Revisiting Old Favourites

With lots of new stuff coming out like Modern Warfare 2 and Assassin's Creed 2 and no money, it's a perfect time to revisit an old favourite. This week Battlefield Bad Company. Now I say old favourite, but I guess it isn't that old. Played through the campaign and some multiplayer forgot; how much I enjoyed that game!

Anyways, if you ever find yourself unable to get the new stuff or bored of your current game, try reliving an older favourite. All you need is a few months away from it and it comes back like an old friend.

Gearing up for a sequel? Go back and play the original. Nothing gets me more pumped up for a new release like playing the original. Couple weeks back I played through Bioshock and totally loved it! My roommate is playing Assassin's Creed 1! Sometimes we get caught up in all the new releases and forget about the great games that we used to play. Heck, every now and then I play goldeneye N64!

What games would replay?

PS3 Slim

Just watched the new video on the slimer PS3. Looking pretty nice, a little more compact, and 100 bucks cheaper! I've got a 360 now and I love it, but with this new version of the PS3 out, maybe it's time to expand my horizons and pick one up. I've been really eager to get my hands on some PS3 exclusive stuff (killzone 2, metal gear, drake's fortune, and so on).

What do you think?

Fable 2 bit of a letdown

Once you get past the initial meh, the game gets pretty good, fun weapons, spells and quests. landscapes are huge and beautiful giving you the freedom to explore and free roam like you never could in fable 1. Everyone thinks the story is crap, I thought the story was pretty good, except for the ending of the game(worst boss battle ever!!). I got the special edition which was supposed to come with some bonus in game stuff, which I cannot find, I'm pretty sure the content was taken out!?

Anyways it's a solid game that you'll want to play thru a few times, but dont get the special edition, it's not worth it, anything on the bonus disc you can watch online.

E3 Wrapped Up

After watching all 3 days of live shows, and videos I'm really looking forward to what's to come in the next few months. you've got resident evil 5, Gears of War 2, Prince of Persia, Dawn of War, Fable 2, rock band 2, guitar hero world tour and alot more. Save your money man, save your money. It's gonna be pricey, but alot of fun!!

Holy Lord! I've been watching alot of vids and features about Fable 2, and if that game is going to be like they say, it'll be the greatest game ever. I cannot wait to get a hold on this game!!

This is one of those times, where I really wish I had a ps3 rather than a 360. Metal Gear Solid 4 looks amazing, after seeing all the videos and reviews I would love to get my hands on this game. But I've sold my soul to microsoft and I'm not buying a ps3 so I can play a couple of games! I'm not made of money

Finised GTA 4 Wow!

Last night at 12:30 I finished GTA 4's main story and I was filled with a feeling of pure aw. This game had everything I was looking for in a next gen title. Amazing graphics, great story with lots of twists and turns, great gameplay mechanics, and huge sandbox world to explore.

First off if you haven't picked this up yet, get it; PS3/360 whatever equally as amazing. The story mode is 60% of the game, which depending on how you play can leave you lots more to do after the story is done, or lots to do while the story is going on. Like in previous GTA games there are things to do such as: vigilante missions, wanted car lists, hidden packages, races, girlfriends to wine and dine, and much more.

A few things that GTA 4 did differently from others:

-The player is given choice in many of the missions. (ex. go and kill person a, or go help person a and person b in a drug deal and get a cut of the money)

-escaping wanted level has a new mehanic which works well and makes alot of sense

-cover/blind fire mode when in fire fights makes combat more realistic and intense

-360 version obviously offers a variety of achievements to work for

I really cannot say enough good things about this game, throughout my 25 hours of play I only experienced a couple of visual quirks, but nothing major. Everything feels right and works very well. GTA 4 is definitely one for the record books and deserves the glorified 10 out of 10

Advertising on Gamespot gone too far

This really has gotten absolutely rediculous. I just went over to a friends blog to watch a video he had posted and the blog post started with a tv.com ad. The ad sat on top of the video and even after it finished it didn't dissapear. It stays on top the blog video and blocked my view.

I mean come on, advertising is one thing, but you've got to draw the line somewhere. I come to this site to check out new stuff and watch videos. I know advertising is necessary but when it blocks the video you are trying to watch, it's gone over the top.

*Sorry Darrogamer, I didn't have the patience to keep watching your video with the ad on top of it.*

Alright so the launch centre is up and it's not many days now before it's release. GTA 4 is gonna be absolutely amazing, from everything I've seen, who knows....game of the year?

we'll cross that ridge when we get to it. Release in 20 days, I can't wait!!

Halo 3 Heroic Maps Free!!

Well that didn't take long, Bungie has released it's heroic map pack to xbox live marketplace for free. Normally it takes longer for maps to be free, but hey who's complaining (lol maybe the people who paid) So yeah if you're a halo 3 player get on an check out the new maps.

Actually it's not long until the 2nd map pack comes out so look for that in mid April

there have been a few announcements in the UK about game releases, and word on the street is Fable 2 is supposed to be released May 30th!! That's much sooner than I expected. I had heard 3rd quarter of 2008, but I guess it's been bumped forward, keep your fingers crossed!
