The real reason for why old-school games are (were) a dying breed.
I will rephrase this one if I may -
"Scratches is a walking, talking example of why most developers have either long since given up on adventure games, or have committed themselves to twisting the genre into new and more relevant shapes."
And would say that - people like this reviewer are a walking, talking example of why most developers have... given up on adventure games...
P.S. By the looks of it, quests are not yet dead. Plenty of new titles are released recently and it makes me so happy.
