Short but not sweet.
Genkibowl VII is well-presented and can be entertaining, though it contains only four activity variations and is over in less than an hour. Genki Apocalypse, which tasks players with traversing a dangerous, trap-filled set while fighting mascots and brutes to reach the exit point, is a carbon copy of the main game's Professor Genki's Super Ethical Reality Climax. The latter was hilarious and genuine fun, but this one feels like a maze, with confusing design. It's disappointing when considering how creative Volition are with the activities in the main game. The second activity is Super Ethical PR Opportunity, which tasks players with driving around Genki himself, while mowing down pedestrians and frying them with the car's flamethrowers, in order to get to his destination. Its a lot more entertaining than Genki Apocalypse, and its something I'll consider replaying. Another inventive activity is the Sexy Kitten Yarngasm. Though similar to Tank Mayhem, the idea of a 60-foot pink ball of yarn is hilarious to say the least, and lends in perfectly with the game's humour. You must destroy marked targets in all-out destruction, and can utilize a devastating shockwave attack that obliterates anything in your vicinity. The yarn is available at your garage upon completion, and using it in Steelport is silly fun. The final activity is the best of the lot. Sad Panda Skyblazing pits players with jumping out a plane dressed as a panda, while gliding through hoops. If you lose ascension, you can land on large Panda or Tiger heads to increase height, and land on rooftops to kill mascots for extra cash. It's great fun and worthwhile in terms of the overall add-on.
GAMEPLAY
The above activities basically describe the gameplay, which is the same as the main game. The controls and design work well, although the confusing design of Genki Apocalypse can often lead to running out of time. Also, reaching a certain level is recommended before trying this activity, as it can be difficult otherwise. Yarngasm is straightforward and fun, and Super Ethical PR Opportunity is a funny yet forgettable activity. Sad Panda Skyblazing is great, though. It's a very, very short add-on, and its price isn't necessarily justified.
REPLAYABLITY
The add-on is incredibly brief, with two activities reminiscent of existing Saints Row activities. Skyblazing and PR Opportunity are new and relatively entertaining, but the other activities, especially Genki Apocalypse, are uninteresting. It will run at around 30-40 minutes.
