Well my friend bought this when it was reduced on the Playstation Store, hard to pass up a game that was £20, and reduced to £8.

For a start i should say that this game is mainly based on online multiplayer, but it can be played offline against bots. Bots are also supported in online play, something rarely seen in FPS', except games such as Unreal Tournament of course.

This game is quite unlike any other i've played, you spawn by beginning a 10 second long descent into the battlefield, you choose where to spawn, but you can slightly adjust your course on the way down, usually its best to land away from an enemy base, as there will most likely be enemy AA turrets that will shoot you down. Once your on the floor is much like your normal FPS, the control scheme is similar to that of CoD, with a few minor adjustments, such as R2 to knife and R3 to crouch instead of O. Also L2 is jump, which i find highly frustrating.

Unlike your average FPS however, you will gain money for killing enemies and completing objectives within the match, this money does not carry on like most games, but operates in a similar manner to that of Halo 3's Forge mode, were you can spawn vehicles and turrets to aid you in battle.

There are various types of objects you can spawn, Tactical supply depots will heal nearby allies and friendly turrets, you can also spawn Anti-infantry, Anti-Air and Anti-Tank turrets. I believe there are 2 types of vehicles which you can spawn, a mech suit (heavy armour) and a tank.

I'll now break the game down into seperate sections and rate them.

AI: At first they may be challenging, but in a 2vs2 match against the hardest AI, you won't have much of a problem beating them. Luckily the game allows you to unbalance the teams so you and a friend can face off against 6 or more AI, which is a far greater challenge.

8/10, the AI is fairly smart, and they can see you from about 200 metres away, but they lack the sheer brutality of a human player. In a straight-on fight, you'll have difficulty, but if you attack them from behind, it'll be a couple of seconds before they'll bother responding.

Graphics: Nothing special here, some nice effects when someone spawns, as they fly down in a ball of flame and land next to you, sometimes damaging you. Turret/Vehicle spawning works in the same way. You can also see bullets in this game, when watching from a distance, it almost feels as if you're watching an RTS game unfold.

7/10, Good, not revolutionary, but good.

Multiplayer: Well we all know that the Unreal Engine's primary focus is multiplayer, this game doesn't disappoint in this side of things. It features up to 32 player battles, bots will work in multiplayer mode, it also supports playing over LAN. It supports clan tags, dedicated servers ran by Windows PC's and tournaments hosted by the games creator, TimeGate.

9.5/10, suffers from the poor server and bad lag every now and then like every game, but few FPS' allow bots and players, especially in a 32 player battle.

Sound: Can't really comment on the sound, i usually play with soft volume or no volume at all.

Gameplay: Well the game has 11 different maps, each with a few variations, probably about 25 in total, this boosts the games replay value. The multiplayer based gameplay also boosts replayability. The addition of spawning turrets that can change the course of a battle, as well as vehicles adds much to the gameplay value, and the fact that you can use thrusters to fly high in the air gives it an edge over other games in its genre.
