Let me review this card in bullets

Maxes BF3 at the Ultra preset and i get 70-90fps consistently (depending on map size and population)
VERY QUIET
No input lag
No driver issues (yet)
Vsync, AA, AF, AO, etc. etc. etc. never give me any issues in any game
It's doing all of this and I haven't even up'ed the clock to make it comparable to a 680 GTX in performance.

In conclusion: PC gaming just got 10 times smoother, faster, and overall better.

Get this card if you have $400 to spare. Steal it if you don't. Take a loan out of the bank if you don't have the money and don't want to steal it. Borrow money from your parents if you don't have the money, don't want to steal it, or don't want to take a loan out. Seriously.

tool concert - february 7

i am officially going to the orlando, FL show on february 7th. i am so excited. what should i expect from a tool concert? im not sure if thats even a good question to ask, but i'd love to hear others experiences at tool shows, if anyone has any to share.

Yes. You may know me around here as a PC aficionado, but I am (as of 2 months ago) a gigging bassist. This explains my lack of being online on origin, steam, gamespot, etc. I'll be on a little more often now that the holidays are here and not much is going on.

Now to the juicy stuff. I am now an owner of the 1001rb-II bass amp head and the NEO 4x10 bass cabinet, both from Gallien-Krueger. If you don't know what this is, just think of extremely nice sounding bass gear priced at a midrange pricepoint (Tool's bassist and Flea from RHCP both use a very similar version of this amp, to put it into perspective). Very proud to own these babies and I can't wait to play my first gig with them (which is hopefully next sunday).

Just curious: any other bassists here?

as you guys may know, i am a battlefield fanboy at heart. i love bf2, 2142, and bc2. they are my 3 most played games, in fact.

but this battlelog crap acting as the menus makes me want to jump off a bridge. knowing that my most hyped game EVER is going to disappoint me makes me absolutely sick.

at least im still not desperate enough to buy mw3 at 60 dollars. i think everythings fine, then.

learning C++. going to try to practice becoming better at modeling. also going to try to get better at mapping with the hammer (and possibly even UDK and Cryengine mapping tools). i have the basic skills in each department, and by basic, i mean the bottom-most notch. gotta actually start putting effort into things now and hopefully i can put together a mod or a little program someday.

i dont want to promise anything, but i've got a megabyte of notepad text files thoroughly detailing an entire universe for something i wanted to create. i also have some other ideas that i want to put forth, but still, i'm not promising anything in the event that it may just turn into vaporware.

maybe in 5 or 6 months i'll send a shoutout to people to see if anyone wants to collaborate or help out with something, but until then, i'll be silently working to myself.

EA strikes again

after getting my bf2 account bugged to negative 9 million points, and losing 10 hours (1.2k kills, tons of points and awards) of stats on bc2, i now have forever lost the stat recordings of the most amazing match i've ever been a part of. outnumbered 5 to 14, winning 2 to 0, and obtaining 500 points, we embarrassed so many people on the other team that the team at the end was a completely different team from the beginning. being outnumbered, we still rushed in and kicked arse and took names.

i'm getting kind of frustrated with ea and their horrible servers. i wouldnt mind them losing data on some small stuff, but it seems they like to lose data whenever i'm doing amazingly well. the level of frustration i'm at right now is unbelievable. i'm actually very proud of that last match, but thanks to EA, i can't show it off!

piss off, EA. i HATE you.

oh btw, "we'll have your account restored within a couple of days". nothing, yet (hopefully yet).

a battlefield binge will occur until release day.

going to try to hit 50 on bc2 (i keep taking breaks from it, which makes me so far behind ) and i'm going to try my hardest to get as far as i can in the bf2 rankings before october 25th. might also throw in some bf2142 and bfp4f if i ever want to change it up.
