Scott Pilgrim is an outstanding comic that was skillful translated into a beat'em up
I don't usually like games based on comics or movies or worst! Games based on movies based on comics, but Scott Pilgrim vs. The World - The Game had to be made a masterpiece to not disappoint every fan of the comic.
First thing you might notice is that your HD Hi resolution television will blow with pixels! Even the Ubi Soft and Universal logos are at low resolution. But that is not bad at all! It makes the experience a lot more immersible. You´ll be playing a modern game with a 16-bit appeal and it makes it perfect for the theme. Even though, I would prefer a more modern technology on the soundtracks. Hear to bipbips isn't really satisfying.
The game is made of several rock, games and movies references besides the obvious comic book. There are lots of different kinds of items to use (even with poor variety of ways to use them), many cool fighting movies and hilarious scenes! There are bonus stages that most of the times look like "error in the Matrix", and those are cool to find too!
There are lots of things to do, but mostly you will punch, kick, smack, crash and throw things and get money for this. You can also enter some of the many shops along the stages for some power-ups! (I won't make any spoiler, but the names are the best!)
A great thing about the game is the barely cooperative mode. It was made to be played with friends! The number of enemies will grow according with the number of players playing! And the fun too! It's all laughs when a friend accidentally hits you with a trash bin or when you play baseball with a punk, using him as a ball.
You may also play the survival mode against zombies! It won't be easy, but it is lots of fun!
