Although neither of my parents has any money (both have been out of a job for about 6+ months now). Luckly, as far as money goes, I've been doing alright. So, most of my paycheck has been going to Christmas presents. I've spent over $200 on presents and I keep remembering more people to buy for! That's alright though because I know that no one (at least in my family) has been doing alright finacially.

In other news, I'm done with my finals! The semester is FINALLY over! I'm going to do nothing but play games. Hopefully I'll be able to finish a few of them, Uncharted being at the top of my list.

In other other news, I just realised that my banner needs changing...it still says June 2009 profile. Shows how long I was gone. lol Hopefully I'll get around to changing that because it is starting to bug me a bit.

Sorry if this blog was poorly written (what is new). lol I'm not all here because I'm pretty sure I've got a nasty case of food poisoning or something like it. Anyways, hope everyone has a great weekend. Look out for the crazy Christmas shoppers/drivers!

Fri, 04 Dec 2009 23:44:49 -0800 Level 30! About time... http://www.gamespot.com/users/Amnesiac23/show_blog_entry.php?topic_id=m-100-25765766 It's crazy how long it took me to become level 30. I've been here for 3 years and 3 months and I know of people who have been here for the exact same amount of time but are level 40s. Oh well...

As for life, had bronchitis for the last week of my college semester, which made life veeerrry miserable. I should be used to it though because I get either Pneumonia or Bronchitis every single year.

And now that I have a break from school I can FINALLY start playing video games again. The game I'm playing right now is Uncharted. My goal is to finish it so that I can buy the second one and finish it before the Spring semester starts (January 11). Eventually I hope to get around to playing Assassin's Creed II as well.

Hope everyone has a great weekend!

It's a repeating cycle that I can't stop. I've been working part time and going to college full time AND I'm in a serious relationship. Doesn't allow much time for being on GameSpot. But I miss it, so I'm going to try and post blogs and keep up with friends again. And since this symester is almost over (2 more days!), I'll be able to be a little more active.

Thu, 04 Jun 2009 12:22:06 -0700 E3 2009 and Losing my Wallet http://www.gamespot.com/users/Amnesiac23/show_blog_entry.php?topic_id=m-100-25679697 Got a couple of things to cover here. First is E3 2009.

Microsoft: As usual, Microsoft blew me away with their presentation. The stage looked amazing, they had celebrities, and best of all, they didn't spend a huge amount of time talking about numbers. All the games looked great and the finale, Project Natal, amazed me. Whether Natal/Milo work that well now is not a huge concern to me. I just think that it's great that companies are looking into this technology and now have dev kits to play around with it. Good job Microsoft!

Nintendo: This conference was not as bad as last year, but it was close. The audience was quiet (for whatever reason), the stage didn't pack a punch, and the overall presentation was very dull. This made for a very boring press conference that could have been more exciting because they had a pretty good line up of games.
I am a little worried about Mario Galaxy 2 because it DID look just like the first one, but hopefully there is more to it than just a Galaxy add on.
I hate to jump on the band wagon and say this, but I do think Nintendo is alienating their fanbase. They have focused too much on the casual audience when they should have focused on their Hardcore fanbase and Casual players equally. Nintendo, if you were a person I would slap you to try and knock some sense into you. I miss the old Nintendo!

Sony: Sony's press conference was pretty good. Stage was well set up, the presentation was alright, and there were some great games that were shown. What was a little frustrating is the fact that the PSP Go had already been leaked, so that wasn't a shock. But Final Fantasy XIV was a nice surprise, even though it isa MMO (I might play it) and the motion sensing technology looked really good, although not as good as Natal. But overall, good job Sony!

IN OTHER NEWS...
Lost my wallet in Burger King yesterday, but didn't realise it till today. Went there to eat with Michael (hadn't seen him in a week! lol) and it must have fallen out of my purse. Luckely an elderly ladyturned it in. That's a really bad neighborhood and that wallet had my Social Security card, Drivers license, debit card, and insurance cards in it. Today has been a NIGHTMARE. But at least Michael went back and found it today.

Hope everyone enjoyed E3 and has a great weekend!

Sat, 30 May 2009 13:12:18 -0700 Walgreens/New Job http://www.gamespot.com/users/Amnesiac23/show_blog_entry.php?topic_id=m-100-25676315 So now that I'm working my *** off full time and trying to sqeeze in time with Michael and other daily life bull ****, I have not had time to get on GameSpot. And worst of all, I'm going to miss all 3 live E3 press conferences. So no emblem for me (unless I get a family member to log me on). Please kill me.

Work is going alright, but this was my first week and they tried to make me work this weekend as well. That would have been 7 days working in a row (8-10 hour days). My manager actually ASKED me if I wanted to work that kind of sceadule and I told her no. Apperently someone forgot. But I switched hours with someone so I could have this weekend off. Can not WAIT to start school and start working part time. Don't get me wrong though, I love my job. Just don't want to work 7 days in a row and then get 2 days off and do it all over again.

Anyways, this is why I haven't been on lately. My free time, what little I have, is spent playing the new Shin Megami: Devil Summoner 2 game. It's a great game so far, although I haven't gotten very far.

Hope everyone's weekend is going well. (Wish I could have written a more well written blog, but my mind is in such a fog...sorry lol)

Fri, 22 May 2009 10:29:19 -0700 Finished a game and bought some new ones. http://www.gamespot.com/users/Amnesiac23/show_blog_entry.php?topic_id=m-100-25672271 Dreamfall did not take long to finish, which is sad because I loved that game so very much. I did, however, order The Longest Journey for the PC last night. So I'm looking foward to getting that in the mail and finally playing it.
In the meantime I've bought Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Summoner 2 and I can't wait to start playing it. It's really sad that I love the Shin Megami series, but I've only finished one Shin Megami game (Persona 3). But I'm going to dedicate my gaming time to this one and make sure I finish it.

Anyways, today is my first day at my new job so wish me luck

PS: Hope everyone has a great weekend!!

Thankfully, my writing has improved from when I first started writing.

Anyways, make sure to check out my Dreamfall and My Japanese Coach reviews (links below).

^ I gave this game a perfect 10, and I know many may not agree but this is just one of those games that hit me in just the right way and is one of my favorites.

^ This review is a couple weeks old but I still consider it to be pretty new.

Thanks for reading and don't forget to rate. Hopefully I'll post more soon.

Sun, 17 May 2009 16:34:04 -0700 Worst Day Ever AND A new job (!) http://www.gamespot.com/users/Amnesiac23/show_blog_entry.php?topic_id=m-100-25670203 Worst Day Ever = Thursday May 15 2009

Last week I was working a temp job cleaning fire/smoke damaged apartments in a REALLY rough neighborhood right here in Columbia. You know a job site is rough when you pass two hookers and multiple drugs deals within a stretch of 3 miles. But anyways, there were 4 apartments. Two on the bottom floor and two on the top floor, and the one on the bottom was the one that caught fire. We cleaned the bottom apartment in a day and a half and I can tell you that the mess I cleaned had ZERO to do with the fire. That was a nasty nasty apartment. Mold, stains, dirty walls, dist about an inch thick, you name it. Luckily we only clean the walls and structure. The apartment on the top floor however was kept very nice by it's owners, but very badly damaged by the smoke. Every surface was covered in black, and the walls looked like something out of a horror movie. They were a dark grey with thick black lines running down. I just stood in the doorway and thought "I do not envy the people who are going to have to clean this...", until I realised that I was one of those people. lol But even though it was hard work, I really enjoyed it. At the end of the day I was covered in soot and my fingers ached but I felt like I accomplished something.

Anyways, onto my firstday at work and the worst day I've suffered in a LONG time.
I had just gottenoff work, which was 8 hours of cleaning in a 80-85degree apartment. I was happy toget off work. Me and the lady I was working with got into the workvan and she drove us back. But on the way back we got into a car accident. It wasn't anything major, but it was enough to scare me (she lain changed, and didn't see another carthere). After that I was just readyto gohome.
I had my mompick me up in my car becausemy mothers car was in the shop and I didn'tknow my way around that side of town. So we about half wayhome, going down the interstate at 70 mph, my car starts to smoke and shuts off. This scared thehell out of me.It was 5o'clock traffic andwe had to jump out on the drivers side which was the safest place to get out because it was right next to the concrete barrier. We got it cranked up and managed to driveto town and drop it off at Herndon Chevy. We knowsome technicians down there and they are great, so I really trust them to find out what is wrong. Andthe guy said he isgoing to go over every inchof the car to make sure nothing else goeswrong.
I was talking to a woman at my temp job and she saidshehad the same model car (except it was a 92) and shehad the exactsame thing happen to her. Her'swas a coil or something like that. Whatever the case, I just want my car back.I'msure the guywho sold it to us had no idea, so I don't blamehim.

Thereis one good thingthat happened that day though. Walgreenscalled and told me to come in for an interview.Sadly I thought I wouldn't be able to make itbecause I was working my tempjob thatsame day she wanted to interview me. But the woman I was working with over heard my conversation and told me she understood and she would tell her boss I was meeting her over at the apartmentswe werecleaning. That wayhe would never know I was 2 hours late. So I went to the interview and she saidoutofall the people she had been interviewing the last coupledaysI was the best and she wanted tohire me. So I got the job even though she wanted someone who could be full time (I'll be working full time until the fall). YAY!! About time. And the job is VERY similar toGameStop, so I don't think it'll take long to get into the groove of things.

Anyways, I hope everyone hashad a great weekend Sorry for the long blog.

I couldn't afford one before now and my family has been rather broke. But I've finally got my first car. We got the car through a family friend by trading our 1995 Ford Aerostar van for a Mustand LX Hatchback (1993). No one drove the van and it was pretty much just an emergency car. I'll have to take a picture of it and post it, but it's green, has less than 80,000 miles on it, has had all the work done to it (which was very little), oil changed, cleaned, and it gets around 33-35highway miles (about 26 in the city). I'm very happy to nothave to share a car anymore.I'm going to make sure to take great car of thiscarbecause it's going to need to last me about4-5years at least.

Anyways, hope everyone has a goodnight anda greatWednesday!

Sat, 09 May 2009 14:33:43 -0700 Bad parenting and video games - A rant http://www.gamespot.com/users/Amnesiac23/show_blog_entry.php?topic_id=m-100-25666466 There is something that has been annoying me lately, and that is the talk of violent/sexual video games affecting children in negative ways and the fact that parents buy these games for their children. When I worked at GameStop, many times children would walk up to the counter and ask me if they could buy Grand Theft Auto. These children many times were only about a 1 foot taller than the counter, so needless to say they were young. I ask the child where his/her parents were and they would say, "oh, mommy is at Wal-Mart" or "She is getting her nails done". Another scenario that bugged me was when parents would walk their young children in and buy GTA for them (or something similar. I am using GTA as a general violent/sexual game reference). I've seen many parents who would buy these types of games for their children who would, sometimes,be as young as SIX. I asked a mother once how young her little boy was and if he would be playing this game that she was purchasing and the answer was "six and yes".
I would go on to read the ESRB content description the back of the box and many parents would rudely interrupt me with a snappy "I know!", as if to say"you are not a parent, you don't know what you are talking about". The thing about this that irritates me is that these children have obviously pitched a fit for the game before they got to the store (or sometimes they would do this inside the store).
Another scenario that I saw many times were teenagers or tweens who would come into the store trying to buy a mature rated game. I would ask them their age and many times they would nervously tell me the truth. I would ask them to come back with their parents. At this point they would search the store for someone who looks about 17 or 18 and get them to try and buy the game for them. I never allowed this, but some fellow co-workers sometimes would.

The problem I have with all these parents complaining about video games and how they are making children violent is the above. Only about a hand full of times did I tell a parent about the game and how it was not meant to be played by children, and they did not buy it. That is pathetic. I may not be a parent but I can guarantee that when I take my 8 year child into a GameStop (or whatever) in the future I will not buy them Grand Theft Auto because "they have to have it" or "all the other kids have it". The lack of parenting skills today is sometimesatrocious.Parents have no right to complain about video games when they are buying these games for their children as a babysitting tool or just flat out not monitoring what they're children watch and/or play.

My messege to parents, do your research. If you have access to a computer, get online an read about these games. There are parent friendly web sites like WhatTheyPlay.com and, of course, the ESRB website. These sites have reviews by not only editors but fellow parents as well. Taking your time to find out what your kids are playing and what they maybe shouldn't be playing is better than walking into a GameStop blind.
Also, spend time with your children. Some of my favorite memories were with my mom and dad at the park or my mother pulling me in the wagon. My parents were strict when it came to video games when I was growing up (the ps1 era) and in this day and time you have to be even more aware as to what is out there.
Don't let the games babysit your children.

Thanks for reading my rant

Well, almost. Tomorrow I will be a level 29. Been here for 3 years but am just not reaching level 29. Thanks to the extra points I got from voting for GameSpot, I've leveled up a little quicker as well. (thanks GameSpot!)

In other news, I went to see Star Trek today and I really enjoyed it. I think everyone played their characters really well. I'm sure the die hard fans maybe didn't enjoy the movie as much as I did. lol

Hope everyone is having a great weekend!

Sun, 03 May 2009 13:07:02 -0700 Exercising and getting healthy http://www.gamespot.com/users/Amnesiac23/show_blog_entry.php?topic_id=m-100-25663658 Over this last winter, I really have gotten out of shape. Eating out and not exercising are a bad combination. Luckly I haven't let my self get to badly out of shape, but I'm still not happy with my eating habits.
So, this summer I'm not going to eat out but maybe once every two weeks, which saves money as well. I'm going to exercise about 4-5 days a week. And I'm going to start eating more healthy foods.
I started exercising again about 1 week ago and I'm starting to feel pretty good. I've been doing a combination of strength training, walking, and Wii Fit.
People can say what they want about Wii Fit, but my neighborhood is too dangerous to go walking in so when I want to walk or run I have to drive to the park. And gyms cost money that I do not have. So the Wii Fit, at least for me, was a great buy.

I'm really looking forward to getting back and shape, feeling better about how I look, and just feeling better in general.

Hope everyone has had a great weekend

Wed, 22 Apr 2009 16:29:06 -0700 Need to finish a game! http://www.gamespot.com/users/Amnesiac23/show_blog_entry.php?topic_id=m-100-25658573 Maybe I spend too much time playing games, but I'm bored. Out of a collection of 200+ games I feel like I have nothing to play. I wish a really great game would come along and take up all of my time. Maybe this is me subconsciously telling myself to start exercising more...lol

Anyways, here are some games I'm thinking about finishing. Which one do you think I should finish first?:
- Lost Odyssey: I started playing this game around the beginning of 2008. I've gotten to the 4th disc but stopped playing for some reason. Maybe another game came out around the same time or something came up in my life but I never finished this game. Shouldn't take too long to beat
- Star Ocean: The Last Hope: I started playing thisabout a month or two agoand I'm on the 3rd (final) disc. I think I got so caught up in trying to get all of the battle trophies that I got burnt out on this game.
- Afro Samurai: This is the most recent game that got pushed aside due to me playing Braid and Viva Pinata all the time. I'm pretty close to the end.

I hope everybody has a great rest of the week

Thu, 16 Apr 2009 10:31:57 -0700 Motion Sickness and Video Games http://www.gamespot.com/users/Amnesiac23/show_blog_entry.php?topic_id=m-100-25655737 Recently, any time I'm playing a fast paced action game or a shooter I start to get extremely sick. I first experienced this with Half-Life and since then it has been getting progressively worse.
My problem might be that I have a cataract inmy right eye that I was born with and my vision in that eye has been getting worse over the past couple of years. I've never been able to see out of that eye anyways, so being almost blind in that eye doesn't bother me. What bothers me is the fact that any time I'm around bright light I need to wear sunglasses because of the pain. Another thing that bothers me is motion sickness and my depth perception. My depth perception is pretty bad. I'm always running into walls or spilling drinks or tripping. So naturally, I would like to have the cataract removed but sadly that is not an option in my case seeing as three different eye doctors have said the same thing about operating on it, it's too risky and I probably won't be able to see anyways because that eye has never really been used.

I played video games for years without this being that much of a problem. But ever since my vision started getting worse it's just been a battle for me to play action games or shooters. Any time I try and play Super Mario Galaxy, problems ensue. The only thing that I have found that actually helps is Dramamine. I was listening to the HotSpot a while back and someone recommended it, so I tried it and it worked. But there is still a problem. It's about $5 for a pack. And a pack of Dramamine will last me about 1 video game. Right now I'm playing Afro Samurai and I have to take one almost every time just to finish the game. So if any one knows of anything else that helps motion sickness please PM me or leave a comment. I would love to find something that didn't cost so much money.

Tue, 07 Apr 2009 11:04:27 -0700 Cooper River Bridge 10k and Vacation! I'm proud of myself :) http://www.gamespot.com/users/Amnesiac23/show_blog_entry.php?topic_id=m-100-25651271 Well, guess what my out of shape *** did over the weekend? I did the Cooper River Bridge run in Charleston, except I walked

We got up around 4 am, got ready and got to the shuttle buses (which were school buses this year...) which took everyone to Mount Pleasent. I was in running shorts and my Cooper River Bridge T-Shirt and my GOD, I was cold.
So me, my boyfriend and my dad waited for about 3 hours for the race to start. Once it did start I realised that all that waiting had takena toll on my bladder. I have a bladder condition, but I thought there would be some port-a-johns on the 6.2 mile journey that I was embarking on. But I was sorely mistaken. All of the port-a-johns were at the VERY beginning of the walk. I saw 2 when I got off the bridge, but I didn't want to wait in that line.
So anyways, I had to stop at a gas station that had only one bathroom and I had to wait in line for so long that me, Michael and my dad ended up at the VERY last place. Not a big deal because some Ethiopian fellow one the race in 24 mins anyways. Most people don't do it to RACE, but to say they did it.
But when the police car is following you, it's a little worrying. lol Luckley we gained some speed and past a couple 100 people or so. But my bladder hurt SO bad because of my condition. I thought about stopping a couple times but I really wanted to do this for myself. I couldn't give up half way through! Although I did need to find another bathroom. So as soon as we got off the Bridge (which takes up most of the walk) I saw a Church's chicken. I saw an old lady runner come out of there and thought, if she can use their bathroom I can too. WRONG. Those *** holes locked me out. So I gave them the finger and a couple choice words and finally found one at an Ice Cream shop. lol
But I am proud of myself for completing that walk. It's made me want to start getting back into shape again.

As for the rest of my vacation, it was great. We went to the Market, out to eat, etc. But one of my favorite moments was with Michael. Me and him, right after the race went to East Bay street and walked out onto my favorite pier. It's really beautiful, it's a huge pier with a roof over the large wooden swings. We sat on the swings for a while and watched the cruise liner and looked out at Patriots Point (old war ships are docked there) and the sail boats. Then we got up and walked to the end of the pier and there were dolphins jumping up out of the water about 15 feet away from the edge of the pier. One of the many reasons I love Charleston; there are SO many little things like that to enjoy.

Hope everyone else had a great weekend and is having a good week!

Mon, 30 Mar 2009 15:09:04 -0700 Childhood friend murdered, RIP http://www.gamespot.com/users/Amnesiac23/show_blog_entry.php?topic_id=m-100-25647811 On sunday morning I was woken up by a phone call from my mother telling me to come home right away. I asked her what was going on and she then told me that one of my very first friends had been shot in the faceon Friday the 27th.

Let me elaborate on that "childhood friend" thing first off. I met her when I first moved into the neighborhood I'm currently living in, which was almost 13 years ago. I was 6, about to turn 7 and me, her and a boy who lived on the corner (Eric) used to hang out. But she wasn't really NICE to me. In fact I got beat up by her on an almost daily basis. So in other words, she was a bully. And most of my friends growing up were bullies (I didn't have many because I was home schooled). When I was about 9 or 10, Kelli started getting into some rough stuff. She was 13 or 14 then and was hanging with a rough crowd. My mom said I couldn't hang out with her so I stopped seeing much of her.
But between her and my "best friend", I turned into a bully and beat up kids and started fights for the hell of it. I was a pretty mean girl for years. But I grew out of that. Kelli on the other hand just kept hanging out with that rough crowd.
And for years, if I tried to walk down to other kids houses, she would sometimes confront me and we would get into really heated arguments (police were called several times). But that was when we were younger.
I hadn't seen much of her recently to tell the truth, but I did think about her from time to time.

So, when this happened a lot of things went through my mind. I should have apologize for all the arguments (at least for my part of the argument). I should have made a little bit of peace. I don't think she was a bad person, she just had problems. And even though she bullied me, she was still one of my first friends.

Anyways, I visited her mom and I hope none of you ever have to see someone who is dealing with the death of a murdered child (or go through it yourself). About half way through the conversation we were having she told us that she just wanted to die. I really wish I could do more for her and her family. Me and my mom are going to keep an eye on her for a while, just to make sure she doesn't do anything, because she is all alone in that house.

I just wish she would have figured out what I figured out when I was about 16, that making enemies and fighting is not worth it.

Rest in Peace Kelli. And I'm sorry for all that was said and done, on my part. May not have been my friend in the normal sense of the word but I've realized that I still cared for you enough to mourn your passing. I hope your life, even though it was short, was a good one.

Thu, 26 Mar 2009 09:37:57 -0700 Level 28 :) and life stuff http://www.gamespot.com/users/Amnesiac23/show_blog_entry.php?topic_id=m-100-25645764 Getting to Level 28 didn't take long at all. lol Usually levels don't go by that quickly for me.

Anyways, right now I'm tired as **** because I'm working the graveyard shift. 12 am-9 am. And for some reason I can't go back to sleep although I really need to if I'm going to survive tonight. Ugh...I hope they change my hours after I'm done training. This is the same shift my boyfriends been doing and now I see why he hates it so much. It's like trying to turn yourself into a vampire (without the drinking blood and immortality lol) and the human body just isn't made for that. But, it's a job.
(BTW: You must excuse the lazy way this blog is written. To tired to think...)

Onto other news. I'm almost done with Star Ocean: The Last Hope. Once it's completed, I'll hopefully have a little money because there are so many games on my wish list. Some of the ones at the top of my wish list are: MadWorld, Prinny: Can I Really Be the Hero, Gears of War 2, and Loco Roco 2. I'm really looking forward to getting MadWorld because from all I've heard, that strikes me as my type of game even though it may be short.

Thu, 19 Mar 2009 10:56:58 -0700 Randomness on Games, E3, and job http://www.gamespot.com/users/Amnesiac23/show_blog_entry.php?topic_id=m-100-25642484 Okay. To start my blog off, I get my uniform tomorrow and fill out MORE paper work for my new job in security. I had to sit through an 8 hour test on Tuesday. And most of the stuff I already knew because my boyfriend and his room mate work for the same company. But atleast it's over with and I passed.Anyways, I'm looking forward toworkingbutit's going to be a while before I see my first pay check because I get payedbi-weekly. But at least I'm making money.
Making money right now is pretty much top priority too because my mom just got layed off from her job of 25 years and my parents are going through a divorce so I have to help her outwith the money orwe will lose the house. Andwe only have about 6-7 years before it's payed off.But I think things will be alright as long as I have a job.

Now, onto happier things. I don't know if anyone has seen my wish list on this site but itis huge for my standards.I'm really looking forward to making money againso I can afford to buy myself a new game. I haven't been able to buya game for myself in such a long time and thereare some games on that list I'm really looking forward to getting. And for some reason a lot of the games I'm looking forward to buying are PSP titles. Alot of people argue that the PSP has very few games that are good. But for an RPG fanatic like me, it's a paradise right now. There are a ton of RPG titles on the PSP that I really want to buy. Persona, which should be coming out this year, is at the top of my list though.

And last but not least for my blog of randomness, E3. lol Yes, this is about 3 months away or so but I'm looking forward to seeing what they do with E3 this year. It's not going to be the sad, pathetic, terrible show that was E3 2008...or so everyone keeps saying. It's of course not open to the public, but then again it never really was. You could never just waltz into E3 like most people on this site like to believe. So at least it's getting back to the way things were, although I don't think it will be the size of 2006 or anything butI'm still looking forward to it. Wonder what theme GameSpot is going to use this year for E3 and the emblems...

Wed, 11 Mar 2009 07:25:24 -0700 A New Job http://www.gamespot.com/users/Amnesiac23/show_blog_entry.php?topic_id=m-100-25638407 I applied for a security job about 2 or 3 weeks ago. My father had connections and had gotten Michael, my boyfriend, a job with the same company after the Ford dealership he and my dad work at layed him off. I've been without a job now for almost 6 months, and because of that LP bull **** with GameStop (read previous blogs. I didn't steal anything lol) it was extremely hard to get a job. Yes, I could have hired a lawyer, seeing as all my co-workers actually wanted me to, but I didn't have the money and now the the time limit on my case is up. Anyways, I think it took so long for my SLED background check to come back because of the loss of jobs at SLED and the loss of jobs in general in South Carolina. South Carolina is 3rd in the Nation right now in job loss (we are at 9.7% job loss). So hopefully I won't find a way to **** up this opportunity. lol I REALLY need this job because I have bills I need to pay and the job pays $10 an hour, or so I've been told. I could actually care less about what they payed though at this point.

Wed, 04 Mar 2009 08:17:10 -0800 Star Ocean and that **** ing voice acting http://www.gamespot.com/users/Amnesiac23/show_blog_entry.php?topic_id=m-100-25635047 I love this series. It's right up there with Final Fantasy in my book. But there is something about JRPGs that disturbs me sometimes and that is the voice acting and translation. Us Americans can always find a way to screw it up.
But that's not the only problem. A lot of the problem lies with the translation. Some things DO NOT translate well into english. I know enough of the Japanese language to know. (I can speak sentences now! Nothingoverly complicated though).

I really think that this could be solved if youcould switch between Japanese and American voices in these games. Nippon-ichi does that with their games. If you want to listen to the Japanese voices, you are more than welcome to. And some Atlus games are like that too (Odin Sphere was one). It just seems silly not to include it! It's a Japanese RPG for god sake. The culture of Japan is infused in the game. And the companies always say that they don't want to cheat their American voice actors by including the original voices, but if the Americans are making no sense then I would much rather hear the Japanese.

An example of what I'm talking about: the characters Welch and Lymle. VERY annoying. My dear god...it's hard to stand sometimes. lol But the sad thing is their Japanese counterparts did an amazing job. Those characters are pretty muchonly make sense in Japanese. Lymle saying ",kay" at the end of every second doesn't make any sense. Cute in Japanese, not cute in English.

So happy that is off my chest. lol
