One of the many unforgettable games released by Square Soft.

User Rating: 9.5 | Secret of Evermore SNES
This was the first RPG I ever played and still one of the best.

It begins with a boy and his dog in the good ol' town of Podunk USA. The dog spots a cat and chases it down the street, into an old abandoned mansion. Unaware of activating a machine that is inside the mansion, the boy and his dog transport to a place called Evermore. Here they encounter strange new worlds with the themes of prehistoric, Roman, gothic, and futuristic.

Square ventured out with the sound track of this game. Instead of usual theme music and soundtrack along with your average game, Secret of Evermore have realistic sounds. For example: birds in a jungle, a massive crowd in a market place.

The graphics are and enemies are a lot more realistic compared to other RPG's made in the Snes era. The plot, the use of Alchemy (Magic) and the terminology used will have you believe that this world is real.

If you are a true old school RPG fan. You need to play this game. I guarantee you will not regret it.
