Shatter is absolutely innovative, and has managed to become the only Arkanoid clone which is worth playing.

User Rating: 8.5 | Shatter (2009) PC
PROS:

* Original and innovative game mechanics: you can control the movement and rebounds of both your "ball" and collectible items by blowing out or sucking in air with your "paddle"!

* Levels change their shape! Some of them must be played horizontally, some of them vertically; some levels are square, some of them are round --this grants different difficulties and strategic approaches, and absolutely prevents you from boring.

* You got all kinds of blocks: the normal ones, the exploding ones, the hard ones that only break after three impacts... and the ones that float all over the level after you broke the ones that were sustaining them!

* Your score heightens by the millions --and there's a LOT of bonuses and multipliers.

* Fast-paced action.

* Amazing (though simplistic) visuals!

* OUTSTANDING soundtrack!

* Funny multiplayer modes.

* Intense boss battles.

* Different unlockable game modes grants you replayability and variety of gameplay.

* Runs flawlessly and right out of the box on Linux through Wine.

* Low system requirements grants you enjoying Shatter on virtually any computer.

CONS:

* The gameplay gets repetitive --after all, no matter what mode you decide to play, it's all about breaking blocks with a ball and a paddle.
