Scott Pilgrim delivers the one of the best multiplayer experiences, but fails to have good single player.

User Rating: 8 | Scott Pilgrim vs. the World: The Game PS3
Scott Pilgrim vs the World is a classic throwback to classic beat'em ups suc as Streets of Rage and River City Ransom, with multiplayer thrown into the mix. The multiplayer is almost perfect, but lacks a good single player campaign.

Gameplay: 8
Scott Pilgrim harkens back to the days of old beat'em ups to make a simple control scheme that works perfectly. The only problem with the gameplay is the moronic enemies that only use cheap tactics and overuse long range attacks to drain your health. When going alone, the game is trial and error, but friends can even out the battlefield in multiplayer. The game still provides a challenge in multiplayer, but if you don't have any friends that are willing to sit in on a couch with you, get ready to beat some of the same levels over and over again. Single player isn't bad, but get ready to spend extra time leveling up and getting money. Thankfully, you can buy items to upgrade your character. The only problem with buying items is that you can't really see what you're buying. You have to actually buy the item before you know what it does. This becomes extremely frustrating, especially when buying the expensive items. Once you get past the first few levels, the game gives you more powerful moves to destroy the enemies with, and that's when the game finally starts getting exciting in single player. The boss fights in the game are absolutely amazing, and your efforts will be rewarded.

Sound: 10
This soundtrack pure 8-bit music. One or two tracks might be annoying, but the soundtrack is still amazing.

Scott Pilgrim delivers an excellent multiplayer, but sadly has no online play. Even if you haven't read the comics or haven't seen the movie, Scott Pilgrim is worth getting the demo. If you like the demo, I highly recommend getting the full game. Just get ready for a medicore start in the single player and there is no online play.

Quick Summary
Gameplay: A slow start and occasional lag won't stop you from enjoying Scott Pilgrim, but the gameplay could be better and longer.

Sound: Soundtrack is 8 bit heaven
