Vinny and Brad officially join GiantBomb.com

Just a quick blog about the news that Brad Shoemaker and Vinny Caravela are now officially joining Jeff Gerstmann and Ryan Davis at the Giant Bomb which was announced in the latest edition of the Giant Bombcast, this now bring a total of 4 former Gamespot employees who are now working at Giant Bomb.

Today is my 18th Birthday!!!

So today April 21st is my 18th birthday 8) which is pretty exciting. It would have been nicer if I didn't have to go to school today but it was still a great day plus most of my friends go to the same school as me so I still got to see them all on my birthday but I will still have a party at the end of the week .

On another note I can't wait until Grand Theft Auto IV is released in just over a weeks time and I'm sure that it will be such an awesome game that everyone expects it to be and I'm going to be investing a lot of time into playing that game as I'm sure many other people will be as well. The only bad thing is that the Australian version of the game will be edited in some way which sucks because we don't have an R18 rating but I am actually going to be purchasing both the Australian Xbox 360 version of the game and an imported US PS3 copy of the game, that way I don't miss out on anything .

Anyway enough about GTA IV I have to go to bed soon so that I can get up in time for school tomorrow so I will talk to you guys later .

Hit by the GIANT BOMB (dot com)

If you haven't heard about the Giant Bomb (dot com) it is a gaming website that Jeff Gerstmann & Ryan Davis are starting up where they will be reviewing games, talking about some of the upcoming games and plenty of other stuff. There will also be a weekly podcast that will be transitioned from the Arrow Pointing Down Podcast that Ryan has been posting on his blog and there is also going to be a regular video segment called "How To Build A Bomb" which will take you behind the scenes of the website, click on the link to checkout the first episode.

I'm really glad that they decided to create their own gaming website because I was really upset when I heard the news that Jeff was fired and then recently Ryan decided to leave since they were some of my favourite editors here at Gamespot but now I finally have a place where I can check out their articles and reviews on the latest games that are coming out. I can't wait to see how the finished website will turn out and I hope that it will become a great success and I wish them all the best of luck with their brand new site that I will be sure to visit on a regular basis from now on.

My Final Year of School and level 28 Bionic Commando

Like the title says it is my final year of school this year which has just started last Wednesday here in Australia and I hope that everything will go well for me this year being in Year 12 even though it will be quite stressful. It's a bit hard getting use to waking up early in the morning for me because I was sleeping in for pretty much all of my holiday and also for the fact that I just hate waking up early, period. I can't wait until I finish Year 12 but at the same time It would be kind of sad not to see my friends everyday at school but we hang out quite often over the holidays to I guess it shouldn't be too bad.

As far as gaming goes I haven't bought any new games this year except for Lost Planet on the 360 which came out at the start of last year but I haven't had a chance to play it yet. I also forgot to mention that I got a Wii for Christmas last year which is pretty cool, the games that I have for it so far are: Wii sports (obviously since it comes with the console), Zelda Twilight Princess and Super Mario Galaxy which is just such a magnificent game. I am also really excited for GTA IV which will come out on April 29, 8 days after my 18th birthday .

I also bought some Blu-Ray movies over the holiday brake which were the Spiderman Trilogy box set and the Planet Earth 5 disk box set which look amazing on my HDTV in full 1080p hi-def.

My Gamespot level is now 28 - Bionic Commando and my emblem count stands at 27 emblems which I think is not too bad but it sucks that there are no Gamespot Tournaments here in Australia for me to take part in. Anyway I'm going to go to bed since it is like 12:45am here and I have to wake up for school in 6 hours so I will see you guys later.

I would like to wish everyone a Happy New Year for 2008 and hope that everyone had a great time celebrating the New Year with their family and friends.

Let us look back and celebrate 2007 with all the great games that were released that year across all the major platforms and look up to the 2008 season with all the great games that it has to offer.

My New Profile Theme

Well I have decided that it was time to change my profile theme after many months of having my DMC theme which was getting a bit old. I would have made a new theme sooner but I was really busy with preparation for my end of year exams and other things that I just didn't have the time to sit down and make a new one. Over the past week I have been playing a lot of Assassin's Creed and I finally decided that it will be the subject of my new profile theme since that game is just so awesome 8). So anyway I just wanted to hear what you guys think of my new profile theme and I also wanted to know what games you guys are currently playing.

Halo: Combat Evolved coming to XBLA

According to OXM-UK the upcoming Xbox 360 dashboard update will give people the chance to download original Xbox titles through the Xbox live marketplace costing a maximum of 1200 Microsoft points. The first title to hit the marketplace will be the game that started it all, Halo: Combat Evolved with other titles on the way which will include Burnout 3, Fable, Crimson Skies and Crash Bandicoot: The Wrath of Cortex. The update is expected to become available on December the 4th.

Exam Time

Well today was my first exam which wasn't too bad but I have another five to go so it's going to be a very stressful time for the next few weeks until the end of my exams. I have another exam coming up tomorrow and then two on Friday with the final two exams on the following week, so I'm really not going to have any time to play the new games that are coming out until the end of next week. Luckily I'm going to be able to watch the BlackSite: Area 51 Demo Preview coming up and scoring myself a sweet looking emblem .

Finally bought a Nintendo DS

Well I finally decided to go out and buy myself a Nintendo DS after holding it off for quite some time now. Together with my DS I picked up a copy of Elite Beat Agents which I must say is a really crazy and addictive rhythm game that I have been playing for a few hours now and enjoying every minute of it. After seeing a lot of positive reviews for Phantom Hourglass I will probably go out and get myself a copy even though I'm not the biggest Zelda fan, but the game does look really awesome so I'm pretty sure I will buy it. Anyway feel free to leave me a suggestion for any other DS games that you might recommend that I should consider purchasing.

Gamerscore 25k

Just a quick update on my gamerscore which now currently stands at 25010 which is mostly due to Halo 3 which helped to push my gamerscore over the 25k mark.

American Dad Union

Just today I received my Artistic Genius Emblem for submitting some banners I made and having them put up on the gamespace. It was actually my first time submitting banners so I was very happy that they accepted two of my banners.

The Death of my Xbox 360.....Again!!!

So I woke up this morning wanting to play some games on my xbox 360, go to turn it on and the 3 flashing lights have once again returned. So now I need to send it back to Microsoft to get it repaired again and it should hopefully be back within 10 days.

The Death of my Xbox 360

Last Sunday on the 29th of April, I decided to play my xbox 360 after taking a brake from playing it for a while since I got my PS3. So anyway I turned on my 360 and everything seemed fine so I put in GoW and started playing and after about 2 minutes of gameplay the game suddenly froze so I reset the console and then I saw it, the ring of death that's when I knew that it was the end for my xbox 360. I have had my 360 for 10 months now and I didn't expect that it would fall apart in such a short amount of time so now I have to wait for Microsoft to repair it , but at least it was still under warranty so that I didn't have to pay extra for it to get repaired.
