Gamespot, when will you ever learn? These GCN, PS2, and XBox Sonic games are some of the best!

User Rating: 8.6 | Shadow the Hedgehog PS2
Boy, I tell ya, Gamespot rated this gem of a game pretty dang low. It's times like these that I start to get a bit ticked off. Shadow the Hedgehog is a good game, and don't take just my word for it! The game starts with Shadow contemplating his past, when evil aliens known as the Black Arms start to invade the planet! Shadow encounters their leader, Black Doom, who tells him to find and collect the 7 Chaos Emeralds for him. That is where you get the reins. You now get to choose his destiny by either doing good, doing evil, or doing nothing at all! And that's not all! By doing certain things in one stage, you get to go to 1 of 3 different stages, depending on which side you picked.

And I know you all wanted to hear about this, so here it comes: Shadow can now use WEAPONS! Sure, most of them can't truly be aimed, but there are also melee weapons to get, not just guns and cannons and bazookas!

The music is great, but not great enough to redeem the voices! *shudders* And this is one of the few things I agree with Gamespot on! Nobody really likes 4Kids anymore, what with their reputation-draining status and making the shows too kiddy. Let's face it, the only one from 4Kids that should actually be in this game is Mike Pollock (Eggman's new voice) and only because Deem Bristow (Eggman's old voice) died on January 15, 2005! But the music (as I've said before) is awesome, using both bands from the Sonic Adventure series and Sonic Heroes, and new bands, such as Powerman 5000 and A2!

The graphics, though a wee bit sloppy, are new, and the FMVs graphics look like they could be from a next-gen system!

There's also something most of us never expected: MULTIPLAYER! Okay, so you don't see Sonic or Amy go off and start blowing Shadow's brains out (in fact, you only play as Shadow and a handful of Shadow Androids), but they use everything that the single-player Shadow uses, minus the Chaos moves, because there are no soldiers or aliens around.

Like I said, don't take my word for it, just go out and, at least, rent it!
