The game is very attractive at the first stage(s) but the shine will soon disappear and you will get the urge of switching your PS2 off.
You should only play this game if you can bear lame repeating dialogues, playing at the same areas over and over again, an 'AI' has absolutely no intelligence that it can only be called 'A' in this game and last and worst THE AI ALWAYS DIES THE SAME WAY.
The last point shows how bad the game is made as no matter how you kill, no matter where your sword strikes the guy will die in the style its supposed to.
It might be worth to rent if you want to give a shot to slicing bullets and dodging bullets like crazy and if you are stubborn enough you will finish the 16 levels(yeah the game is only 16 levels) in the rent period otherwise you'll give up before finishing level 2
The only amazing thing about this game is how fast it can bore people with such a good game play.

  Samurai Western is a great game, though it would have been better without the glaring flaws.
