E3 2008: Scene It? Box Office Smash!
This movie-trivia series returns with more questions, movie clips, and new online options.
To promote the Xbox 360 as a platform that appeals to everybody, Microsoft was pleased to announce Scene It? Box Office Smash!, the sequel to last year's movie trivia game of the same brand name. Though we only saw a very brief commercial and heard a few words on the subject from Microsoft VP Shane Kim, it seems clear that Box Office Smash will take the core experience from the first game and make it bigger in every way. That means more questions, more movie clips, and more ways to play.
In the commercial we saw, a guy was shopping at a store when he saw Scene It? Box Office Smash! playing at a kiosk. He recognized the answer to a question, picked up the controller, and jumped right in. Then all these girls came up and joined him in his quiz-show playing. Mere moments after that, he had a full-blown party on his hands, complete with gaming grannies, all because of Scene It? Box Office Smash!
But you probably already knew Scene It was a great party game. Box Office Smash will let you take the party global. When this game ships, you should be able to play online with friends and download new quiz content that's been created by other users. You'll also be able to import your new Xbox Live! avatar, so you'll be able to take on the world's retainers of trivial knowledge with an appearance all your own.
We're sure there'll be a lot more to report about this game before it ships, so make sure and check back often for more fun facts about this far from trivial game, Scene It? Box Office Smash!
