I got this game on steam for like 4.99 on a deal... Honestly this game is really fun if you have people over. Yea it might be repetitive, but as long as you play with someone else, it's always going to be fun. I might get it for PS3. Also waiting on Shank 2.
@tariq393 Have to agree w/ you here... Think he just needed something to complain about. Plus, and no offense... I was interested in the GS Review, but this dude's voice is "crass, lacks any sort of wit" and puts me to sleep! Lol
@Acid_Kenobi That's sold it then. I'm a huge Streets Of Rage fan, that game's no longer then 2 hours tops but do I still enjoy it? I sure do.
@MEDzZ3RO single campaign should only take 3 hours max, then theres hard mode too I guess. I had none of the real issues Tom said, yeh repetitive, but U show me a 2D beat em up that isn't, pretty original and overall a pretty brilliant game
A GRAET AND AWESOME GAME! why 6.5? just like dantes inferno which deserved at least an 8! i play most of the games you give low scores Tom McShea and guess what? they turn out to be great! and yeah! one last thing! how the hell captin america gets the same score as dantes inferno and this game?! coz if captin america scores the same as those two awsome games then u should review ur credibility for the sake of players who trust GS reviews! thank u
A Great game, nice level, artwork design & music. This is a very fun & refreshing game, no "button" issues, this is "Kill Bill", that's how the story & game play works....not concerned about the reviewer "viewpoint" His take on the game & his job to report it from his point of view.
@MEDzZ3RO The demo? It's just the first level and boss. Takes about 10-15 minutes to get through. Not really interested in buying the whole game though.
Honestly, what the hell is this guy talking about? I've found no response issues in either single or co-op modes. You do have to think about what you're doing if you're 1 trying to chain a combo, or 2 trying to simply stay alive. In my opinion the reviewer is an idiot who has minimal interest in 2d side scrollers.
Gahd after downloading and playing this..the only thing that I felt got "Shank"ed was my Wallet...FML.
This guy reviewing is stupid ive played this game and the controls r fine. This is a great game!! Cant wait 4 the DLC!!
@advanracer i think your right man they enjoy beating girls in games but in real life when they come a cross a girl they think hey i ran over you with a car in gta how did you came back ^^
@gamingfrendly :: Don't worry mate...they're playing Gears of War 2, God Of War 3, and GTA. They especially like how they can "Beat up Girls" too. XD.
Oh stop crying just because you can't play every game out-there you won't to paly in co-op and or MP! i.e. let's not forget there's still alot of us gamers out here who love to play SP-games/also!!!!
what r u talking about i played shank beside the co-op mode becasue there no online play on the gameplay & controls r find to me & yes i love the seeing the cut scenes on before & after the game starts i recommend on getting this game
I thought the demo was pretty fun. Sort of a throwback to Streets of Rage or Final Fight. Older gamers will probably appreciate this more.
@SauhlGood, I did not say Shank is too hard. If I gave that impression, I apologize for not being clear enough. Shank is actually ridiculously easy. I rarely died in the single-player adventure. I even handled the last boss my first time facing off against him. That's why I call this game shallow -- you do have a few different moves to use, but all you have to do is spam melee (with some gun blast and grenades throws) and you win. Kind of fun, but super repetitive.
wow the reviewer gives the game demerits cuz it was too hard for him... not coo i think its all relative, to what u consider tough. your review kind of feels like you dont really like the game to begin with.
This review needs to be stabbed, gutted and chainsawed finishing off with a shotgun blast in the balls.
Well, good thing they showed all the cinematic sequences.. Now all you have to look forward to when playing the game is action.
I actually played the demo for about 5 minutes this morning. I thought it was pretty cool, so far. Yeah, it's kinda shallow, but it looks great, sounds great, plays adequately, etc. However, I'm the type to really give a game a chance. Maybe, the learning curve and the timing of the moves has to really be thoroughly learned and practiced to have real fun with this title. I'm still buying it because it will keep my interest, regardless. I'll make it work for me, learn the ins and outs of the "laggy" controls, and master them. ***@ "x-2tha-z" ***: I agree with you about Scott Pilgrim. I played that for a little while when it first came out, but it was kinda slow for my tastes. But, another beat-em-up that is done very well is Castle Crashers! That game is addictive! Give Shank a fighting chance, pun intended lol.
i have been waiting for this game to come out since they first announced it. After watching this, my hopes were dashed to bits. i'll test out the demo later, but i doubt that i'll buy..
I had high hopes for Shank and Scott Pilgrim. After playing the demo's of both games last night, I decided not to buy any of them. I might buy Shank in the future, but only if it goes on sale.
Still looks cool. And don't trust IGN, the reviewer was complaining about the difficultly. What is the point of playing if there is no challenge to it.
Not sure on this one. IGN gave it a 7 and Gamespot give a 6.5. Then 1up give it an A. Played it and thought it was fun but not the best beat up I have ever played.
can't say im shocked. Wish something that had such a cool style to it was better tha it turned out to be.
