Shinobi 3 in words is one of the best side scroller games for the old generation of consoles. The game has everything you need to keep you playing until you beat the game. The story line is pretty basic your village is attacked and now your out to kill the leader of these ninja who attacked you while stopping his army in the process. I think I don't really remember its been a while since I played the game. Anyway the levels are setup so that with him on a cliff overlooking a valley, the boxes of levels go from right to left showing what area your in. The actual gameplay itself is really quite impressive you can take multiple hits use shrunkens, special attacks, or your sword. The level design is what really drawed me in the levels are filled with booby traps unexpected enemies bottomless pits dissolving floors even land mines. Its these elements that make this game really challenging. Some of the games levels also feature you riding something a horse in one a motor powered surf board in another. (Yeah just so you know this game takes place in a era like Ninja Gaiden except Shinobi wears white). The boss battles: now this is where the game gets really interesting, some of the bosses can be really difficult I am of course speaking of that stupid electic dragon. Sorry lost my thought but yeah some of the bosses really put up a fight like the transforming robotic suit; deaths can happen quickly if you don't use your special on the boss. The sound in this game is great has a japanese ring to it I like it and the value if your not using a emulator its pretty long to beat and if you want to replay it but I liked it and I 'm done.
