Not a bad adventure game, but an overall peculiar feel to it chased me off.

Shadow of Destiny is, essentially, a point-and-click adventure that's centered around an interesting, eerie, time-traveling based story. At its essence, it has the right stuff -- a couple of interesting characters, a long running mystery story, and a simple and intuitive interface. But some odd bits of the design kept me from really bonding with it.

The good:
* Interesting and engrossing main storyline
* Good and pretty well animated 3d graphics throughout
* Not much meaningless navigating or backtracking, so the story moves along at a good pace
* Some very good time-bending puzzles

The not so good:
* Very sparse game world -- it's supposed to all be happening in a small town, but the very small number of people out and about just feels odd.
* Some really bad voice acting
* Awkward dialog segments where you approach a person, there's a bit of disc loading, the person says one thing while showing their clumsily animated 3d face centered onscreen, then another short load, and back into the game
* Not many locations through the game -- you are generally tightly restricted into where you can wander, which is good from a pacing perspective, but bad from the perspective that things feel cramped.
* Limited camera control makes some segments difficult because you can't quite see what's going on.

Again, some folks may well like this game because of the good story and time traveling aspects, but the clunkiness and roughness of the game might drive some away.
