Sepewrath, we designed it so that you can also use the system coins in order to unlock the StreetPass maps. We didn't want people to not be able to enjoy the challenge of those levels if they just weren't near other 3DS owners.
@Sepewrath Yeah I had to go to the mall where there was a Gamestop in Houston to find people with a 3DS ha ha.
Great way to get extra content as opposed to overpriced DLC. Though I don't know how well it works for people in places that aren't highly populated.
