Section 8 is pretty much Halo for the PS3. I actually prefer this over Halo though. Every level is heavily team based. Which is actually a good thing. And instead of the old school "Shoot everything is sight and move on" there are actually objectives that you need to complete in order to move on to the next level. The only problem with that, is they are usually about the same thing with a different backdrop. But it's still worth going through the entire campaign due to the very solid controls and addictive gameplay. The best part of the game is the guns, there aren't a lot of them, but they all have a very good feel to them that makes them a lot of fun to shoot.

But with every good, there is a bad. The biggest issue with the game is the generic graphics, in no means are they bad, but we have seen them before many times. A different art style would have been highly appreciated.

- Team - objective based missions are a lot better than shoot everything in sight and move on
- The ability to respawn as many times as you want in a mission is actually very nice and tones down the difficulty

Story: 6/10
The story is quite lame, you are part of a ghost recon squad called Section 8, hence the name. You're objective is to stop the aliens from taking over certain places. Nothing special here.

Sound: 7/10
Sound effects are good, but the chances you will remember the music 14 seconds after playing it are very slim.

Graphics: 8/10
Not bad, but generic.

Presentation: 8/10
Menus are okay, nothing great.

Difficulty: 9/10
Its a very hard game, the reason it gets the 9 is because you can respawn as many times as you want, and the team really helps even out the difficulty

Controls: 9/10
Guns feel great, overdrive is a nice addition, and I love the jet pack.

Gameplay: 9/10
Great gameplay, although repetitive, everything runs smoothly and it a joy to play.

"Fun" Factor: 8/10
Shooter fans will love this game, but if you don't like shooters that much then this won't change your mind.

Should I get it?
$30 is a lot to ask for a downloadable game, so think about it for a while before you do. But if you find another $15 sale like I did, then pick this one up pronto.
