You can already browse the internet, play games, watch netflix. Then you have Windows 8 and Microsoft itself working on the damn console. No offense but I think it is important to note that Microsoft isn't a company like Nintendo/Sony in the way that: OH LET'S MAKE A DEDICATED GAME CONSOLE SO GAMERS CAN PLAY IT. Microsoft has always been about: What can we do that will attract a larger audience?

So far they are the only "game" (in quotation marks because it is sarcasm) company that makes ONLY game consoles. they obviously don't: work with tv companies, work in multiple areas of marketing, make products for pc, etc. They only make games and that's how it has always been. /sarcasm

Who ever said that the new console has to be all about games? Nothing stopping Microsoft from sticking Windows 8 on it with kinect. I don't see any reason why people should think so one-sided about a company that has multiple sides. To put it in perspective... Is it not a coincidence that Sony.. The company who works on blu-ray put blu-ray on the PS3. OMG never would have thought of that.

I mean I don't blame people for saying they don't want to get the nextbox because of a leak/rumour saying it will always be online but to say it is going to suck as a game console is a little bit off considering Microsoft doesn't exactly... I don't know, don't make dedicated consoles anymore? I don't blame people who hate consoles that aren't dedicated though. It is all a matter of opinion/values. I just don't like it when people think it won't have anything else to offer.

Wed, 20 Mar 2013 16:53:05 -0700 Cthulhu Saves the World http://www.gamespot.com/users/shadowchronicle/show_blog_entry.php?topic_id=m-100-26017693

I've been playing the game recently and it can get kind of addicting even though the plot isn't all that great. If you're looking for an intense rpg I recommend this one. You can get it on steam.

On another note about a couple weeks ago I started a manga called Hungry Joker which is a science manga. It appears in the weekly shonen jumps and I noticed it was gaining popularity so I decided to try it myself. I like it so far and I think it could go down a good path if the plot keeps developing like it is. Right now it is pretty slow though.

Pretty much sums up this month.

Tue, 19 Mar 2013 15:10:21 -0700 Best way to stop evil DLC http://www.gamespot.com/users/shadowchronicle/show_blog_entry.php?topic_id=m-100-26017627 #1. Don't buy it

I bet you haven't heard of this one.

#2. Think for a moment

Do you really want a horse armor set or some castle expansion in your game? Is the extra quest to get a legendary scale armor worth $15?

And the point I'm trying to get across is how much of this 'evil DLC' do you really want? The majority of it is major crap and not worth downloading. I wouldn't even think of it as completing the game.

Tue, 19 Feb 2013 21:54:14 -0800 Dec 22, 2008 http://www.gamespot.com/users/shadowchronicle/show_blog_entry.php?topic_id=m-100-26013262 I'm sure you don't know what the title means much until I say that was the date I joined gamespot.  I  joined gamespot when I was 16!  It has been around 3.5 years of being on gamespot although that isn't much I'd say that is quite a feat for online forums and myself.  I never really dedicated myself to anything online until I went to gamespot.  Originally my intent was to post reviews but I gave up because I don't really have the writing talent, I'm more of a mathematical person you could say.  Then I tried adding games to my list but I screwed up here and there so I forgot about that feature.  Overall I didn't expect the forums to keep me staying.  I never did any of the stuff I intended to do when I joined gamespot.  I mean I didn't expect to be a millionaire but I wanted to improve in gaming and work on some skills you can only obtain in the outside world (ie. Skills school does not teach you).  I'm sure you're wondering why I'm talking about December 22, 2008 but I just thought it would be a nice day to review my life on gamespot since Cloud_765 did that recently although it was perfect timing.

So as I said it all began when I was interested in reviews although I did not know you had to level up to review which frustrated me...  Yeah I wasn't happy with that. And when I did earn the ability I sucked at reviewing games without posting some abominal opinion like "yeah yeah pokemon does the same stuff every time but I still manage to play it".  Sad huh? Anyways off topic after that I joined a Union and realized it was dead, joined another union back when unions were created practically everyday and then it also died.  Joined this Treehouse Nintendo gaming union which I became an officer of and it was okay.  I met a few people there and if I remember correctly they were masterofthedark and papermariofan57.  I know motd was there for sure.  Then I joined the Ultimate Off Topic Union and they had a bunch of cool people but the union died off.  I remember meeting Dudersaper there.  Soon after that the Ultimate off Topic union I joined this union called All-Out Nintendo a week after creation.  I wasn't really active but I would lurk here and there.  I think I was level 16 or something like that.

I also joined Nintendo All-stars and met the-silent-hero, Javinho, Supa (I think), marioboy, smokings, and several other people. It got dramatic there and I think I was an officer of NAS and AONU at the same time at one point(?)

... Here comes the super short summary of my history at AONU.  So I met the gang: Soniczero, kjhj, Dudersaper (again), Cloud_765, grim, and many more. AONU was definitely the most active union I joined other than SCU. Christ it used to be hard keeping track of posts.  All the people there were pretty chill and I decided to get msn and then added a bunch of people since I always see people chatting. It got dramatic there and then AONU died. It didn't happen that fast but if I explained this blog would be several pages long.

Then while being a part of AONU I was in OKH which I could say was a bumpy ride but I met great users like naut, slyfur, curits, kakarot. Oh man those conversations were great.  Not forgetting that kakarot was also an important part of aonu and still is.

Not to mention the people who read my old blogs like macrules_640, I also talk to him outside of gamespot as well even though it has been awhile.

As you can see all these users were some how tied to each other in each union.  I really liked that and I actually remembered some things I forgot while doing this blog.

EDIT: Also if I don't mention you it isn't because I don't like you. I just summarized things that happened. My memory is pretty bad at the moment.

Mon, 18 Feb 2013 18:32:44 -0800 Sly Cooper: Thieves in Time http://www.gamespot.com/users/shadowchronicle/show_blog_entry.php?topic_id=m-100-26012786 Sly Cooper Thieves in Time Blog

I wanted to start off with saying this is not really a review.  I kind of just wanted to post my thoughts on it after beating the game.  In a way it is a review but it lacks the serious/critical aspect of what a review has I guess.  If you're not looking for spoilers I suggesr you stop read this blog right now if you're familiar with the Sly Cooper series.uspq44g.jpg

The game is pretty well done for something that was not made by Sucker Punch.  Sly Cooper Thieves in time was actually made by Sanzaru, the people who made the HD collection for Sly Cooper on PS3.  Although Sly's design is different I think they did a fantastic job on Sly trying to add in the details, he actually looks better since his features are more defined in Thieves of Time.

Sanzaru brings back the treasure aspect of the game and you can steal items and bring them back to your hideout like you did in the other games if you have ever played Sly Cooper 3.  They also bring in the clue bottles too if you're wondering and when you get all 30 clue bottles for each episode you can unlock a safe in that episode.  Don't worry if you don't get all the clue bottles, you can always revisit an episode or redo a job if necessary.

The game has everything the other Sly Games had and more (can be good or bad I guess to some people).  I liked the how they added in the ancestor feature where you can take control of Sly's ancestors.  Each ancestor has a specific skill which only that ancestor can use.  The mechanics of the game has not changed one bit, in fact you probably couldn't even tell that it was made by a different developer if you didn't know this was made by a different developer.  The background is vibrant and all the graphics are stunning in the game, love the style Sanzaru used for the game. It fits the series well and they atleast adapted to modern graphics.

Not only do they have more ancestors they also have new mini games.  For example you get to dance with Murray/Carmelita later.  It brings that fun aspect to the game since Sly Cooper is generally just about having fun and not taking the gameplay too seriously.  Most of the games involve Bentley hacking a computer to unlock a door or some system which can get repetitive but don't worry because the minigames have variety.

And the plot of the story is great although extremely predictable if you have ever played Sly Cooper 1-3 before playing Thieves in Time.  They try to focus on Carmelita and Sly's relationship too much in this game to be honest.  I liked how Sly would reference plot in the other games and make connections while doing jobs.  It made the whole adventure nostalgic in a way.   Overall I say it is well done and I would not discourage other Sly fans to purchase the game since it still has that touch the other Sly games have.
