A solid puzzle/platformer that could have done better with controls, but overall a fun game.

User Rating: 8 | Scribblenauts DS
Learning Curve: 0 to 30 minutes
Presentation: 7.5
The presentation of this game is pretty. Everything looks and sounds okay, and there is a whole world just for the tutorial, which is later accessible, even after you've completed it at the start of the game.
Graphics: 8.3
The game developers (5TH CELL) must have really worked hard to make all of the different sprites, even though some are the same for different objects. The art style is clean and really goes with the overall feel of the game. But the graphics in general are normal for the DS, nothing really extraordinary.
Sound: 7.9
The sound is ok. Once again, some sprites of different things make the same sounds. The music is cheery but often gets annoying.
Gameplay: 8.5
The overall concept: Write Anything. Solve Everything. It works well, although I believe it could have been executed far better. The main (and really the only) problem in this game is the controls. Everything is stylus controlled. This can be a problem because if you are trying to touch an item you summoned it is hard because instead of picking up the item and using it, Maxwell will jump of all over the screen like a goddamn jackrabbit. But really it doesn't get in the way of the gameplay to much.
Replay Value: 9.0
Scribblenauts (surprisingly) comes with a lot of content. You get over 200 levels in all, each of which you mush complete four times with all new items to gold star.

Overall I think Scribblenauts is a great game. Maybe not a must have, but definitely the start of something great.
