From: Dairycows | #020In regards to endings they'd probably just do what western RPGs have been doing for years. Pick one ending and go with that as cannon. Disregard all opposing choices/endings for new players, but allow those who played the preceding game to import a save that will slightly alter some minor elements of the new game to reflect the end chosen for the last.
So basically, just use the Bioware approach. Compared to other options, it's cheap, it's easy, and it has precedent for being an acceptable band-aid solution in the past.
this. Dead Rising 2 did it because of the whole exclusive content(DR2: Case West) and how PS3/PC gnever got it. I'm guess #1 had something similar. Silent Hill had a canon ending, though only #3 followed it. 0rigions was a prequel, so I don't think it counts.

this is Saints Row we're talking about. not a serious game like GTA. also, it's ridiculous. ridicules means something else.
A reason for the gang to start with no resources again (which is why the start of 3 is pretty stupid- oh no we seem to have lost all our money somehow?)
within the context of the game it made sense. someone hacked the Saint's bank account and took their money.

I think maybe saints row 4 should take place between 2 and 3, that way johnny gat can still be in at and we can find out what happened with the whole situation with Dex

If they choose SR4 to be a continuation probably the best opening would be saving Shaundi than immediately the player goes after killbane. Its the only opening that would give both endings some validation.
