    As much as I like this music and the game, I don't see where they were going with the contradictory "relaxing" feel of this trailer.

    I mean come on, the price a very good video card for the Pc costs is the same price as a console plus 2 games lol ... it is a nobrainer as long as you can get used to play fps with the joystick what i must admit it was a challenge at first but now i got the hang of it

    Gaming on Pc will not die as long as people will still be able to pirate games , me i prefer my ps3 , i just got tired throwing money in my pc so i switched to a ps3 for multiplayer games and a xbox 360 Elite for pirated offline games ... and i am proud of it anyway i have 16 games on the ps3 and all of them have online function, and on the xbox i only play games like Prototype,etc

    Same old Same old. The Viet Nam maps are too narrow and the choke points tight. the game rapidly becomes a grenade launcher nade fest.

    there is no vietnam map pack, its an expansion, and yea it is multiplayer only. This is the vip map pack 7, which requires an update to play. (the update is like 1.6 gigs and its called vietnam) and its well worth it.

    Sure those are great games but all of them can be found elsewhere in a near-identical form (only exception being X-Com). The whole point of PC gaming is either because you don't like gamepads or because you love superb graphics.
    PC gaming tech won't die and gaming PCs will continue to be made.But gaming on PCs is likely to eventually die out. As it is a vast majority of gaming PC purchasers don't use it as a gaming platform but purchased it because they are the best PCs on the market.
    I don't doubt PC hardware beating consoles sales-wise because every PC needs upgrades, not just for gaming and there are for more PCs worldwide then consoles.
    Almost any peripheral (within reason) can serve equally well with practice.It's down to who tends to use each platform, be it casual or hardcore.

    Nothing will happen because Steam figures are often released and are available.There's almost no way they don't take that into account because as you said it's practically the primary way PC gamers buy their games.

  • targetlkd

    Posted Dec 4, 2010 10:21 am GMT

    @MEDzZ3RO
    what do you think will happen when steam or something like steam is as assessable for the consoles as they are on the PC's? I'll tell you, people will buy them from their houses with their cards thus leaving walmarts sales low and having people like you saying "oh gaming is dead, look at these low sale percentages".

  • MEDzZ3RO

    Posted Dec 4, 2010 8:59 am GMT

    @targetlkd
    It is,regardless of how you look at it.Multiplatform games sell better on consoles,Gears,Battlefield,Call Of Duty...etc... all sell better on consoles,the stories the same for almost every multi-platform game out there.World of Warcraft and The Sims are the only 2 games that have a good amount of sales by console standards.
    Steam is coming to PS3 next year alongside the release of Portal 2.Digital sales are improving but they are in every media sector; that's no surprise the majority of the not-so great sale are digital.The "I think" you used is the questional item here; you may be right, you may be wrong.
    The peripheral doesn't make much difference,as I said most PC gamers are hardcore gamers whilst alot of console gamers are casual.The Wii-mote is said to be better aswell but because the Wii market is so casual you'd never know when using a gamepad against the majority of them.Percentage-wise PC gamers are indeed better; if they'd forked out all that money and weren't diehard gamers they have a screw loose.

  • targetlkd

    Posted Dec 4, 2010 8:28 am GMT

    @MEDzZ3RO
    PC aint dead, its far from dead, almost all sales nowadays are digital and most arnt even reported as part of statistics and percentages like you assume, do some research before you babble on about pc vs console.
    http://www.gamespot.com/news/6284840.html
    "Our Steam business is going through the roof, but that's again, not reported as part of NPD. So I think the industry is a lot healthier than just what NPD is reporting. "

    and yes mouse/keyboarders would own consolers in fps games all day.

  • GuavaciousV

    Posted Dec 4, 2010 1:17 am GMT

    PC gaming will never die. Purley because it is the platform that dictates what tech (Software and Hardware) will be running on the other platforms in the years to follow. I also rate that the total sales of PC hardware (Graphics cards, Processors, Mobos, RAM etc) probably rivals sales of consoles. As far as games go, there are some really good titles doing the rounds and more to follow next year ( Bullet Storm, Brink, X-Com, Dead Space 2, Crysis 2, Dragons Age 2 ) so you can't say that there aren't games on the PC. As far as PC gamers being better thatn console gamers, thats BS. Give anyone a conroller in a FPS and they'll get owned by the guys with mice and keyboards. So how about we stop whining, download these new maps and get to playing some battlefield?

  • MEDzZ3RO

    Posted Dec 3, 2010 4:32 pm GMT

    @targetlkd
    I didn't start this,you did by whining about BC1 not being on PC and by saying "PC gamers would own consolers all day in vs mode".
    A "war"?, have you any idea how ridiculous that sounds?
    It's not "bs" because BC2 and almost every multi-platform game out there now sells better on consoles, the majority of the market is on consoles; so percentage-wise they are correct.
    I never said cheap PCs can do it all,I said they could do everything you'd listed in your prevous statement (that didn't include gaming).

  • targetlkd

    Posted Dec 3, 2010 4:18 pm GMT

    @MEDzZ3RO
    screw off with your starting this console vs pc war with me, why should I state the obvious when your going to pick apart my sentences. I said it's bs that DICE can claim a consoler map as a #1 fan fav and here you are talking about how PC gaming is dieing and how expensive our rigs are then you say even cheap computers can do it all.... just whatever.

  • MEDzZ3RO

    Posted Dec 3, 2010 6:54 am GMT

    @targetlkd
    I don't think so,I know so.
    Any computer can do all of those things you've just stated,even cheap computers; all you need is a big harddrive.
    PC gaming is dying,I'm not the only one who knows that.Even my brother knows it and he's a die hard PC gamer.

    @Sergeant_

    Bro I believe ur totally right. DICE best since bf 1943..... Way ahead of the competition.... The only thing is dice was fair, while others payed for their ratings.... Look how IGN gave bfbc2 lower than CODmw2 which was the *%@(&#st game of the YEAR... Cheaters, run and knifers, exploit users and all other kind of junk.... To this day I believe paying for propagnda of ur game makes the sales.... DICE... WHERE ARE THE INMOVIE THEATER COMMERCIALS??? Would love to see some gameplay trailer before watching a movie... Keeep up the good work...

    I love DICE, and it only goes to show they ARE one of the best developers along side Valve;they give you your moneys worth. Its a shame how Call of Duty has been granted the title of "the best FPS of the decade" and how far away from the truth is that? Its a Madden series of the same thing year after year and they charge a significant amount of money for 5 maps when the people who bought the game should have already had those specific maps. In my opinion, regardless of this new content which is superb; Battlefield (of all series from 1942 til this day) is the best FPS of the decades. Now hurry up and ship out Battlefield Vietnam!

  • MEDzZ3RO

    Posted Dec 2, 2010 6:33 am GMT

    @targetlkd
    Battlefield started on PC because console tech wasn't up to scratch in 2002 and online gaming was still practically unheard of on consoles.Consoles have slowly but surely been getting closer to PC gaming tech,on release both the 360 and PS3 were matching alot of gaming PCs.Naturally because they're not upgradable PCs are ahead again but with all this extra power the PC's not getting games to put it to the test.Games look marginally better then they do on console.Proof of this is the 3 year old Crysis that remains graphical king;after 3 years!
    On consoles year on year it's been getting the games to push its tech.The PC isn't.It's a shame for PC gamers who've grown up all their lives on PCs but there is nothing they can do to slow the changing trends.As it is,alot of PC gamers now have a console too.
    Seeing as BC1 wasn't on PC,the number 1 map would be the favourite for console gamers;it's logical....
    Look on the bright side,PC gamers are getting play4free soon and you don't see most console gamers complaining the way alot of PC gamers do.
    We could discuss this for hours but they're not conversations that haven't been had before and in the long run won't change anyones opinion.

  • MEDzZ3RO

    Posted Dec 2, 2010 6:25 am GMT

    @targetlkd
    Alot of people have consoles,so it wouldn't of surprised me if you'd had a go at a mates house.
    My brother's a PC and console gamer,I know more then you might think about PC gaming. PC gamers aren't all hardcore pros like the steriotypical view is,like on console there are plenty of casual gamers.
    The fact is,times have changed;ithere are plenty of articles suggesting the same.Sales and profit margins are higher on consoles now,multiplatform PC and console games demonstrate this.
    Here's one of the many articles:
    http://www.devhardware.com/c/a/PC-Gaming/PC-Games-a-Dying-Breed/
    There are also plenty of mouse-like controllers on the market for the consoles,Frag-FX for instance but most gamers prefer gamepads,it's more comfortable,more natural.
    Most PC gamers will say "PC gamers are better" but think of it like this;PC gamers invest hundreds and sometimes thousands to get the perfect gaming set-up.If you're spending that much and you're not a hardcore gamer you've got your priorities wrong.Alot of console gamers buy a console just to have a 1 hour gaming session after school or work,nothing serious.That's why PC gamers will often state "PC gamers have more skill" because a larger percentage of gamers on console are casual,with casual skills unlike PC which has more hardcore gamers.

    @MEDzZ3RO
    I never did get a chance to play BC1 because it was only given to the console derps, like yourself. there's no acting, PC gamers would own consolers all day in vs mode, you have no idea obviously, we are better than you. but yah at the end of the day we all love battelfield but you miss the big picture, BF1942 = PC ONLY, BFVietnam = PC ONLY, BF2 = PC ONLY, BF2142 = PC ONLY, BFBC1 = CONSOLE ONLY, BFBC2 CONSOLE/PC.
    battlefield was established on the PC, they really lost me when they pooped out a new game and make me wait FOUR AND A HALF YEARS to be able to play a new battlefield game. then to top it all off, they say the #1 fan fav is oasis...... so I have all right to whine!

    Stop your whining,BC2's on PC.Why is it all PC gamers think they are somehow better then us console gamers?;you fork out alot more cash to keep your PC up to speed every 2 years then we do on games in that period.PCs has they're time being the best gaming option but with developpers moving away from PC and onto consoles that's changing.
    If you'd ever played BC1 online you'd know it was the best map in that game.
    At the end of the day we all love games,and love Battlefield,surely that's all that counts?

    hello ea and dice, I've been a fan since day 1, I bought all the games since the first release date of bf1942 but I missed BC1 because these fools put the game on consoles and not even on PC. so how is this a fan favorite? it should be called the #1 console favorite because all fans didnt get to play BC1.
