TECMO you destroyed the name of RYGAR your developers are just crap, why can't you make a better game than re-release the same PS2 game?? you just changed the name and the Rygar's color to gain money from that release. just read TheLostLegion post, to understand that Sony steal all the idea but they made a legendary game, not The ****** adventure. next time re-release the NES game, it will be better.

They should of just said, "You know what, just buy God of War." End of Review.

the lost legion is right. Rygar inspired Gow. The diskarmor came first. and the game wasnt garbarge.

This is NOT a way to review a game. I'm glad I switched to IGN.

Finally we are not forced to see those bozos reviewing the game on the video. But still they need to get somebody who sounds half way alive.

I finished the original Ps2 game in two sittings, the game is pretty short to. I really liked Rygar on the NES (though I never beat it), I really wished they could've done a better game.

I can't believe they released this and didn't even upgrade the graphics or anything. I might as well just go buy the PS2 game for $5.

why would anyone buy this piece of crap, when you can get GOW. If all you got is the wii, then go buy a ps2 then get GOW

Finally a decent game for the Wii. The PS2 game got good scores in 2002. The Diskarmor was already present in the original NES game on which this game was based, so it's not stolen from GoW.

I just took a look at the PS2 one. Why is Rygar's character design completely different if this is a re-release? They change the way he looks, but don't update the graphics?

I am totally pissed off when people say this is a God of War ripoff. IT ISN'T, DAMMIT!!! Released 3 years before the first God of War and 7 years from now, the original Rygar, if not evolutionary, was an inspiring title for many action adventure games to come. The story is boring and cliche no doubt, but top-notch level and character/boss design was unquestionably stunning by the time's standards. The healthy mix of jumping puzzles, exploration (to look for unlockables) and action made Rygar one of the best last-gen action adventure games. Sadly, the game received much less attention than it should. And when the first God of War came out, it blew everyone's minds. I do not deny how good GoW is, but you can easily find a lot, a lot of similarities between the two titles, and clearly the the developers got the inspiration from Rygar. The setting, the weapon chained to hand(s), and even the platforming. GoW is like a polished game built on the great idea from Rygar. One thing that disppoints me in the video is how McShea said, "the diskarmor sounds like a GoW ripoff". He also stated he has not played the original Rygar when it first came out (on the HotSpot). I hope to get things right, because many other people also think the same way, which is not true. Finally, I am disappointed by the fact Tecmo is releasing a classic with a half-assed "overhaul". The character model of Rygar is just totally unbelievably unfitting. The arena mode is like the cave at the final levels of the original Rygar, which is very much meaningless. And only motion controls in arena mode?!! If Tecmo is going to revamp the franchise, they ought to do it right-- make a sequel.

i have better things to waste my money on, Tecmo must be getting desperate to release the same game on a different system 6 years later

So basically, if you can get over the age, you should get it.

I really dont understand how they could port a six year old game and think that they could get away with changing nothing. I mean not even a graphical overhual? Are you serious Tecmo?
