This is a Racing Game; encourages clean racing environment... not some street wannabe drifter like Carbon or Underground
Shift 2 Unleashed takes the NFS Shift Series one step closer to Real Racing.... but for Gamers! What I mean is the game offers a really fantastic immersive feeling when using the new Helmet Cam. The game just pushes you to go faster, but this is not some Crash'em Up Underground NFS from the past.... and BTW RevD Crack... NFS roots were long before Carbon/Underground... look it up!
What is really Good about Shift 2U, for gamers that want to experience realistic racing environments:
Cockpit View/Helmet Cam: Best in Class... even First ever Helmet Cam that offers a more realistic view from inside the racers helmet. The Look-to-Apex is even more immersive than standard helmet cam offered in game like Race. Far superior than cockpit view in games like GT5 and Forza, and even GTR2/rFactor.
Content: Shift 2U offers great replayability. Run races in lower class cars and when you upgrade or use higher class cars, the AI keep pace' somewhat... but better than other games...like GT5 where AI is stagnant. Also all cars go from stock to full works versions… really cool to upgrade from D Class to A Class to full Works Class Models.
Additionally; Shift2U offers some great real racing tracks and some fantastic fantasy locations as well.
Graphics: Are very good and since the latest patch some small FPS improvements have been seen. Also, the AA has been corrected as well as SLI/Crossfire. Also, Shift2U offers full 100% cockpit view from all cars, not just select premium models as in other games.
Autolog: Shift 2U offers Autolog as NFS HP did. Now there are a few problems but this is a great way to compare your lap times to lap times of your friends which push each person to drive faster lap times.
DLC: though the PC DLC is not available yet… DLC for 360 and PS3 is available and it's a really great Legends pack offering new tracks and additional track layouts of famous tracks from the past including like 14 new classic legend car models.
Shift 2U is a fantastic racing game… SMS did a great job in developing a game that really puts you behind the wheel in the fast pace, consistent, push atmosphere of race car drivers… track specific race car drivers…!
I own almost every racing game there is for all three formats… from NASCAR 2003, Toca Series, GTR, GT Legends, GTR2, GTR Evo/Race07, rFactor, Forza series, GT series through 5, Dirt series, and many others not worth mentioning. If you like GT5, Forza3 and games that reward racing not crashing… than get NFS SHIFT 2 Unleashed!
