Clinging to towering beasts, soaring through the skies, being shaken around like a bug. Absolutely epic.
Not a single other game or movie that I've seen can compare to the artistry in here. The scenery is just gorgeous. It's not the same beauty in other games like FF12. It's a natural beauty, like the scenery from Lord of the Rings.
The battles are spectacular and it's hard to verbalize the experience. Most games have you fight giant beasts with slashes like you're on equal footing, but here, you're clinging to giants for your dear life as they soar through the skies and flail underwater. The game fully captures the overwhelming challenge before you and the sheer scale of your opponents. When you're frantically running up the sword of a colossus before he swings it again, you'll know what I'm talking about.
However, this game does have a few problems that prevented me from having as much fun as I could have. The camera is so annoying and difficult to control. The game isn't as fun to play as other games and relies entirely on the awe of fighting giants. When you're fighting the smaller creatures, it isn't as impressive. The designers should have just removed the smaller creatures and put in big ones. I would have loved to have to climb above the clouds to reach the head of a giant.
I would highly recommend this game. Despite its flaws, the game has such beautiful artistry. You must experience the epic feel of fighting a colossus for yourself.
