"Brain to big for skull"

User Rating: 8.6 | Second Sight PS2
Second Sight is one of those titles to sit down with and enjoy the marvelous concept it lays out for you. Free Radical is on a streak of fame with Second Sight. The company is a small European based developer which has made a game that is solid and will stay in the hearts of hard –core thriller gamers. Second Sight pursuits the theme of a conspiracy in the future. “Do you know your government enough?” Second Sight’s lead hero and character is a character by the name of John Vattic, he is an advisory and author of many books titled to genetic research and he likes to write about science and correspond with the scientific method. He is a well known doctor and soon enough he gets called up to assist a strike force into solving a problem that has been dwelling for over fifty years in research. Vattic at first only things that he will be a helper and producer for the government but little does he know that he is about to embark on journey that will bring out the power that is inside of him. Little does he know that he is about to embark with a squad of freedom fighters and nobles. As you move into the first parts of the story you go through training and Vattic keeps himself in very good athletic shape for a doctor. A smashing guy this John Vattic is. You move forward to a research facility in Siberia, where research is being conducted of evil spirit. Throughout the story Vattic has flashbacks and his thoughts go backward or shall I say forward into to the future. You start off in isolation facility having no clue as to what is going and no clue as to how you can telekinesis and use psi-powers to easily defeat your foes. You don’t know how you learn to vanish yourself and heal just by concentrating your inner emotions. Vattic goes along with his squad and really you start to embark in solid squad based action. You make use of the sniper rifle and you basically search and have a good time listening to Colonel Stark as you progress with you group into the alien country in search of a truth. For the good you break up with the squad and learn plans of conspiracy and wrong. Occasionally you do meet up with your squad and head forward into the story. Another key aspect to this story is physics which has such a great vision in video games to day. You see what the developers put into effort. In this story the lead character will have a good amount of psi-powers such as TK and healing and the power to project. You’ll learn these as you proceed deeper into the plot. So to give the story a finished feel you move and you discovery what you are and what is really happening. You discover the truth behind the philosopher. You have relations with your female advisory that also has a power of physics and travel protecting and having squad fun. You discovery curtly to innocent kids of Russia and flat out problems. The key is... Are you what you are? Is it the future or is it the past? I won't spoil the story but the plot is excellent. Game play: The game play is solid. You’ll be in third person most often and your shoot and search for clues and keys to unlock other areas and doors to go further into the environment. All makes it fun with a lush environment and a dark feel to for touchy atmosphere. You’ll be able to use a slew of weapons such as shotguns and pistols and SMG’s to snipers. The most key thing to Second Sight would have to be the physic lay out. You’ll use pleasurable abilities to move on to the next areas. From throwing humans in mid air to using psi-attacks that devastate a foe. Also make sure you use the system to pull switches and coordinate with the environment. It’s very key. Projection; an exact replica of you to pull a distance switch or elevator cord to talking over an enemy and fooling with them. You’ll find ways to impress but it’s so much you can do. The game play is great. The sound is probably something that drives you to deep extent. The sound is great. Just tracks of ambient and thrilling orchestra vibes that fit the story very well. It captures the intensity and the chrismal of the plot. The music is to basically die for. It’s good from my views. The characters voice dialogues all sound ready and smooth. The gun fire sounds perfect and the estimates of foes dying and sound effects have as clear effect. Everything is touchy and has a good theme. The AI will give you a challenge if you want one. You can choose from tow difficulty settings. Normal and challenging, this is a plus. So you don’t have to worry about your foes slacking off. They will take depths to lay you out in blood but seeing as the warrior you are you’ll try enforcing the same law. The presentation is well brought out and you feel as you are John Vattic in this world full of destruction, treason, corruption and deception. I would like to add that you can as well find little mini games which you can play once you find them in the game. You can play them via John’s PDA, which is accessed by the pause or start screen. Second Sight is a great game and should not be passed up by any thriller/action adventure gamer that is looking for a fantastic story. It doesn’t have much replay value but the concept it to love. The only problem I had with this one is that I feel it is WAY to short. I wish it was longer. I mean if you pull to it you can finish it over a weekend;however, not selling this game short. This game is a gem and will remain a dark stone bolted in the hearts of the video game industry.
