not much of an improvement

User Rating: 8.8 | Rugby 08 PS2
i have been a rugby fan all of my life and i own every rugby game thats been made on PS2 and PC. after buying this game and having a look at everything the game has to offer, i must say there is a little dissapointment.
first of all the pros- Improves on the overall gameplay, updated international kits, new challange mode and rugby world cup

Cons- graphics have stayed largely the same as before, lots of the squads havent been updated at all and it is laughable at some of the squads, commentary is the same as before, the kicks for goal meter seems a bit iffy.

one of the cons i mentioned was the laughable squads. My two favourite teams (wales and the Ospreys) have got the stupidest squads of all. the ospreys squad doesnt include the new rugby sensations James Hook and Alan Wyn-Jones. and the other new sensations of the Ospreys andrew bishop and ian evansare only rated 57. Justin marshall, the biggest recruit in the Ospreys history isnt in the squad, neither are recent additions Nikki Walker, Filo Tiatia, Ian Gough, Mark Taylor and Mike Phillips.
James Hook is in the Wales squad mind, but he isnt an impact player, and he is only rated 72! ridiculous! Gavin Henson who hasnt hit form since that kick against England is still an impact player!

overall i think that though the gameplay has improved more than before, the developers have been so focused on the national sides that they havent put any considiration into the club sides. its better than the previous game, but there aren't enough improvements to squad and player data to make this get higher.
