The story isn't the greatest, but the game is very enjoyable due to the open world, customization, and atmosphere. There are lots of choices in the game that can heavily affect the outcome of various situations. You can be the "good guy" who tries to help everyone and resolve issues, or you can be a bandit who kills without remorse for personal gain and reputation. The game mechanics aren't bad, but mods help tremendously if you want a more realistic experience or if you're the type who just wants to break the game. A relatively unknown game in the Western Hemisphere, Call of Pripyat deserves more recognition. If you have played Fallout 3 or Metro 2033, you definitely should check this game out. This game should even be enjoyable for Call of Duty fans because it is, of course, a game where you shoot guns.
