Good blend of arcade and simulation racing.

This game does a nice job of blending arcade and simulation racing, which is great for someone like me who enjoys both kinds. This isn't the type of racing game that is as deep as Gran Turismo or as wild as the recent Hot Pursuit, and that is where it suffers. Since it doesn't really fit with either one it has to pull elements from both and balance them in a manner so that one doesn't overpower the other. Luckily, Shift 2 does more to combat this problem than its predecessor by adding more events and utilizing the Autolog feature like it did in Hot Pursuit. If you are looking for a good, middle-of-the-road racer that you can't really go wrong with, I'd pick it up. It's a great game that you can pop in your system and blow 20 minutes. If you are looking for a complete experience, that will keep you occupied for months to come, I'd pass.
