1. Dark Souls

2. Skyrim

3. Portal 2

4. The Witcher 2

5. Magicka

6. Battlefield 3

7. Infamous 2

8. Sonic Generation

9. Little Big Planet 2

10. Orcs Must Die

Note that I only own a PC and PS3 so any 360 or Wii exlusive did not have a chance to make it in. I also currently own Deus Ex: Human Revolution, Saints Row: The Third, Batman Arkham City, and Crysis 2 but have not played enough of any of them to consider them for my Top 10. Of course after I play them I'd assume my list would be changed but I am just letting you know hwy those games are absent from this list.

The whole picture won't fit in this blog but this is pretty much shows all that is new. The case is much more spacious than my NZXT Apollo

Fri, 03 Jun 2011 00:20:10 -0700 New PC http://www.gamespot.com/users/BPoole96/show_blog_entry.php?topic_id=m-100-25930983 So I finally made the jump into the glorious world of PC Gaming. After weeks of uncertainty and feelings of inadequacy I managed to order all of my parts and assemble them without any major problems. These are the specs that I currently am using

  • CPU:Intel Core i5 2500k Sandy Bridge
  • GPU: MSI HD 6950 Twin Frozr ll
  • Motherboard: Asus P8P67 LGA 1155
  • Memory: G Sill Ripjaw 8GB (2 x 4GB)
  • Cooling: Coolermaster V8
  • HDD: Seagate Barracuda 1.5TB
  • Power Supply: Corsair TX 750W
  • Case: NZXT Apollo
  • Monitor: Asus VW246H 24" LCD 1920x1080
  • Mouse: Logitech MX518
  • Keyboard: Thermaltake Tt Challenger (Red Backlit)
  • Sound: Logitech Z-506 5.1 Surround Sound

So far the games I have bought include:

  • Crysis
  • Just Cause 2
  • Fallout 3 GOTY
  • GTA4 Bundle
  • Metro 2033
  • Painkiller Redemption
  • Mass Effect 2

________

I would also like to note that if you are considering PC Gaming, do it. I found it somewhat intimidatng at first since I have played consoles my whole life but it really is better. As far as assembly goes, there are TONS of great walkthroughs online which will tell you exactly hwo to do it. I am TERRIBLE at putting things together and I was able to do it pretty effortlessly.

Well that pretty much wraps this up. Hope you all are enjoying your summer so far 8)

Sun, 11 Apr 2010 00:53:07 -0700 WTF A Blog? http://www.gamespot.com/users/BPoole96/show_blog_entry.php?topic_id=m-100-25814470 Whats going on everyone?

It's currently about 3:00am and I'm pretty bored so I thought I'd give you all an update type thing to let you know what I've been up to. I've been pretty busy with the traditional school/work combo but luckily I only have about a month left.

This is my 4th semester in college and it's been going pretty well. I'm taking a variety of ****s including Marketing, US History (1865-Present Day), Speech (like giving a speech, I can already speak properly lol), and of course English

__________

Well enough about school since that's boring so let's get to the gaming business. I have played a bunch of games since '10 started so I guess i'll talk about those. So far I've bought:

  • Heavy Rain
  • Battlefield: Bad Company 2
  • God of War 3
  • Assassin's Creed 2
  • Megaman 10
  • Megaman X5 (PS1)

I'm going to do a quick review pros/cons ****of each game and try to keep them as spoiler free as possible

Heavy Rain

Pros:

Unique - Interesting Story - Does a great job of making you actually care what happens to your characters- Suspenseful- Great graphics (especially facial animations) - Great character development

Cons:

The voice acting is a little off and some of the voice actors are French guys trying to speak with an American accent so some words sound odd - Some screen tearing issues - Minor plot holes - Slow start

Overall, I really, really enjoyed this game. It was unlike anything I have played before and it was really refreshing from shooting and killing things non-stop (although killing things is always fun). I have to keep this kind of brief due to spoilers, but if you're looking for a unique experience and a game that will really grasp your emotions, than Heavy Rain will certainly deliver.

Should you buy it? YES

Battlefield: Bad Company 2 (MP Only, even though I have beat the campaign)

Pros:

Better than Modern Warfare 2 (FACT) - Balanced multiplayer - Lots of customizations (Guns, attachments, equipment/gadgets) - Vehicles are effective but far from overpowered - Nice variation of maps - Dedicated servers so lag is very minimal - Excellent visuals

Cons:

Only can speak to your 3 other squad mates, makes it tough when you need to tell someone in your squad to do something - Only 3 game modes (Conquest, Rush, and Squad TDM)

Bad Company 2 is definitely worth a purchase. If you're a fan of FPS and are sick of being noob tubed and commando knifed on MW2, than I strongly suggest picking this up. One thing to consider though is the game to TONS better if you're playing in a squad with friends versus playing by yourself or with randoms. I suggest having some friends get the game as well to enhance your experience with it.

God of War 3

Pros:

The game is ****ing amazing

Cons:

The trilogy has come to an end

My ONLY complaint with the game was the lack of unlockables. Pretty much all of the skins are from pre-order bonuses. I like the different tasks you had to do in GoW1 and 2 in order to have all the skins.

Other than that, any self respecting PS3 owner should have this game in their collection. If you like action games, hell, even if you don't, buy this game. It delivers on every aspect as far as gameplay, story, graphics, music, EVERYTHING. If you're reading this right now and the game is not in your possession, stop reading right now and go buy it. Seriously

Assassin's Creed 2

Pros:

Excels upon everything from AC1 - Great variation in missions - Lots of weapons that are fun to use - Good length (took me about 18 hours to beat the game) - Great depiction of the Renaissance Era - Ezio is a Renaissance version of Nathan Drake - Lots of side missions, things to collect and explore once you've beaten the game

Cons:

Heavy screening tearing - Graphical glitches (some textures to buildings or the ground never pop in)

This game was actually recommended to me from you all from my last blog. I actually got if off Amazon for $15 (they had it for $35 and I had $20 towards any game). I really enjoyed the game a lot and would like to thank all of you for recommending it to me. I think it's actually down to $30 on Amazon now so if you haven't bought it I strongly suggest you get it. I'm really anticipating the third installment of the game as well. I also got the Platinum for it right before I wrote this

____

Alright so there are some quick reviews for those games in case any of you were on the fence about buying any of them. Hopefully they weren't too terrible since I have very little experience reviewing games. Anyway, thanks for reading and hope you all enjoy the rest of your weekend!

I'm looking to buy a new game but I'm torn between Bayonetta, Assassin's Creed 2, Batman: Arkham Asylum, Bioshock 2, and Ratchet and Clank: A Crack in Time. I'm only looking to buy 1 of them at the time (although in time I will probably get them all eventually. Also note that Assassin's Creed 2 is only $40 on Amazon.

Anyway, hope you guys can help me make a decision. Sorry for the cliche blog.

Tue, 17 Nov 2009 06:44:35 -0800 Another Broken PS3 http://www.gamespot.com/users/BPoole96/show_blog_entry.php?topic_id=m-100-25758647 With just over a year since my last one (previous PS3 broke November 8th, 2008 ), my PS3 has decided to fail on me again. The one I was using was a refurbished 60GB BC that Sony had sent me since my last one was not fixable. I figured that it wouldn't last very long, and I was right.

Yesterday I was playing Borderlands and while I was playing the system just shut itself off. I turned it back on and everything was fine for the rest of the night. Today I turned it on and played for about 15 minutes and then it died for good. This is exactly what happened the last time: power supply failure.

I'm pretty annoyed because I was really enjoying Borderlands, and I think I was getting close to the end of the game. I'll most likely have to redo all of it. I'm hoping that my saved data will still be there when I get my system back.

In the meantime, I already went and bought a new PS3 Slim to fill the void. It may sound dumb for buying for owning 2 PS3's but one of them is a potential gift. If I get my broken PS3 back and all my saved data is there, the Slim will be my brother's Christmas gift. If it's not there, I keep the Slim and he gets the one sent from Sony.

Well that's about it for now. I'll be picking up my copy of the God of War Collection to be playing all weekend. Can't wait to play through those again. I still have Demon's Souls to play through as well as Tekken 6. Borderlands will have to wait since it's trapped in my PS3...

If you have heard already, Best Buy has a buy 2 get 1 free deal going on until Sunday 11/1.

I decided to get Demon's Souls, Borderlands, and Tekken 6. Since there were a few other games I wanted as well, my friend who I'm visiting in Ohio right now got R&C, Batman: Arkham Asylum, and Uncharted 2. That way when he is home we can trade off games and I'll be able to play all of them.

For the month of November, Modern Warfare 2 and the God of War Collection are on my list of purchases. Well that's pretty much it. Just a quick update. Oh and Happy Halloween to all of you. Stay out of trouble

Sun, 25 Oct 2009 02:06:58 -0700 Back From Suspension and Tagged http://www.gamespot.com/users/BPoole96/show_blog_entry.php?topic_id=m-100-25749020 What's up everyone? In case you didn't notice (which would be very likely), I was inactive on GS for the past week or so due to me being suspended.

Now what could a nice guy like myself (debatable) have done to get suspended?

To be as brief as possible in order to avoid another possible suspension, a topic was created on SW saying "I thought the PS3 was supposed to be for mature gamers". The TC noted that Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 does not feature blodd in it. Since I am fairly annoyed by people who have not played the game saying it has no blood, I got irritated. In my post I said, "anyone who thinks that game does not have blood is being moronic." Flaming= 7-Suspension. Yay...

With all that aside, I was tagged by tagyhagto do an about me type thing. She's a very cool user and very knowledgeable about video games. I did a blog a long time ago saying 10 things you did not know about me, so some of these will be repeats. Well, here we go:

Name: Brian (Note that it is spelt with an I, losers spell it with a Y)

Age: 20

Height: 6'1

Weight: Somewhere between 200-210

Music: Rock, Metal, Hard Rock, Some rap (From the 90's), and some Trance/Techno

Location: Maryland

School: Montgomery College. I am currently doing Gen Ed, since I do not know an exact career I want to pursue. I'm considering a job in Law Enforcement/FBI/CIA/Homeland Security or owning my own restaurant.

Occupation: Restaurant Manager

Systems Owned: NES, SNES, Genesis, Gameboy Color, Gameboy Advanced, N64, PS2, PS3

Favorite Game this Gen: Tie between Uncharted 2 and Fallout 3

Random Facts: I'm left handed, I don't do drugs or drink alcohol, I somehow offend people I don't know with my shyness (or being cold they call it).

Things I like: Playing video games, Speeding, Driving with the windows down, procrastinating homework, staying up late (It's 4:40 am right now), sleeping in late, this song, and pizza

Things I don't like: (See previous blog) as well as, Driving behind buses (GTFO OF MY WAY!!!), Old people who complain a lot (especially about the room temperature), People who walk slow, Pseudo-Intellectuals, People who eat muffins with a fork, majority of internet lingo, the following genres of music: Pop-Hop (or present day Rap/Hip-Hop) and Country, People who throw grenades at me on video games (ie. every person I have ever played against), Monday mornings, and Long drives when I'm not driving

So I guess I have to tag some people now:

  • Chaos_Bladez
  • M0wen10
  • NaughtyRag

And to end this, I though I would include a picture of myself for those of you who do not know what I look like. This picture is from when I was 18, but it's the most recent one I have of me:

Tue, 15 Sep 2009 18:32:54 -0700 Things That Piss Me Off http://www.gamespot.com/users/BPoole96/show_blog_entry.php?topic_id=m-100-25732206 What's going everyone? I'm going to go on a little rant here about things that irritate me to no ends. I kind of stole the idea from my friend Furi-Kunhere on GS. We had similar peeves on the things that he brought up. I will discuss some of those, as well as some others. Anyway, here we go:

1. People who eat Cheeseburgers upside down. HOLY ****! I don't know if any of you have had the displeasure of seeing somebody who consistently does this, but let me tell you, it's ridiculous. I guess I just don't understand the idea of turning your burger upside down and having to twist your wrist around just to pick it up. I can't exactly pin point why this bothers me so much, but if I see somebody I'm with do it, I will comment on it every time

If I ever own my own business, this sign will be posted up on every wall. "No food or drink, No upside down cheeseburgers"

2. These following words:

Hybrid- This word is being thrown all over the place just to make things sound more interesting.

Premium- Another word that marketers use to make things seem much better than they really are. At the restaurant I work at, we don't have "trash bags", we have "Ultra Premium Can Liners". Thing is, they look, and feel, A LOT like trash bags to me. They even rip if I put cardboard inside.

I even saw some DLC for Burnout Paradise referred to as "Premium DLC". It's all the same to me. Adding the word premium doesn't make it any nicer

Alcove- The word itself just angers me by the way its pronounced. I can't stand searching for collectible items in video games and while looking through the guide it says on nearly every line "It's in the next room, right inside the little alcove". Ugh

-zorz- How this suffix even made it's way into existence just baffles me. Anytime I see someone using that, I feel the need to punch them in the face (I had to punch myself in the face just typing it). Of the various forms I have seen it in, the ones that made me gasp were "LuLZorZ" and n00bzOrZ..... I'm just going to stop right there

3. People who purposely misspell words because they are either too lazy to type them out or they think it's cool. My favorite is when somebody asks for help on something and they plea "HELP PLZ". Plz??? Wtf is that? Oh they mean PLEASE! Hmm, well they can even make 3 more keystrokes to spell that word out, so I'm not even going to waste my time trying to help them.

If you have been a keeping up with my infrequent blogs, you may remember this one, where I poked fun at this topic as well. Also, I stumbled across this when I was looking for a single person to pinpoint my hatred on, and I nearly had a stroke.

4. Wendy's Commercials- Shortly after the death of Dave Thomas (Founder of Wendy's), the company decide to obtain this new persona that led them to believe that they are better than other fast food restaurants. The old Wendy's commercials showed the red head, Wendy, perfectly happy sitting there in her sign without saying a word, like a good girl. But now, she talks, she dances, and most of all, she's really annoying. There are times when I want to eat "Wayyyyyyyyyy better, Wayyyyyyyyyyyyy later", but I'm not taking her advice for it. I'll go to 7-11 and get myself a bag of Doritos, some beef jerky, and a liter of Dr. Pepper instead of buying into those stupid commercials.

^ These people have the right idea

And what is with their new tag line "It's wayyyy better than fast food, it's Wendy's!"? Last I checked, Wendy's was a fast food joint. They can think they're above and beyond all the want, but they are no different than a McDonalds or Jack-in-the-Box.

I will most likely be doing another one of these (with more pictures). I have a list saved on Word of about 20 different things, but I wanted to keep this blog fairly short, and some of the things are not appropriate for this site. I hope you all enjoyed reading, even if you just skimmed and read the bold text. Even if you did, I don't mind, what's why I put it there

Feel free to let me know what grinds your gears. Maybe I have missed some that I just need to be reminded of.

With the all summer long gaming drought (at least for me), I can't wait until this Fall/Winder come around. Here are the games that I plan on getting/not getting.

Definitely getting

  • Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2(pre-ordered)
  • Uncharted 2 (pre-ordered)
  • Modern Warfare 2
  • God of War 3
  • Heavy Rain
  • Gran Turismo 5
  • Fallout 3 GOTY Edition
  • MAG
  • Bayonetta

Possibly getting

  • Operation Flashpoint: Dragon Rising
  • Ratchet and Clank: A Crack in Time
  • Borderlands
  • Demon's Souls
  • Tekken 6
  • Final Fantasy XIII
  • Final Fantasy XIII Versus
  • Dante's Inferno

Most likely not getting:

Mon, 06 Jul 2009 21:34:21 -0700 BPoole's Favorite Boss Fights #3 http://www.gamespot.com/users/BPoole96/show_blog_entry.php?topic_id=m-100-25697187 Yet another installment of my favorite boss battles. As I've been doing this, I've noticed something; games this gen don't seem to have that great of boss fights. Most seem rather generic and don't provide the challenge that I remembered from past gens. To me, the last boss should ALWAYS be the most difficult part of the game. I had to do some digging through my older games to be refreshed by some great fights.

One that I surely would have missed, was from the PS1 game, "The Legend of Dragoon". I'm not even sure how popular this RPG was, but it was my first, as it was also Sony's first attempt into the genre. Despite the reviews for it being poor, I loved this game. I played it when I was about 12 or 13, and although there were many parts of the game that were challenging, the final boss, Melbu Frahma, had me screaming cuss words at my TV. The fight is long, taking about 30+ minutes from what I remember. One thing that I really liked was how the scenery would change as the battle continued. As each scenario would change, so would Frahma. The change is scenery were referred to as "generations" and they projected the outcome of the world is he succeeded. The beginning of the fight started with bright skies, trees, etc. By the end of the fight, you were basically fighting in Hell.

I failed this fight several times, provided it was very difficult. I tried looking for some pictures online, and this was the best I came up with:

_______________________________

My next favorite was in the first game I bought for my PS3, Ninja Gaiden Sigma. I love action/adventure games, but don't seem to play them that often since I only like the Devil May Cry, God of War, and now Ninja Gaiden franchises. It wasn't the final boss in this game that I liked the most, but the main antagonist through the story:

Doku was a good fight because he wasn't huge like all of the other bosses in the game. You really have to rely of Ryu's agility, rather than strength in order to beat him. Even on easy difficulty, Doku will kill you in about 3 or 4 hits, so you have to constantly be rolling away from his attacks. You fight Doku 3 different times throughout the story, each time he will be more difficult.

____________________________________

This next one should not be a surprise to anyone:

Do I really have to justify this?

This will be my final blog about my favorite bosses. I feel like they are kind of boring for you guys to read (which is why I gave pictures ). My question for you guys is this: What is your all time favorite boss battle and why? I'm sure I missed some really good ones, and I'd love to know what you all enjoyed the most.

I'm considering doing another blog series similar to this but it will be "The most annoying things in video games". This could be certain people, certain tasks, etc. I'm not completely sold on the idea, but I feel it would be a more enjoyable read. Let me know what you guys thinks of the idea.

This is going to be my second installment of my favorite boss fights. Rather than rambling on about stuff you may or may not read, I'm just going to jump right into it.

For those of you who don't know, this is Nelo Angelo from Devil May Cry. You face him 3 times in the first game, and each I found very fun. Since he is about the same size as Dante (aside from his enormous sword), it was a nice break from the huge bosses that are known in the DMC series. The battle requires a lot of agility and quick timing on when to attack. Nelo Angelo is also Dante's brother for those of you who aren't familiar with the series (Don't worry, that's not a spoiler). If you come across Devil May Cry 3: Special Edition, you are able to play as Vergil, who can transform into Nelo Angelo. Both are very fun characters to play as.

___________________

Ares for God of War. This shouldn't come to a surprise to you, since I'm a huge God of War fan. Anyway, the fight between Ares and Kratos was truly epic. I think What I really like about this fight was the variety in it. You start off in a standard face off against Ares. After that, you're forced to protect your wife and daughter from a seemingly non-stop fleet at other Kratos'. You come back from the little mind game and fight Ares with a new sword, since the Blades of Chaos are taken from you.

The final blow to Ares was one of the most enjoyable things I've seen in a game before. You watch Ares slowly die and Kratos begins the claim the throne as the new God of War.

____________

Hitler from Wolfenstein 3D. This was the first FPS game ever created. I used to play this game as a kid and was glad to see it was available in the PS Store for $5. The picture above is actually his 2nd form. Earlier in the level, Hitler appears as a vampire-type thing that spits fireballs at you. Once you reach him as a boss, he is in some sort of power suit. Along with the power suit, he has FOUR machine guns. He can kill you in an instant if you're not careful. What I loved about this fight was that you rarely get to actually kill someone who actually existed. Games nowadays always have made up characters, which are still fun to kill, but don't beat the real thing. Getting to kill someone as infamous as Hitler is a real treat. Whether you're jewish or not, killing Hitler will be satisfying.

NOTE: Whoever took that above image, definitely died. Don't bring a knife to a dual machine gun fight. Lesson learned.

_________

Well, this concludes this blog. Leave some comments below and let me know what you all thought.

I've been REALLY bad about keeping up with blogs lately. Not just mine, but commenting on other people's as well. I apologize for that in advance and I'll try to get to them as diligently as I can.

Anyway, on topic. My favorite boss fights. If you have ever been (un)fortunate enough to play a game with me, you'll know that I get really mad at games. Although I get mad, over my 15 years of gaming, there have been some boss fights that I had really enjoyed. Some made me angry, while others were just plain fun. I'll be doing a series of blogs that will name some of my favorites.

They will be in no order whatsoever. As I reminisce of them, I'll be adding them to my blogs. I'll be doing 2 or 3 per blog. I'll be starting with the fight that made me decide to do this whole thing.

Any of you that were lucky enough to own an N64 as a kid, I really hope you didn't miss out on The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time. This may be one of the greatest masterpieces to ever have been created. I could probably write an entire blog on how great that game was, but I won't because I'm lazy. Nearly every boss on that game was great. One of them really stood out from the others those, and that was the final fight against Ganondorf. Right after you think you've beat him, you get this

This scared the 9-year-old crap out of me. I remember playing this with my older brother and specifically him yelling OHH MYYYY GODDDD!!!! He died shortly after. We spent probably 3 hours straight trying to kill Ganon, before we figured out you have to slash his tail. (Note: We SUCKED at video games). I guess it was also the last time we played games together too. After Zelda he started only playing Football and Baseball games.

The whole atmosphere of the fight though was great though. Dark skies, debris or a destroyed castle, and a wall of fire surrounding the arena. The whole mystery surrounding Ganon also made the fight unique. You see Ganondorf several times throughout the games, but there was no reference that he was some gigantic behemoth with 2 swords that were each bigger than Link.

______________________________________

Another boss fight that I loved was from Final Fantasy X. Again, if you never played this game I suggest you complete it sometime before you die. I put around 300 hours into this game. It was only my 2nd RPG ever (The Legend of Dragoon being my first). This game also falls into my Top 10 Games of all time. I'll try to make this so that it doesn't contain spoilers or give away the story of the game, in case some of you play this at some point. My favorite boss fight from this game was Sin. Sin is basically a monstrosity that torments the land of Spira for their "Sins".

Here's a shot of the big guy himself:

As big as he is, of course he can still die by swords and magic, which is good because if they went for realism, I don't think anything could destroy him. I really liked this fight thought just because of how huge Sin actually is. It's not just a standard face off, but rather a series of battles you must endure in order to destroy him. It a very lengthy boss fight, but I thought it was the perfect way to end such an amazing game.

Well, that does it for this blog. I'll have some more of my favorite boss fights up in a few days probably. Hopefully you all enjoyed this. I'll be getting into more current generation games at some point. Leave some comments below and let me know what you al thought.

Fri, 03 Apr 2009 06:52:50 -0700 Sure, Why Not??? http://www.gamespot.com/users/BPoole96/show_blog_entry.php?topic_id=m-100-25649453 What's up everyone? It's been a really long time since I've had a blog. I haven't had too much going on lately so there isn't much to talk about. That is, until I woke up today. Rather than waking up at 11 am for school, I woke up at 8 today.

Why you may ask?

Well, apparently someone thought it would be really funny to break into my car last night. My Dad was leaving for work and thought I had left my windows open and it was raining out. He came into my room to tell me how much of an idiot I am, so I go outside to put them up, and notice that not only do I no longer have windows in my car, but a lot of the stuff in the car is missing. Upon realizing what was missing from the car, and what was taken, I think I have been robbed by the biggest idiot in the world.

Here's what was taken vs. what was left:

Taken

$20 fleece jacket

Old, sweaty sweatpants I use for gym

Two $5 dollar bills

All the loose change

A bag of Dorito's (Understandable)

Not Taken

$150 Northface Jacket

"Expensive" Jeans

$20 I use for gas money

$200 radio system

$120 Sunglasses

As you can see, this guy doesn't seem to have good taste in things to steal. It's like he sorted everything out between good and bad, and took all the bad stuff. The part that sucks the most is the cost to replace the windows. Each window costs about $180 to replace, which is awesome. I can't think of anything else I would want to spend $720 on....

I don't believe this to be a hate crime though. Seeing how I don't really have any enemies that would do that, and the fact that this has happened a couple times to people on my road over the years, it is probably the same guy. If I see anyone waling down the road wearing my jacket or pants, I'll probably run him over, smash his face into the curb, or just continuously punch him in the face until I can not longer lift my arms. Who knows, maybe all 3.

If there's anything that pisses me off, it's theives. I've had stuff stolen from me in the past, and it just sends me through the roof. Although the vandalism is makes me a lot madder in this case, stealing was still the motive, although I don't think ALL the windows was completely necessary. One thing that does make me nervous is that the gas tank was open, so I'm hoping he didn't put something down there that will destroy my car, or kill me or something. I'm having the police come by soon to investigate it, although I don't expect much results.

Anyway, I have a question for those of you who comment, has anything thing been stolen from you? What was it? And how did you react to it being stolen. I'm curious to know. Thanks for reading, and I hope nothing like this happens to any of you.

Thu, 12 Feb 2009 13:43:24 -0800 Delicious Burrito http://www.gamespot.com/users/BPoole96/show_blog_entry.php?topic_id=m-100-25625553 What's up everyone? It's been awhile as always since my last blog. I've been quite busy with work and school and some other stuff. As I told navigata, the reason I haven't been keeping up on my blog is because my English teacher has a fetish for assigning her students essays. Since all my writing is going towards my essays, the thought of typing up a blog is not desirable (especially since my blogs are longer than the BS essays that I'm shelling out for this course lol).

Anyways, since I have lots to discuss and I know some people don't actually read everything in a blog, I'm going to break things into categories. This way, you can pick what you want to read about. Enjoy!

Story From English /span>

So in my English course I came in late the first day so I got stuck in the front center seat. It wasn't too bad because I sit between 2 girls that are pretty cute, but that's beside the point. The first day of clas we were instructed to write a "diagnostic" essay to see where our writing levels were at. We got those back this week and it turns out me and about 3 other people did the essay correctly. It was a compare/contrast essay on the good and bad uses of advertisement. So after I get mine back and see that mine was fine, I put it away. Then, my teacher says,"Since most of you did not do well on the essay, I want all of you to redo the essay. But this time, I want you all to use 3 different points rather than the 3 that you used because the points a lot of you guys used were poor."

Since I really hated writing that essay because of the bland topic, under my breath I said," Are you ******* kidding me *****?"

Since I do sit in the front, she obviously heard me. She is a short soft spoken woman, so she just stares at me for a second, and then says,"Okay everyone since a lot of you seem irritated, I'm going to let you all have a 15 minute break."

She did not say a word to me, so I just walked out of the room and enjoyed my break. Good times

My Visit to GameStop

After school one day, I wanted to go get a burrito from Chipotle, which is in the same shopping center as a GameStop. Before I got my food, I decided to go into in GameStop first. I go in there and just start browsing through the Ps3 games. A worker in the store comes up to me and asks,"Hey, you have a ps3? Are you going to get Killzone 2?"

I told him that I had already pre-ordered it.

This kid that was probably about 16 comes up to me and says "Hey, you're getting Killzone 2? Want to know a secret on how to be really good online??

I could tell by the way he said it that he was going to say something stupid, so I said,"Sure".

As I suspected, he said something stupid, he goes,"All you have to do is not get into a match with me. I'd own you."

Upon hearing this I couldn't help but burst out laughing. I said "Yeah, I'll make sure I watch my back when you're around." I said it in a real "**** you" kind of way and the worker at GameStop burst out laughing at the kid. The kid just stood there like a fool as we laughed at him. I should have punched him in the face just to make him look even dumber.

Killzone 2 Demo

I got around to playing the Killzone 2 demo and the game seems very promising. The graphics were stunning as I expected, but the aiming took a little getting used to. I ended up switching it to "Alternate 2" control settings which basically like CoD4 or R2. The cover system works well, but I felt that it was a little tough to get used to. You attach to cover using L2, and then press the left analog up to peek over the top. Once peeking over, you have to hold down L1 to aim and then R1 to shoot (this is with Alternate 2 settings). I found it to be kind of tedious since I hate using my middle finger to press L2/R2, but in this case I had to. The demo is quite short but you still get to see what the game is like and it gives you a nice taste for what is to come. I can't wait to pick up my copy on release day

Suspended From GameSpot

About a week or so ago, I was suspended for 2 days for using a term that begins with an "f" and rhymes with "bag". Apparently, this word is "extremely offensive" and "obscenely derogatory" according to the mods. I'm not saying I didn't deserve to be modded, but I tried reasoning with him saying that when someone uses that word nowadays, it barely means homosexual. This is what I said:

"The way the term is used nowadays loosely means homosexual. Saying the full word still holds the meaning, but the 3 letter variation has basically adopted a new meaning. When you call somebody the "B-word" are you actually calling them a female dog? No, because the word has gained a new meaning over time. When you call someone the other "B-word" are you really saying they do not have a father? Again, no, because there is a looser definition of the word. I won't use the word on the boards again since it seems everybody is way too sensitive, but that is why I feel the suspension is too harsh. Maybe a "slap on the wrist" would have been necessary."

I don't know. What do you guys think? The mod I discussed this with just said "uhh...no" after I said that, so I didn't really get feedback

Finished With My Ex-Girlfriend

I had told her after we broke up that I never wanted to talk to her again. She somehow convinced me to keep talking to her, but then she never really attempted to talk to me. I would text her every week or so to see how she was doing, but all she would want to talk about were the girls who were talking to me on facebook and if I'd hooked up with anybody. She treated it as if we were still together and would ***** at me for talking to other girls. It made no sense at all. Plus, when we talked she would always complain that she wanted to go to bed even though it was like 10pm.

It seemed as if I was nothing but a bother to her life. The other night she said she couldn't talk because she was "straightening out her life". Seeing how I am no longer a part of her life anymore, I called her last night and ended things. She literally had no objection to it which was upsetting to me since she could have just done that from the start and I'd be over it already. Since she had to go (obviously) we did not really give a formal "good-bye" to each other.

Since I'm not supposed to call or text her again, I decided that I'm going to write her a long e-mail saying good bye and stuff. I'm debating on whether or not I should include some of the things that I would like to get off my chest (such as cheating) to make myself feel better. At this point, I can't say I really care about her feelings too much. I may hold off on the email until I know exactly what I want to say to her.

It's hard for me though since I did spend 2+ years of my life with her. I guess everything comes to an end though. I'm not going to sweat it too much.

New Pizza at Work

I posted a couple blogs ago about a new possibility for a pizza at my job. The pizza I suggested ended up winning, which was a regular pizza with chicken glazed over with ranch dressing and then regular bacon and pre-cooked bacon added onto it. It ended up being between my pizza and a pizza that DorkieTimmy had suggested. We tried putting the steak from a steak and cheese sub onto the pizza after it came out of the oven. It tasted really good but the grease from the steak got into the crust and and caused the whole pizza to get soggy very quickly.

That pretty much sums things up for this blog. I hope you all enjoyed it. As for the title "Delicious Burrito" its because that's what I was eating while I wrote this. I had to stop by Chipotle again to get one since they are, in fact, delicious. Anyways, thanks for reading! Leave some comments below!

Tue, 27 Jan 2009 13:28:06 -0800 Back at School + Bored http://www.gamespot.com/users/BPoole96/show_blog_entry.php?topic_id=m-100-25617637 How it going everyone? I'm actually kind of fortunate to even be writing this blog right now since I was nearly in a car accident this morning. It snowed a bunch this morning so obviously my driveway was covering with ice/snow. I was leaving on my way to school (which was BS, because all the other schools were cancelled). My driveway is fairly steep and poses as an annoyance when it is icy. So I'm slowly going down my driveway and try to stop at the end since traffic was coming. What do you know? My car refuses to stop because it is sliding down on the ice. As I'm pounding down the brakes I look to my left and see a truck with a snow plow on the front going about 40 mph coming right at me. I was almost certain I would be spending today in the hospital, but fortunately the guy noticed me sliding into the road and swerved into the opposite lane and missed me. What a way to start my day :/.

Anyways, I started school up yesterday. Mondays, Wednesday, and Fridays I start at 1 p.m. so I have some time before school which is nice. I only had Sociology since my other course doesn't start until next week. All we really did was read little exerts from articles saying like "The US Welfare policy puts a strain on the Federal Budget" and make an argument either for or against it and discuss it with our 4 person groups. One girl in my group named Kara found my view on things to be funny so seemed kind of interested in me. We talked to each other for about 30 minutes after class and exchanged phone numbers. She's a year old than me, but that doesn't mean much to me. It was nice to actually make a friend though.

Today I had my Elements of Statistics course as well as my Intro to Business. Both seemed equally boring and very unappealing to me. The business course requires two 12 page essays during the semester which I am definitely not looking forward to since they ask for citations for research we use. It seems doable though. Just a pain I suppose..

As far as being bored, it kind of bad. I have been so bored with games and everything that I actually started playing Call of Duty 4 again. Man, I hate that game. I really don't even know why I play it. I get no sense of satisfaction no matter how good I do. I'll play a match and go 34 and 3 and not feel the slightest bit good because the 3 deaths I had were do to utter BS that people pull since they think their good. For instance, I died once because someone threw a smoke grenade, so a guy on the other team throws 2 grenades in the smoke and then sprays his gun left and right and kills me with a stray bullet. Yawn. All too common. After a couple matches in a row I don't even feel like playing it anymore, but I don't have any other games to play right now. I'm considering going back and getting the platinum for Uncharted, but I am indecisive on that.

On a more positive note on gaming, I FINALLY received my platinum trophy for Resistance 2 due to the 1.40 Patch. The patch fixed various flaws with the game which I will not go into detail about. I am glad that Insomniac addressed the problems with the game and were able to fix them. What was also cool about the patch is that when my PS3 broke a few months back I had lost my level 30 medic for the co-op mode. The patch also reimbursed my medic so now I can use it again in co-op. I was very glad to hear about this patch when Chaos_Bladez told me about it and I would like to thank him for that

Well, that wraps up this blog. I have to go to work now anyway for another fun filled night there. Thanks for reading! Leave some comments below.
