Scott Pilgrim is game that has the same beat em up action but puts some new elements that are actually pretty good!

now I loved the graphic novels and the movie, and a videogame tie-in was sure to come. But, Scott Pilgrim vs. The World is a great game.

First off the story is all from the graphic novels as well as the graphics, with some added turns in level design to make more sense. So Scott is an average 23 year old who is dating Knives Chau, a Asian high school girl. He meets Ramona Flowers and immediately falls in love. To date her though, Scott has to get past her 7 evil ex's. The levels range from a snowy street in Toronto to nightclubs, all of which have their own set of diverse enemies, like for example, in the second level, which is a film set, there are crazed fans and paparazzi, a very creative enemy set. Ok I'll warn you know, this game is very hard, and multiplayer only makes it harder because more enemies come. This isn't a bad thing because the game has many checkpoints and in multiplayer players who aren't revived by their buddy can steal one of their lives and come back. There is also a currency system, based on Canadian coins, which can be used at the many stores scattered across the map. These stores range from buying food to increase your health to buying books to train your stats. There are also some secret shops, like Wallace's Magic Shop, which have special, expensive items that really help in battle, like say a bionic arm. There is also a leveling system in here that gives more moves, like a counter-attack or a barrel roll to get away from stronger enemies if your low on health. The boss fights are extremely hard, ranging from emo warlocks to super fast ninjas.

Multiplayer is a main component of the game, but lets start by saying there is no online co-op, just local. They make up for this by no splitscreen. There was also a recent DLC that grants two new game modes called battle royale and dodgeball, two new vs. modes. Another thing I hate, human weapons. Yes, if a buddy is down, you can use him as a weapon. Very annoying.

Goods-Great multilpayer modes, great story, great gameplay

Bads-No online, stealing lives from buddies, human weapons.
