You are probably only reading this review if you are an snk fighting game fan like me. SNK brings another great fighting franchise to the xbox. Samurai shodown like the previous entries in the series takes place in feudal Japan, this one in 1786. This is weapons based combat at its finest. It contains 26 cool fighters who all have their own personality, something that SNK is known for, having lots of personality in its' characters. Arcade mode is fun and the boss is very cheap and difficult. Everybody has one rage combo and the same command to do it for everybody. You're gauge builds up as you take hits. Also, the concentration one gauge is included, you have to charge this up with energy from your gauge and when your energy goes down enough you can press a command to activate it and deal some serious damage on your opponent. The best thing is the inclusion of online play on Xbox live. Play against fighters from around the world without much lag. You don't have to be slave to the blade, but you should at least rent this for some weekend fun. This is better than any other weapons based game.

Easy menus. Cool introduction. Nice art, but instruction manual lies when it says secret characters, that was for Samurai Shodown V Special. It of course has the anime look. Good for SNK neogeo 2D graphics. The special moves are flashy and cool. Framerate has no problems. All the sword clanks and shouts you could ask for. The music is beautiful. Spot on controls, something SNK as well as Capcom are known for in their 2D fighting games. Not as fast paced like King of Fighters or Street Fighter.
