If you miss the good old 2D/8 Bit days, you'll be taking a trip down to memory lane.

The Bottom Line:
"Old-school"
If you havn't seen the movie or read the Graphic Novals yet like I have. Scott Pilgrim Vs The World is a downloadable title which you can download of PSN or Xbox Live. This was released around the same time as movie was released this year back around Summer.

Anyone who don't know what the plot is, Scott must defeat Ramona's seven evil ex-boyfriends in order to get more closer to Ramona. You'll be travelling through 7 worlds in the game, if your a fan of the series you'll be getting the most out of the game with alot of surprises and features being added.

Gameplay: If you've played through games like Streets of Rage and Final Fight series back in late 80's and 90s you'll be taking a trip back down to memory lane. If you weren't around that time or never played any beat-em-up games for the NES or the Sega Megadrive, Scott Pilgrim Vs The World is a side-scroller game you'll be fighting your way through 7 worlds.

During gameplay you'll be beating up random enemies who are random gang-members, rockers, ninja's, robots, and even zombies. It does have an RPG mix to it if you notice the Health bar on the Top left of your screen shows you your HP and Gut Points. If you get knocked out your Gut Points will help you re-cover your health or use your Guts to pull of powerful spin attack. You can pick up weapons like a baseball bat or a trash can to do some damage to enemies.

The more you fight you'll be able to level up more and you'll unlock and learn new fighting movies which can become handy to. At the end of each stage/world you'll be thrown into a Boss Battle where you'll have to take them out in order to get to the next level and a little closer to Romona.

Graphics and Sound: Half the time you wish that most games could be in 8-bit again because Scott Pilgrim Vs The World has some of the best 8-bit/ sprites you'll see but on a downable title. If you did own a NES or MegaDrive it would more classic memories for you, however this a side-scroller game which does have arcade elements added in you'd be wishing you would want more content to the game.

Scott Pilgrim will also have alot of video game references from the mystery boxes from the Super Mario series or the Green Pipes and it's world map from Mario Bros 3 during the world map. You won't find any camera problems any where but enemies may appear randomly out of no where if your not careful.

There is no voiceing but you'll hear the word K.O at the end of each boss fight. The soundtrack plays a great touch of it's 2D roots and may get the level tunes stuck in your head but really catchy to listen too.

Overall: There is Trophie support for this game 1 or 2 trophies will be tricky to get. However you can't play this game online which could have been added and could have been a great idea where 4 players online can play togethor and blast there way through the game. You can play Co-op with a friend offline you can play up to 4 players but working as team can either be fun or not fun for you. What I really liked about the game was its 8 Bit sprites art and visuals which made me want more and more out of this game.

If your not a fan of the series as I am it's totally worth checking out if you miss the good old days of 8-bit gaming, there is a demo if you want to play it before buying the full game if your not to sure about getting.
