RUNE is perfect hack and slash

I started playing rune at a young age, but I have not stopped since. Why? You may ask. The answer is really simple, Rune is the simple masterpiece.

Let's start with the graphics. The day when the game came out graphics were great, until this day they are pretty much ok. The game has aged very well in this regard. Landscapes are very beautiful models are pretty sharp, for a game released in 2000. models are awesome. You can easily distinguish different types of enemies from far apart. (This is a problem in younger games, that models and textures merge together because of to mutch colors an accessories.) Overall the game graphic vise is playable even today.

Let's talk about gameplay. There is only one word about it - simple. You pick up a weapon and swing it until the enemy is dead or its limb is cut off, and mark my words there is nothing more fun than seeing an enemy run away from you, because you cut of his limbs. There is also a rune system, that means every weapon has magical abilities that consume yellow bar (basically mana). The game is made to be fun in every way. There is nothing more fun that simple.

So the story of the Rune is not the best, but it's not the worst either. It's basically a Nord mythology world with gods and other creatures. The seting is awesome, but it could be more. So all this game you follow a BAD Viking warlord, that's your main goal throughout half of the game, but later, the player confronts one of the Nord Gods himself. The story will keep you entertained, but with right writers, it could be even more.

Overall its very good jewel of the past. If you want to feel 2000 gaming, you have to play this. Amen!
