Score Rush is like Geometry Wars on Speed. It's not innovative, but will satisfy your need for a shooter fix.

*Mini Review*

Entering newer territory this time, Xona Games's Score Rush is another frenetic space-shooter from the arcade-game dev enthusiasts. Instead of paying homage to Space Invaders, however, Score Rush more closely resembles Geometry Wars, though as usual with Xona Games, this take is focused on ramping up the speed and firepower of the player. Floating white objects emit a hail of bullets, while you float around in dual-stick shooter mode. The key element here involves collecting red orbs which increase your firepower in a big way, and create a sort of tail which trials behind you. The gameplay is frenetic and with the straightforward goal of racking up points before you, Score Rush provides solid one-track-mind play. With all of that said, as is typical with Xona Games, Score Rush doesn't innovate a whole lot here. If you enjoy Schumps, then you'll enjoy Score Rush. If you're borderline, I doubt Score Rush will be the game to move you. But given the vast number of space-shooter available on XBIG, Score Rush will certainly allow you to get your shooter fix and is a fine game.
