they werent released before nov 20th so they wont make this year cuts maby next year if they can hold up that long

Oh cmon.... Persona arena was a total lame , just to think about the story mode.... boring.
Tekken Tag 2 hands down.
SXT should be on the list for battling the GOTY out!
DoA5/TTT2 should take the win when SXT missed the chance to hit.
1 Like I really hope the most mainstream game doesn't take the award just because, well its named Tekken i mean Persona 4 and even Skullgirls deserve it much more.
GS gave Streetfighter X Tekken a much better score than 3 of the 5 nominees and the same score as the other two (8.5) but it isn't nominated? LOL what?
Although not seeing Street Fighter X Tekken on this list is kind of surprising, I guess we can say that this is the end of the line for Fighting games until the next console generation.
