Rush 'n Attack is your one way ticket to a great 80's arcade 2D platformer shooter, due to its twisted cold war theme.

User Rating: 9.5 | Green Beret ARC
The good: Killing gets fun, sweet music at the time, way better then any other Konami platformer, powerup guns is a great idea, challenging boss fights.

The bad: enemies coming from your back come too fast, you can't go back to your left to get cool power-ups

The game as I first knew it, as Green Beret, was released in the arcades in 1985. Then later, it was released as Rush 'n Attack, an obvious pun on Russian Attack. This became one of the most successful Konami hits, critically and commercially. You are a green beret set out to rescue your soldiers from your war opponents through 4 long levels. As you would know, this has war fever written all over, but with a twist; it's in the Cold war! This can give you a new sense of game-play, which this game practically has. Rush 'n Attack is the best cold war based game ever.

Game-play: 9/10

The game has 4 levels to go through, all with a boss fight at the end. Soldiers with a captain like uniform have power-up guns, and soldiers that come from behind you are faster then you. You can kill your enemies with a knife, or shoot the power-up gun you earned 3 times. It's fun and incredibly addictive.

Graphics: 8/10

Graphically, the game looks beautiful. The background scenery looks incredibly beautiful, espically in the first level.

Sound: 10/10

Great Music!! The game over music sounds perfect, and the instrumental music in the first level is catchy for a 1985 game.

Camera and Control: 10/10

In control, unlike most run and gun games, the tilt is completly perfect. Controlling your green beret hero is fun and shooting is cool.

Value: 10/10

This game is totally worth your arcade money.

Average Score: 9.5/10

Rush 'n Attack is your one way ticket to a great 80's arcade 2D platformer shooter, due to its twisted Cold War theme. This is one of Konami's greatest classics, and a treasure for fans of the war game genre. This is easily one of your options for a great Konami game.
