Not as awesome as it looks but OK.

User Rating: 6 | Shaman King: Spirit of Shamans PS
Shaman King Sprit of Shaman is a fighting game based on the anime series.

Story: Manta was a high school student who had a normal life (with the exception of being able to see ghosts).
One night when he wanted to take a shortcut through the graveyards he stumbles upon Yoh Asakura and later learns that he joined his class the next day.
When Manta went the next day to the graveyard he stumbles upon Ryo and his gang,
Yoh manages to fend off the gang and explained to Manta that he was a Shaman capable of seeing and uniting with spirits, from there their adventure began.

Game design: The game is basically a 2D fighting game. There are various modes to choose from like Story, VS mode, Team Mode and etc, but they aren't really so special since you won't get much reward out of them and they all generally feel the same.
The story mode is an exception, you will go through the entire Shaman King series, but there are many over skips making it very short compared to the actual TV series.
As you progress through the game you will battle characters and unlock them for other modes once you finished story mode, there are also secret characters that can be unlocked from other modes.
The game graphics is pretty standard, each character and their movements are well animated and there are also some 3D figured characters.

Game play: The game's fighting engine is pretty simple.
Every character has their own unique moves and combos so don't worry about any clones.
Basically you have quick attacks, strong attacks and special attacks, they can also dash and block.
There is a health meter and Furiyoku meter.
Furiyoku can be build by responding to commands that spirits give during battle. Furiyoku can be used as a shield or can be used to power-up special attacks and even perform other powerful special attacks, but they all involve serious of button mashing.

Sound: The soundtrack is pretty average and not so memorable but I guess it suits this game well.
There are also Japanese voice casts added to the game so you will hear lots of voices.

The game is an only Japan game so there are absolutely no English subtitles.
The game is pretty mediocre and doesn't really last for long, which is no surprise considering that industries don't often put efforts in anime games, or then again it could be license issues.
The game doesn't go as deep as in the TV series, not even close, so in case you were hoping to see Tao Len and Bason in giant spirit unity form you might as well forget it, in fact everyone will remain at their main spirit unity and won't get any better after that.
Character roster is also pretty weak, with the exception of different versions of Yoh the roster is at around 12 characters (including secret characters).
Overall the game is very average, Fans will probably appreciate it since there aren't lots of Shaman King games out there but others would be better off avoiding this game.
