Perhaps so crazy that the highlight moments don't stand out

I still don't entirely know what to make of SR4. SR3 was over the top with moments of utter insanity that kept you wondering where the game would go next while SR4 has you bouncing from building to building in less than an hour.

This is a good game, mainly for its typically sharp-witted dialogue, self-awareness and ability to lampoon multiple films, computer game eras and genres in typical style.

The super powers are well integrated and while you may favour one, you do have to use all of them to get at all the secrets and complete all the challenges. But the powers do mean you rarely drive a car unless you feel you should or a mission forces you to. Running up a building is cool, but lacks the feel of a well executed power slide or the roar of an engine.

The game riffs on its matrix-esque setting very well, but since you spend most of the time being a super-hero, the set pieces you play through as part of the plot don't feel quite as grand as skydiving into a plane or freefalling in a tank that you experienced in SR3.

There is fun to be had and its does keep you playing in true "Just one more mission" fashion, but there's always a little voice in the back of your mind saying this isn't quite as good as its predecessor.
