How do I beat an enemy?

After the mini game where you free the man in the trap in the bathroom, and you have to jump down to another room, and an enemy starts attacking you, I'm having trouble with defending myself. Does anyone have any tips please?

The only tip i can give as i am stuck on the same it is with the elevator open the doors then you need to time it so u can doge out of the way and he falls
