Once you get past the few remaining bugs, it's a damn fine game! Besides - it's 100% free which is totally in my budget

I am writing this review as I play the game, as a matter of fact. I am on the last hole of my match with some great people from all over the country. I'm only a level 15 (because they lost my password for my Level 35 and I had to start a new one) and my "competitors" are really helping me level up. It's a nice sunny day here in Midas Valley and the wind is calm. I just botched a shot off the last tee and into the rocks -- it was in bounds so I have to play it through. We all make jokes in the chat window and I don't feel so bad about it.

The game itself is simple in premise and complicated in execution. You're there to play golf. That's all. No bosses to fight or coins to find. You're just gonna play 3,6,9 or 18 holes a golf with some strangers, but it gets tricky when they introduce things such as points you can distribute to different attributes (i.e. power, impact, stamina and skill). You get 2 points everytime you level up and you can distribute them to whichever of those four skillsets you choose thus making your character play completely unique.

The other interesting part of the game is all the items you can buy to better your character play. New clubs, balls, clothing, gloves, shoes, energy drinks, etc. These can all be bought with money you earn in game called NG by winning matches or leveling up. Items are generally CRAZY expensive, but once you're in the 30's, you have so much money it's not an object anymore.

The other way you can buy items is on their website's Item Mall. yeah, the game IS 100% free, but if you just don't have the patients to earn your cash in game, then you can pay REAL money to buy FAKE money for items. I did it once and it wasn't all that bad. $14 gave me like 1,00000000000 NG or something crazy.

All in all the game is crazy fun. You can play for hours and not even realize it all while you're finding yourself genuinely interested in Golf of all sports. It's become such a major part of my life that last week I was watching The Ryder Cup and kept trying to Alt+Tab my television so I could check my MySpace page.
