Wow.... I'm utterly speechless. Never in my wildest dreams have I witnessed such horror. To think that comparing a game to Big Rigs racing will end up as an insult to Big Rigs is something I used to joke about, a very long time ago. We all used to sit down and laugh at how terrible Action 52 was with it's broken games and false promises.... all of which pale in comparison to this horrid atrocity.

At least you can bloody play Big Rigs: Over The Road Racing.

The game starts with the player controlling an old lady at the gate of what appears to be a cemetery. There is a path that leads to a far away bench that sits beneath a mausoleum of some kind. There seem to be some deviating paths on the way, although the game forces you on aforesaid narrow straight line with no ability to stray from it. And as you might suspect, being an old lady means that you walk at a painfully slow pace, occasionally limping like a wounded rabbit for what would seem like an eternity, before sitting your ass down on the bench at the end so we can see a close-up view of her horribly jagged and poorly textured face while listening to a poorly subtitled song in German. Then the lady has to stand up, and the player gets the incredibly tedious task of walking back to the entrance, whereupon you can gaze at the credits (if you haven't) and possibly write down the names of the people involved with it just in case you'd want to kill them all, which I presume will happen sooner or later when people realize they paid 5 USD for this "game" that would be embarassed by ****ing ET on the Atari 2600.

Many questions seem to arise from the paper thin plot of this game, like who is this woman? why did she come here? and most importantly, why should I give a rat's buttock? all of which seem to remain unanswered at the end of the 5-10 minutes it takes to finish this "game". Some people say that it's open to interpretation and that excuses the game's length and overall lack of substance. Sadly, what most people view as art, I view as bollocks. Big, fat, hairy bollocks that exist only to hide the fact that developers are lazy, from gullible folks that generally consider tripe like this as high Art.

Common arguments also include:
"Oh, but it's unique", Well, so is a cheese and dog shit sandwich.
"Oh, it's dark". And so is my stool. And the doctor says that's a bad thing.

Case in point, if everything your game has to offer is in the above criteria, then something has gone horribly wrong somewhere. A game cannot stand on it's own with merely an art direction and no substance at all. In an industry where people make games, this is simply unacceptable. In The Graveyard's case, I'm not sure it even qualifies as a short movie. It has no plot to speak of and only one completely blank and unrelatable character. There is no atmosphere to speak of, either. This is storytelling at it's absolute worst. And you know that something is horribly wrong when games like Final Fantasy 13 have better storyteling and characters.

This game has absolutely no redeeming qualities. There is nothing here that would satisfy anyone other than the lowest common denominator - The bottom of the barrel of expectations. Even other bad games have at least some substance, no matter how terrible they are. You could at least spend some time laughing at the bad design choices, the awful voice acting, the crappy graphics.... etc. The Graveyard doesn't even offer the chance to laugh at it, with the game being so terribly short and linear, you will be more occupied with how painfully boring it is. And I'll be buggered if I have to play it again just to rip it apart some more.

Thu, 21 Feb 2013 08:57:46 -0800 weedman1985 reviewed The Walking Dead: A Telltale Games Series for the PC... http://www.gamespot.com/the-walking-dead-a-telltale-games-series/user-reviews/807812/platform/pc/ ...and gave it a 6.0.

The Walking Dead represented a rather difficult moral dilemma for me. On one hand the game is an astonishing piece of storytelling and atmosphere, but on the other, a pretty bland and unchallenging adventure game.

The core of the problem is the fact that the touted "moral choice" system is rather lacking. Over the ten or so hours it takes to finish all five episodes, there are only a few moral dilemmas that actually have any effect on your progress that are more than just cosmetic, while the vast majority of them don't really change the outcome of a situation. For example, there is a moment early on in the game where you have to either save a kid or the ranch owner's son from the zombie horde, and no matter who you choose, the outcome will always be the same. It feels like a missed opportunity to do something truly outstanding with the game.

There is a lot of evidence to suggest that the framework was in place to accommodate specific gameplay, but was then repurposed for other means or scrapped entirely. The rail shooting sequences are a good indication for this if nothing else, which suggest survival horror elements that could have been easily implemented if they had the permission or time to do so. Instead, the game is riddled with QTEs and unchallenging, but thankfully brief, shooting galleries that might as well could have been part of a cut scene, considering the emotional impact they have on the players.

The rest is your usual adventure game affair, although the words which best describe this game are "squandered potential", since almost every aspect of it is head scratchingly simplistic, as if it was bent into shape to smoothen out the half finished ideas the developer team tried to implement in to the game. The core of the game - the actual puzzles - usually don't take longer than a few seconds to figure out, and the hints the game generiously throws your way if you fail, usually give away the solution to the puzzle, which doesn't go well with the whole "gameplay" aspect of the game.

The Walking Dead also begs for survival horror elements and unscripted zombie encounters that would have benefited the game significantly by adding some much needed tension. The ability to resolve different situations by using different characters' skills to your advantage wouldn't have been amiss. In fact, there are several moments in the game where you enlist Clementine to help climb into places unreachable by other NPCs, which begs the question "why wasn't this mechanic used more often?"

On the plus side, the story is interesting and well told for the most part, though the characters are less than sympathetic which , I suppose, is understandable given the situation. There are some contrivances here and there, that are blatantly shoehorned into the plot to raise the stakes, but overall the game provides a very compelling and dramatic story with interesting characters and unpredictable plot twists to keep you playing to the very end.

The story is sadly the only reason to invest your time in this game, since the episodes are disappointingly short and horribly overpriced unless bundled together. In addition, the lacking gameplay and easy puzzles will likely disappoint adventure game veterans, while other people will probably enjoy it once and never touch this game again.

Fri, 28 Dec 2012 04:14:53 -0800 coolkid93 reviewed NBA 2K13 for the PlayStation 3... http://www.gamespot.com/nba-2k13/user-reviews/805292/platform/ps3/ ...and gave it a 8.5.

I haven't bought a basketball game for my playstation 3 in forever but I will say that out of all of them, this one is the best. This is the best NBA game that I have ever played. I got it on Christmas day and I have been hooked on it. I have other games but this one receives the most play time out of all of them at the moment. It is an addictive game. When playing a game, it is really enjoyable. Heck even just watching the computer play while in coach mode is interesting.

NBA 2k13 is a great basketball game. It looks and also feels good to play. Using the right analog stick can even make the game more fun. You can pull off moves, shots, and even dunks by using the right analog stick. The controls are good.

I also like the design for the games menus. With that said, I must also state that for some users the menu interface may seem confusing and not user friendly. The graphics and animations are good as well.

I'm sure you've noticed something different about the cover of NBA 2k13. They've added "Executive Produced by JAY-Z". From what I have read, he designed how the menus in the game look. The music choices aren't bad either. So what is the deal about that? It's honestly nothing but hype. As gamespot stated on that part of the game, it's "overblown".

I can't really say too much about improvements because I haven't played the few previous games in the series. The only thing that I can tell you is that it is fun and if you like basketball (especially love it), YOU WILL enjoy playing NBA 2k13. It is worth $60 and I highly recommend it to those who like/love basketball games. It's worth playing.

I give it a score of 8.6 out of 10.

Tue, 11 Dec 2012 10:03:15 -0800 coolkid93 reviewed Call of Duty: Black Ops Declassified for the PlayStation Vita... http://www.gamespot.com/call-of-duty-black-ops-declassified/user-reviews/804554/platform/vita/ ...and gave it a 7.5.

After getting Black Ops Declassified and playing it, I must say that it is underrated if you ask me. It really is a good game. It has its problems of course like every game does but It is not that bad. If you do not want to read all of this, just scroll on down to the bottom and just read the "Bottom Line" portion of this review.

The Campaign is not your typical Call of Duty Campaign. It's just short missions that can be completed in under or around 5 minutes. Like some of the other reviewers have mentioned, it is like Unit 13 except it has only 10 missions. The difficulty selection is "Regular", "Hardened", and "Veteran". There are not a big amount of missions but for those like myself that play online mostly, it doesn't really effect us. However, for those who do not own a 3G version of the vita, really like playing those spec ops missions, and/or for any other reason, that sucks. I would still like to have more missions though. For when I can't play online, I would like to have the ability to play through plenty of missions.

NO THERE IS NO ZOMBIES IN CASE YOU ARE WONDERING. It does however have a horde mode where you fight through waves of enemies. You start off with a weapon and you get new weapons along the way via dead enemies or a care package that drops after every wave. The care packages vary so you may get either a new weapon or one of the killstreak rewards.

Now on to Multiplayer. It is just like the others so if you have played a CoD game online, this is familiar. You are able to either find a public match just for yourself or select party matchmaking to play online with a party. In order for you to use Party Matchmaking, you have to form a Party using the Vita's Party App. I've never used that so I cannot explain how well it works (etc, keeps kicking friends out or whatever).

The create a class is the same as the other CoD versions that are on the other consoles. There are a total of 28 weapons. You are able to add a maximum of 2 attachments on a weapon. Another neat feature that you can use is "near" Classes. You are able to download other users class setups and share yours as well. You have to go through 40 ranks in order for you to select that "Prestige" option on the screen.

The game has only 6 maps which are small. You can also only have 4v4 multiplayer. But honestly, this works great. Remember THIS IS A HANDHELD CONSOLE VERSION. Do not treat it as if it is a PS3 version or a 360 version whereas they are capable of having 12-16 players online. I don't really experience much lag (I use Wi-Fi, not 3G). I honestly thought that it would lag worse. I won't lie it does have its moments where it is terrible but other than that, it is not so bad til it ruins the game. There are killstreaks and perks as well.

The Controls aren't the smoothest but they work. They aren't bad. If anyone has played Call of Duty before, they would feel right at home. the only difference is that your are missing some buttons. "Well how in the heck do you melee without an R3 button or throw a grenade or flashbang without the L2 or R2 buttons?" you may be asking. Those 3 are on screen. Works pretty good. However, when you are throwing a lethal or a tactical grenade, you can sometimes end up hitting the knife button. Also you only use the rear touch pad for steadying the scope on a sniper rifle.

Now I will tell you the issues. First off, with the Campaign, there are no checkpoints. So if you get killed when you are 99% done with the mission, you have to start all over again. That sucks because sometimes the games problems (like movement) can end up getting you killed. I've had it where I stood in a door for an X amount of time and my player couldn't go through it all the way, making me having a jump out of the door way in order for me to get out. And it's not like you can move the fastest either. It really sucks when you are getting shot at.

When it comes to the classes, there seems to be a glitch. When I you boot the game up and are over the required rank to customize a class, at first it will show that Create A Class is locked. Even when you click on find a match or barracks and back out, it will then show that the option is unlocked but it will not display all of your unlocked weapons or attachments. And at first, after every first game I would play after booting the game up, I would have to set up my classes all over again which became annoying.

The multiplayer is actually fun. It isn't bad but I find it annoying when I am in the middle of the match or I am trying to find one, all of a sudden I lose connection. It has been doing that a lot lately. Another thing is sometimes if you try to find a match to get into, the game stays in the same spot where you see nothing but the guy that is on the cover of the game case. When that happens, you have to reboot the game.

Sometimes when you activate UAV and after it is gone, the map will not display the right locations where a person is at times. It will display where someone was recently, especially after an enemy has shot their weapon. Not a big deal to me but it is something that should get fixed and especially for the price they are asking for.

Bottom Line-
Black Ops Declassified for the PlayStation Vita is good but it could use some patches to make it even better. Even without them, it is still enjoyable. Is it worth $50? No. I got my copy for $25. It's worth no more than $30. I'd say $25 well spent. Call of Duty Black Ops Declassified is worth playing.

I rate Black Ops Declassified for the PlayStation Vita a score of 7.5 out of 10. Really this is the best FPS on a handheld. I'd recommend it.

I downloaded the game a few days ago and I think it's pretty good. When I first started playing it, it took me a few minutes to say "hey this isn't bad". I wouldn't consider this the best FPS but it's good.

When it comes to the controls, I feel like i'm gliding across the map when running. Basically how the controls feel when playing duke nukem 3D. It doesn't feel like the other games I have played. But however, one thing I really like about this game is that you can use different controllers for the game, as in, PlayStation Move, PlayStation Sharpshooter, the regular PlayStation Controller AND... a keyboard and mouse. Yes I just said that. KEYBOARD. AND. MOUSE.

This isn't your usual FPS where you can Aim Down your Sights (ADS). You can't in this game. The only time you can is if you have a scope and that makes the whole screen zoom in. You can't see the outside of your scope like you can in other FPS games. I'm not sure if all scopes will zoom in and will do so in that way but I have to say that it does sucks a little bit that you cannot really ADS. I feel like I'm praying and spraying sometimes but it's good.

It's not that much of a big deal where it will make me stop playing though. In fact all of those that I've listed above isn't going to stop me but from what I have seen, that could possibly be a deal breaker for some.

It has a few gaming modes. Classic Casual, Classic Competitive, Arms Race, and last but not least, Demolition. If you are a person that loves to play TDM (Team DeathMatch), where your only objective is to kill and be the first team to reach the score limit for the match, they do not have that mode in this game. Just a heads up.

This is my first Counter Strike game. For veterans, it may be great. But to new comers of the series like my self, we would possibly feel otherwise do to us being used to MW3, BF3, KZ3, and other FPS shooters out there (as in how they played) . And to be honest, compared to them, I'd rather be playing any of the other FPS out there. I'll play it a couple of times to get my $12 out of it but it's really nothing but hype. I don't see anything spectacular about it. I'm not saying the game sucks by any means but I have played better and for less money at that (Modern Combat: Domination).

Is it worth playing? It's worth a try. Is it worth $15 ($12 for plus)? It's all up to you on this one. I really wouldn't recommend it but if you're thinking "well it's only $15/$12" then go ahead. I may do so for a CS vet but other than that, no. I give it a score of 7.6 out of 10.

It may have almost 5 stars on the playstation store but don't believe the hype. This game is overrated.

I keep playing this again and again because it has more gameplay in it than most games. There is a sense of rewards and building up your empire, makign money and buying stuff.

But at the same time the game has the most trollolish and annoying BULLOCKS you will ever see in a game... plus its pretty bad in terms of design and quality.

THE GAME

Has terrible graphics, trully ancient for 2006, the characters do not even open their mouths, the textures are blurry and everything is blocky with terrible lighting. Also it runs like a pile of crap

The controls? Its a mixture of mouse accelaration that keeps putting off target and a refusal of the character to drag his freaking hands to where you point hin to, or run when you tell him to. You have to litteraly mash the buttons and drag the mouse to make him do what you want him to do. Its not like there were not good controls in third person shooters back then, if you think that they were bad, then you have no idea how annoying scarface is

So overall the game is pretty crap in terms of quality but it can redeem itself with gameplay.

I wont bother talking about story and sound, they both are filled with endless swearign and repeteation, the game is pretty bad on both.

Now the GOOD stuff:

You buy cars, various items, buy fronts like vice city, make deals to buy drugs and use boats to transport them from the islands to the mainland and sell them. You buy guns and upgrade them, your charcter swears are somewhat entairtaining. The game has decent enough driving and races. Its not crap but its not reallistic either. Its ok. Look for true crime new york if you want bad driving mechanics.

The bad

Where do i start? your character cannot be controlled properly no matter what you do, mouse acceration, refusal to respond to your commands. Sometimes aim assist kicks in and you randomly get good shots or miss.

Combine that with the fact the guns dont shoot straight and have riddicilous recoil and you pretty much got a terrible gunplay

The fact that your chacter cannot take more than a few bullets from the BAZZILIONS of enemies he faces, also assist on him dying faster.

Who came up with the idea of using enter as the cover button? Not only its useless but you CANTTT CHANGEEE IT. Seriously you CANT map the keyboard keys. YOU CANT.

WTF?

If you want you can use autoaim (right click) to aim on your enemies better, you will still have to adjust the reticle but atleast your guns wont jump around to utter space and miss. Speaking of which, nothing can be trusted to work properly in this game, sometimes you shoot and bullets simply dissapear, while your enemies do extreme damge from medium range with a shotgun.

Everything works against you.

By shooting enemies to various body parts and using various weapons you can get balls, which are used to fill up the rage meter which is the only way to heal you apart from some medkits lying around in missions.

The gun that gives you the most balls, is the colt45 if you aim to the head and the gun that gives you the least is the shotgun.

Do you see whats wrong here? it works against you. Worthy to note down that many times a headshot or two DO NOT kill your enemy and that in order to increase your health you need to get "Femee fatales" by reaching a very high amoung of balls. When you do, it doesnt feel that you actually gettign a usefull upgrade. You might have maxed out that, but you STILL die fast as hell.

again wtf? Doesnt feel rpgish it all. It feels useless, you would thinkt that the upgrades would be helpfull. But i should have figured that out since when you get new and better guns, so do your enemies...wtff??

So shooting sucks and the game is annoying as hell. Seriously its like the developers are trolling you trying to piss you off all the time.Did i mention the ai is annoying as hell, always causinc super damage, attackign in billions, able to shoot you from miles away and unreallistic angles, either their animations are messed up, aro those scumbags are dodign bullets.

Small room with shotgun enemies that will blow you away, try to use cover and they will shoot the explosive barrels right next to you.

Problem player?

The game launches endless respwaning enemies and you have to somehow get past them.

PROBLEM?

They put 2 snipers that will kill you instanstly and the only way to get past them is to have rage filled up and use it at that area.

"checkpoint reached"
but if you die you gonna lose all your money, all your progress in the map, all you drugs and balls you gained but you get to keep your heat. Which is a bad thing and the only thing you do NOT wanna keep.

problem?

After that it puts you in a missiont that you got to defuse bombs on a tanker, the boat is filled with bad guys, there are boats, respawning enemies and more boats shoating around actually DAMAGING the tanker. What did i tell ya? everythng is aganist you. There are 3 bombs to defure with a timer, to defuse them you need to usethe fastalk minigame but the area that you must touch so they wont blow up is tooooooooooooooooo damn small. TOOOOOOOOOO damn small. They blow up? You play the entire mission all over and lose stuff. After that, the heat should be twice as much as it can go.

Right after the mission you go to another that you gotta clear an entire port of enemies and FINALLY after that the mission ends and you can save. The game automaticly removes 6000 heat from you. But that is nothing compared to what you got to get past those missions, i played the tanker mission 16 FREAKING TIMES. i lost 3 hours of my afternoon to get past one GODAMN mission because the bombs had a stupid minigame on them that requires all the luck in the world to finish it.

You have to take out a cop in a club, by the time you get close the game forces cutscene on you and you can hear the gunshots from the guards, you basicly take damage and cant act due to the cutscene. After that, you get out the back and 5 guys with chainsaws are ready to cut your head off, then a cutscene kicks in and you lose control, you can hear that you take damage and then your head gets chopped off.

I dont know from where to start with this, obvious troll is obvious, so

GOD FREAKING DAMN IT AND GODAMN TROLLS WHO DEVELOPED THIS PILE OF CRAP.

After that, the gangs retaliate and you lose or your money and cash.

Y NO MAD YET?

The game is freaking trolling you I changed the desktop icon with a trollface.

so you got a rocketlauncher with multiple rockets and a machinegun? Let me take all that away and put you in a level with endless respawning enemies and a pistol for you to use, have fun shooting them and sruggling to survive to get their guns and advance to the next level which is right next to their respawning area.

The final boss is unkilable unless you keep shooting him till you filll up your rage and with the character dying sooo damn fast, you can imagine how hard it is.

TROOOOOLL

Now on to other gameplay mechanics, each time you shoot a ganster you get heat, to lose heat you have to pay a riddiculous amount of money so they leave you alone. Heat keeps building means more enemies that cause more damage and they will attack you when they see you. Did i mention you cant do good deals with high heat? If the heat reaches the maximum they retaliate and you just die. thats it.

Cops get you heat too. Dont shoot a cop, you lose balls, try to run away from them and after a whle they will stop beaming down from enteprise right infront your car and leave you alone.

Thats right, they do not "chase" you in this game, they pretend htey do. You can have the fastet car ever but you will not manage to run away from a cop car or a crappy gang car.

Did i mention the game likes to spawn a ganster to shoot you from behind in EVERY GODAMN MISSION. If you kill him he will be imediatly replaced and you will get hit for it.

If you have a high heat you will not be able dodge the cops and its only a matter of time till the white visiblity matters turns red and the message

"YOU ARE BEEPED"

appears in the sceen (seriously i am not making this up) and you just die.

Thats it, ofcourse you lose everythng but get to keep the heat.

Another way to loose heat without paying your money is to take control or an enforcer, assasin or driver and do missions with em that lower your heat and get some cash.

But the damn thing is a pretentious feature, made for grinding and making the game longer rather fun. Just use cheats.

I really dont get why when i go to an island CONTROLLED BY AN ALLY, i have to get HEAT for killing RESPAWNING CAMPING GANGCARS that attack ME?

How about THEY get some heat from me instead? how about paying ME instead?

So i shoot pirates in the sea and i get gang heat in miami?

OK, go troll someone else radicall, so glad you got closed down.

Nothing in the game can be trusted to work for you, it always works against you.

Another thing, to make deals you need to use a trolllolish minigame that features a wheel, you have to keep pressing a button and release it as it circles around and make sure it hits the sweet spot. Which gonna give you more drugs or lower your hit depending on what is the objective of the "Fastalking" minigame. If it hits the bad spot, you are severally BEEPED up, might as well load game, lots of gang heat, they start shooting you and even if you kill them, you do not get any substanial drugs.

UNBALANCED.

You also launder your money in banks the same way which is the ONLY way you save the game.

VERY INTELLIGENT YOU TROLLS.

VERY freaking intelligent.

arghhh.

Also as i said, wanna ran away from the cops or import drugs? The game is gonna keep on teleporting enemies right infront of you and you will have to keep going in circles to avoid them.

When you FINALLY have the cash you can distrubute them around your fronts to make some real cash but when you do, you get alot of gang heat.

WHYYYYYYYYYY? ITS MY DRUGS, FUUUUU YOU GANGSTERS.

When you do that, your fronts are attacked and the useless henchmen can do crap against them so you gonna have to defend them which leads in visiblty which leads in cops and which leads into teleporting police cars you cant outrun which leads to the "YOU ARE BEEPED" screen and death

Really depressing.

As you see the game is

Graphically awful, very demanding, has the WORST and most mazzoshist and broken controls ever and its just a spectacle of violence. The only thing that saves it is the management of your cash and buyinf stuff to improve your empire. AKA selling drugs, which as i described is a trollolish and mazohistc process of unlimited amout of crap thrown at you and the developers trolling you in every case. Basicly you will suffer and swear alot and in the end, the whole thing is done to grind the game and make it longer and make you feel like you are having fun due to the "rewards" but in the end the rewards are grinding trick that doesnt really give you anything and make you THINK you are having fun and achieving something.

Its pretentious and yet addictive.

arghh.

Like a gta clone it should have some story and interesting missions, so that thing can save it, right? play for the campaign?

WRONG, the story is like a placeholder and the missiosn are amateurish, repettive and put together my monkeys, also EXTREMELY hard, trying to piss you off in every time and very few of them i might say.

You basicly do this, buy all fronts in each area of miami, which have one mission each. Attack the warehouse to store the coke and ditrubute it. Get a random cheap ass sidemission complete it, unlock a drug deal mission to get coke and do it all over again.

You keep doing that till you earn enough money to buy enough stuff to level up your repetation, once that is done a main story hard as hell mission is unlocked, you do it and you unlock the next area in miami and start buying frons all over again.

This is the game.

I give it as high only because of the empire micromanagement nad making lots of cash as you sell drugs. The way you make deals, safe, shoot and the missions are mazohistic, mediocre and a complete pile of crap.

So glad activision cancelled the sequel.

BF3 is a game worth playing. I love and hate this game. It's not the best but it's certainly not the worst. I'd really recommend renting this game first before you buy it. The story is good and I've played a little bit of the co-op and that's pretty good too but the multiplayer... it's great at times but it's problems are really annoying and ruins the game at times.

Story- Good but short as expected.

Co-op- After playing it for a little bit, it's fun. Not only can you complete objectives, if you rack up enough points, you can unlock some new weapons for you to use in multiplayer mode.

Multiplayer-

CONS:

The multiplayer mode is great... when it works. If you don't get killed by the enemy, the game itself will. You will have it where out of no where, your player will just drop dead. It happens sometimes. Not a lot but still, it sucks. If you throw a grenade or even noob tube someone and the grenade lands 2 feet away from your enemy, it will do some damage but it will not kill them. There's a list of problems that I can write on here that this game has. There are a lot of campers on here. I've been running into them a lot lately, as in almost every game.

There was recently a patch released that kind of made some things a little bit worse. It was already hard enough to kill people but the patch made it a little bit harder. That has been happening a lot to me lately. The patch also created problems that wasn't even there before, which made the game a little bit more annoying. It did fix some things of course.

These are things that sometimes happens (they have been happening to me lately) but still it can be VERY annoying. I'd really recommend renting it first.

Another thing that sucks is that it does not have a practice mode. It sucks when your practice time is in the middle of a game and you end up killing yourself, a teammate, and/or destroying a helicopter within seconds of trying to fly it because you're not that good at flying yet. You can get into a private match... but you have to "Rent A Server". Yes that does cost.

PROS: When the problems do not mess with the experience too much, the game is extremely fun. Jets, Tanks, and everything else that would make you feel like you are in a actual war. Unlike some FPS games that has it where even when your enemy is moving 100mph running across your screen, you can aim directly at them, shoot and kill them, BF3 of course has it where you will have to lead the player. And when you are sniping, not only do you have to do that, you have to also keep bullet drop in mind. So yeah it's pretty realistic in some ways.

In this game, it's best to use teamwork. You have 4 classes to choose from. You have the Assault, Engineer, Support, and Recon classes. Each class is useful (the first 3 mostly). For example, if your teammate is low on ammo, all you have to do is throw out a ammo crate and your teammate receives more ammo. You also get points for doing so. So yeah it's not like you choose a class just to only be able to play with a certain weapon and not do what an actual engineer does... which is repair things with your blowtorch.

BF3 is a fun game and it's worth playing but again, rent it first before you buy . I give this game a score of 7.7 out of 10.

Balloon Bomber

Balloon Bomber is a shoot-them-game from 1980. The player controls a tank that shoots balloons propelling on the tank's level. This video game makes for somewhat satisfying experiences.

This gameplay pretty much flows until the players' lives expire. With the beginning levels, the game turns out being challenging. Players should adapt by gunning the balloons depending on their direction. As the levels progress, there is a bomber constantly sending grenades around the battle-tank's surface. Advice here is that gamers need to become evasive, specifically depending on where the bomb aircraft's weapon forces impact.

Balloon Bomber pretty much gives simplistic quantities of enjoyment. Even with five minutes passing, the game becomes stiff with challenge. This game will mainly also barely satisfy serious shooter fans.

Lunar Rescue is a shoot-them-up game within arcades. The pilot must land on platforms to rescue individuals then pilot upward taking them towards the player's headquarters. This shooter is workable but needs better game-play mechanics.

The game starts off supposedly easy but is actually stiff with challenge. Players should predictably utilize fuel when close towards asteroids. As the game progresses, spaceships become faster, fuel should become more conservative, etc. Often gamers need to make sure they very accurately land on the point platforms. Continuing, this is pretty much what gamers obtain from the game.

Its still good that Lunar Rescue functions well. The game often feels like its just a test of endurance. Shooter fans will very little feel passionate about this gaming piece.

Missile Command is a shoot-them-up video game within various consoles. The mission around this game is to shoot missiles rocketing towards the city. From this, gamers have a game that gets a little of the basics right.

Within the first couple of levels, the missiles drop around simple paces. Players should implement the middle weaponry more cause of their speed. As the video progresses the rockets also shuffling airborne enemies become faster. The players' weapons become more valuable as they should attempt to hit multiple objects. Even more, the adversaries start moving at light-speed. Competitors need to be skillful with their shots to easily score more lives.

Missile Command comes as being a minor gaming experience. The game-play does a minor good accomplishment of giving that retro vibeology. Shooter fans will barely enjoy this and then find more intriguing games.

Upon trolling the internet I found this little gem of an article. Someone at forbes seems to have found a community effort to explain the ending events and what they really(truly?) mean. I can only hope and must agree with the author that if it is true, Bioware is indeed a clever little monkey. First two paragraphs from the article, rest is at the link below. Enjoy.

"Did the Real Mass Effect 3 Ending Go Over Everyone's Heads?

Mass Effect 3 has been derided since its release as having an unsatisfying and spectacularly bad finale that has disappointed fans of the otherwise phenomenal series. But now a new conspiracy theory is circling the internet, and if proven true, could mean that this terrible ending is actually pretty incredible, and we were all just too blind to see it.

The "proof" comes in the form of a collection of internet postings and a new definitive "Loose Change" style video which aims to show how we've all missed the point. I'll post it for you below, and though it clocks in at twenty minutes, if you're a fan, it's definitely a must watch."

Wed, 08 Feb 2012 22:30:19 -0800 Wensea10 reviewed Pac-Man World 2 for the GameCube... http://www.gamespot.com/pac-man-world-2/user-reviews/787374/platform/gamecube/ ...and gave it a 7.5.

Pac-Man World 2 is a platform video game for various consoles. There are around fifteen decent levels within this video game. This video game makes for a satisfactory choosing.

Starting with the video game, the world Pac-Man encounters is the 'Tree Tops.' Moreover, e begins in 'Pac-Village that could have been amore special. The next level is more satisfactory which bear 'Bear Basics.' The interesting portion of this area is to learn the controls. Enemies here include the Ghost that is strong and freely chases after Pac-Man and Pac-Cub which runs after gamers is they are close. The next level on the list is 'Canyon Chaos.' Advice here is that contenders will understand about massive adversaries. Rivals here include Pac-Bear that rapidly chases Pac-Man when in its space and RGB that breathes fire when Pac-Man is close in its vicinity. Pac-Man then travels to the level 'Pac-Dot Pond.' The standout piece here is Pac-Man must rev rolls as a stopping method at specific points. Modern enemies here are the Beetle that walks and uses its claws on Pac-Man around close distances. Eventually, Pac-Man travels to the level 'Blinky's Killer Frog.' Accomplishments here is Pac-Man must butt bounce his tongue and rev roll its mouth.

The next world Pac-Man explores is the 'Forest.' The introductory level here is creative and called 'B-Doing Woods.' What mainly is the standout here is Pac-Man must use b-doings to reach farther boundaries. The upcoming level now is deemed 'Treewood Forest.' Contemporary strategies here are there are b-doings that coerce direction changes. Pac-Man will encounter a modern enemy named Bat that flies back and forth within certain premises. The next level to progress towards is 'Butane Pain.' The steel power-up plays important roles here since it is needed to bypass the blue fire. The latest villains here involve Spider that walks toward gamer's location to bite them. The chief level here is 'Inky's Blade o-matic.' This boss can be affected by attack choices of rev rolls, butt bounces, etc.

The next landscape found is the 'Snow World.' To begin this boundary, Pac-Man starts in 'Ice River Run.' Tactful statements here are that the water looks breathtaking but if Pac-Man falls in the liquid, he is turned into an ice cube so it must be avoided. Nemesis types here are Rev Roll Rams that charge at players with rev rolls and Flying Fish that touching it likely means starting from checkpoints. Past this level onward is the large area 'Avalanche Alley.' Predictably, tactics here are players must create whatever acts necessary to sprint from rampaging snowballs. Going forward, the next level is 'Blade Mountain.' Strong tactics here is that contenders will confront several falling icicles needing evasion. With these places done, the boss level here is 'Pinky's Revenge.' Comical suggestions are attacks that are effective against the machine are rev rolls and butt bounces.

Now gamers find themselves within the 'Lava World.' Starting this world is the level 'Into the Volcano.' Modern enemies found here compose of Pooka who explodes when characters are close by them, Pooka Plants that devour Pookas nearby, and Stony who fires extreme-speed fireballs at Pac-Man. Players will definitely have to traverse the lava carefully as it burns contenders to crisps. 'Volcanic Panic' is the upcoming level gamers find. When traveling far in the level, there is a portion where contenders must jump rapidly as the lava rises. The latest villain here is the Neander-Pac who charges at heroes close by it. The next level coming up is 'Magma Opus.' Advice here is when close to finishing the level, players will travel on a rapid slope. Onward, Pac-Man travels to the chief level 'Clyde in the Caldera.' The very simple method to become victorious is Clyde will be in the position to become butt bounced after he attacks with his barrage of magma-balls.

Past the Lava World, Pac-Man is now positioned within the Ocean World. The introductory level in this land is 'Scuba Duba.' Identified adversaries here are the Shark who eats Pac-Man whole when close in the vicinity and Eel who comes from his hole in electric coverings. Advice here is to maintain powerful evasive actions when passing the minefields. Coming up next is the level 'Shark Attack.' Recognizable strategies here are evading the torpedoes efficiently as they pass at somewhat light-speed methods. The interesting level Pac-Man encounters next is 'Yellow Pac Marine. Suggestions here are to assemble endeavors to collect the power-ups such as the smart bomb. So then contenders find the boss level 'Whale on a Sub.' To become triumphant, players when available have to shoot their submarine arsenal at the mechanical whale's body parts.

As the expedition continues, gamers are now within Ghost Island. The place coming up is 'Haunted Boardwalk.' Tactics here is there are boardwalk pieces that progress toward the water when stepped on. The next intriguing level here is 'Night Crawling.' For the completion of the enemy list, Skeletons sprint toward Pac-Man with swords when close. Recommendations here is the rev roll must be used properly to reach the distant places. 'Ghost Bayou' is a level definitely needing more fairness. To complete the rest of the video game, contenders travel to the chief level 'Spooky.' Suggestive actions here is flip kicks can be implemented against Spooky when he creates minions as sidekicks.

Pac-Man World 2 makes for a decent video game. The game could definitely be profound with more levels. This is an exceptional video game for platform fanatics.

Game and Watch Gallery 4 is a video game arcade collection for the Game Boy Advance. Thankfully, majority of the video games seen here are outstanding. This video game compilation is excellent within the video game library.

In 'Fire' players send characters jumping from the blazing building towards the ambulance. Tactics here is to worry about the characters closer to the pavement needing to be propelled higher. With the 'Boxing' game, it could have been produced better. In the game 'Rain-shower,' contenders have to protect their property from falling water. Advice here is that on higher difficulties, other characters will willingly move the player's property possible in the water's direction so it is best to stay alert.

Continuing with video games in this collection, 'Mario's Cement Factory' sees players controlling Mario as he does work efficiently within his workplace. Advisable situations here are to work from the bottom towards the top. In the game 'Donkey Kong Jr.' gamers control the aforementioned character as he saves Donkey Kong from Mario. Suggestions here are to implement the fruit to quickly annihilate enemies. In 'Donkey Kong 3,' players control Mario or Stanley as they compete against Donkey Kong. Tactics seen here involve keeping the three sides at bay within each other. In the game 'Chef,' contenders control a cooker that uses a pot to cook the descending provisions. Strategies seen here are obviously reaching the food closer towards the pavement. 'Mario Bros.' is another game in which players control Mario and Luigi while they carry packages in upward directions. A tactful action here is that at times the boxes may suddenly go towards where they came from. In 'Donkey Kong,' Mario must save Peach from Donkey Kong's possession. Recommendations here are that rapid movement is needed here as the faster Mario rescues Peach, more points become rewarded. In the game 'Octopus,' players go underwater to collect gargantuan amounts of treasure. Advice here is when the octopus's tentacles are inbound, players can use the treasure as an attack.

So continuing, in 'Fire Attack,' players control characters protecting their vicinity from attacks. Suggestions here are that gamers should attack enemies in order based on speed. In 'Manhole,' contenders control a serious character as they place bridge pieces for the citizens to walk. The advice piece here is that players should move according towards who is close to falling. In 'Tropical Fish,' gamers control a grandpa catching his jumping fish. The recommendations here are that players should lean toward the left or right depending on what boundary is more populated. In 'Mario's Bomb's Away,' contenders control Mario as he carries the bomb towards Luigi. The obvious saying is that more fire is around the topmost part so players should keep the bomb in the ground parts more. In 'Parachute,' contenders must rescue parachutists from falling within the ocean. Basically, parachutists closer towards the water need rescuing first.

Continuing, in 'Bombsweeper,' players must control the protagonist trying to reach the bomb in time. Being tactful here is within most segments, contenders should make endeavors in finding different methods towards reaching the exploding objects. In 'Climber' players control a character that consecutively meets the bird at the topmost floor. Gamers must be careful of the floor segments they hit as they might be forced to wait a while until new pavement portions are assembled. The upcoming game is 'Safebuster,' which sees players controlling a person disposing of bombs thrown by some creature. Suggestions seen here is to put bombs downward the pipe if any are in possession immediately. There are more games to announce; so in 'Lifeboat,' contenders control two characters saving ship passengers from the left and right premises. A simple advisability inbound is that both sides are intertwined so if the left side moved, the right side follows a recognizable fashion. There is no need to mention the game 'Zelda,' which sees Link reaching the Triforce from the adversary's possession. This brings us the games in this collection.

Game and Watch Gallery 4 is a magnificent compilation of video games. Some of the standout titles include Safebuster, Fire Attack, and Climber. An amazing video game collection for arcade fans who enjoy varieties of a specific genre.

Sun, 29 Jan 2012 17:28:34 -0800 Wensea10 reviewed Mario Kart 64 for the Nintendo 64... http://www.gamespot.com/mario-kart-64/user-reviews/786660/platform/n64/ ...and gave it a 9.0!

Mario Kart 64 is a racing video game for the Nintendo 64. Some modes seen within this video game include Grand Prix, Time Trial, and Battle. This game is mostly outstanding when racing on the 16 tracks seen in the video game.

Grand Prix and Versus Mode are familiar in which players race on the tracks in each cup. The characters compose of Mario who is the most balanced, Luigi who handles a bit better than Mario, Peach who has outstanding acceleration, Toad who has the strongest acceleration, Yoshi who is the most powerful of the lighter characters, Wario who has superb top speed, Donkey Kong who has the better steering of the heavy characters, and Bowser who is the strongest character in the video game. The Mushroom Cup tracks comprise of Luigi Raceway, Moo Moo Farm, Koopa Troopa Beach, and Kalimari Desert. In Luigi Raceway, players should concentrate on drifting to finish the race quickly. In Moo Moo Farm, racers need to be aware of the Monty Moles that hop often from the holes. In the stage Koopa Troopa Beach, if players drive fast enough up a specific ramp, they will discover a shortcut. In the interesting stage Kalimari Desert, competitors need to be careful of the train that passes along the track often.

The Flower Cup is composed of the racetracks Toad's Turnpike, Frappe Snowland, Choco Mountain, and Mario Raceway. Racers in Toad's Turnpike will have to race around the numerous vehicles leisurely driving. Competitors in Frappe Snowland will have to be careful of the snowmen placed along the track. In the stage Choco Mountain, when having items like shells, players can use it to their advantage at certain areas to make other racers have a longer time to complete their lap. On the track Mario Raceway, players need to avoid driving in the sand as this drastically alters their position.

The Star Cup tracks include Wario Stadium, Sherbet Land, Royal Raceway, and Bowser's Castle. In Wario Stadium, players can use items strategically as they make big jumps by using them to make others have to jump from the ramp more. In Sherbet Land, players will have to be cautious when driving past the penguins. Competitors in Royal Raceway need to acknowledge that Peach's Castle is just scenery. In Bowser's Castle while racing, players will definitely have to take caution of the Thwomps.

As the Special Cup Comes, the tracks seen here are composed of DK's Jungle Parkway, Yoshi Valley, Banshee Boardwalk, and Rainbow Road. In DK's Jungle Parkway, racers will need to steer clear of the grassy areas because a spiky object will change their process. Drivers in Yoshi Valley will mainly have to steer clear of the giant Yoshi Egg. Within Banshee Boardwalk, driver's necessity is circling around Swoopers seen. In Rainbow Road, racers will constantly need to drive past Chain Chomps.

In Time Trial Mode, players pick a track and race as fast as possible. The top-tier five scores are saved which lead toward ghost data. With ghost data, contenders compete against the current best time on the track. Time Trial is just a d-level experience.

The Battle Mode stages seen in this game includes Donut Hole, Block Fort, Double Deck, and Skyscraper. With Donut Hole, players compete against each other in a circular environment. In Block Fort, players should strategize in implementing the upper parts of the stage. In Double Deck, players compete in what really feels like a labyrinth. In Skyscraper, players compete and can make tactics easily with the items because of the stage size.

Mario Kart 64 is such an outstanding video game for numerous reasons. It is easy to see that the kart racing is the recommended portion. This video game is an excellent choice for racing fans.

9 rating!

I just got LA Noire 3 days ago and I must say that I do like it. I'm not disappointed. However It's not going to be one of those games that I will keep playing for a while.
After finishing the story in just 3 days, it's actually good. It kind of reminds me of a movie except it's a very interactive one. The story actually has a nice little twist to it.

If you've played any gta game, you should know that with a tap of a button in a police car, you can initiate a mission where you track down the suspect and kill them. In this game there's more to it (of course) than just chasing the suspect, doing a drive-by on them and getting rewarded a couple of bucks for eliminating the them. You get to interrogate, interview, find evidence and just do things you would do to find and convict someone. It can however get a little repetitive. You'll have to ask questions and do things to try to get the right guy but be careful though. Choose the wrong choice and you could end up getting the wrong guy. Not having enough evidence also affects interrogations and interviews.

At some time, you'll probably want to have some gta type of fun even though you're a cop. Well it won't happen. You can't run over pedestrians, damage property, and you can't shoot or fight the peds. The most you can do to them is push them down by simply running into them (when out of a car). It is possible to hit a ped and kill them but majority of them will dodge out of the way and those kind of actions can mess with your rep or rank or whatever it said it would affect. The only thing you can do is run around solving cases and do side missions. That's about it. You can replay the story missions and yes it does have a free mode.

Wondering if this game will let you customize your character? Well yes it will but there's not many options. You can't go to a store to buy a suit or outfit but if you go to the menu, you can choose from 4 different suits in the game. And if you are wondering if you can buy a weapons, then no, you can't. Can you use other weapons? Sure... if they're laying on the ground after killing an armed enemy. The DLC that you can buy gives you some guns you can use and a new suit but other than that, that's it when it comes to customizing your character.

LAN is a good game. This game is not a 9 but it's not a bad one to play. But like I said earlier, it's not something that I will keep playing for a while. It's also not something that I would say is a must have. I'd recommend renting before buying it. I got my copy for $20. It's worth that much but anything over $30, no. I give this game an 8.3 out of 10.

MW3 is fun at times but it's mostly annoying. Same thing, nothing new as usual but I expected that. Don't believe the hype. I've had this game since day one and haven't really touched it for a while. Lets get on with the review. And I'm no fanboy from Battlefield and I'm definitely not a fanboy of CoD.

The story is short of course. It's good in my opinion and it's filled with action. It's part 3 of the MW series. Gets a thumbs up from me.
There's nothing really new about the online mode however. It's the same thing as the last one. It has a few new things but nothing big though. I did expect that to happen tbh.

The only thing that's new is the maps. Some may say they've paid $60 for a few new maps, some may also say that they bought MW2 again. I honestly can't really deal with the online mode. It lags, seems that almost every game I got in had a bunch of people wanting to hide into corners but that's just me, and there's still some problems. It's fun for a bit but majority of the times it's just a headache.

If you're a CoD fan, go right ahead if you'd like but really I wouldn't even recommend this to a fan. If you're not, I wouldn't really recommend doing so. I would probably recommend a rent but it's not a must buy. Oh and if you're looking for realism, you won't find it in this game.

I give this game a 7.7 out of 10. REMEMBER: DON'T BELIEVE THE HYPE.

Wed, 30 Nov 2011 20:24:34 -0800 Wensea10 reviewed Pac-Man for the Arcade Games... http://www.gamespot.com/pac-man/user-reviews/781994/platform/arcade/ ...and gave it a 6.0.

Pac Man is a puzzle video game that was released in 1980. The game-play revolves around Pac Man clearing the board of Pac Dots and Power Pellets while avoiding the ghosts Blinky, Inky, Clyde, and Pinky. The game makes for an okay experience since all players have to do is collect the items mentioned.

World one obviously gets you used to the game controls. With the Cherry stage, players should worry about getting the ghosts to follow you close to the Power Pellets for big points. In the Strawberry stage, the ghosts have gotten somewhat faster so you must use the shortcuts skillfully.

World two further picks up the game-play elements making the game harder. With the two Orange stages, the Power Pellets need to be strategically used. The two Apple stages come next and Pac Man must go around the board creatively.

World three more so contemplates on the actions to input. The two Melon stages come next and game-element tactics have to be greatly better. The two Galaxian stages show how much faster the ghosts have become. The Bell stage continues to show how stronger the ghosts have become. From this point, it is easy to identify the pattern seen.

Pac Man makes for and okay video game experience. It is easy to figure out the obvious routine after the first level. It is best to obtain this game in a compilation.

Mario Party 4 is a party video game for the Nintendo Gamecube. Every mode is good if the mini games are produced properly. There are around 55 mini games.

There are 16 4 player mini games. Manta Rings involves players going through as much underwater rings as possible. Players need to be careful of the sea creatures in that they will lose points on contact. Slime Time sees players tapping the A button as fast as possible to escape from the slime ball. If they do not press the button hard enough they have to start the whole process over. Booksquirm shows players trying to not get flattened by the moving book. Players should do their best in not trying to be on the same space with others. Mario Medley sees players in a swimming triathlon and being the first player to win. It is best to go at a normal pace. Avalanche! shows players skiing as fast as possible from the big snowball. Players should try to jump ramps for added speed. Domination is similar to Slime Time. However, you are not penalized if you are a slow button presser. Paratrooper Plunge is a competition in which players get as much coins as possible. If they are hit four times they are out. Toad's Quick Draw is unfair in that whatever flag color Toad puts up its basically shows whoever cursor is on the color Toad has, they get a point automatically. Mr. Blizzard's Brigade sees players avoiding snowballs from the Mr. Blizzard family. Big Mr. Blizzard's snowball covers a wide area. Bob Omb Breakers puts players in roles of creating puzzle combos. As more pieces are placed its easier to create combos. Long Claw of the Law is unfair because some players may find the wanted character faster than others. Stamp Out shows players stamping out a paper more times than the others. The best way to win is to overtake another player's stamp color. Mario Speedwagons shows players pressing the A button when necessary as quick as possible to shift gears. If you misstep once you basically have no shot at winning. Take A Breather involves players alternating at pressing L and R to hold their breath as long as possible. Obviously, when players come back on to the ground you know you are out. Three Throw involves players making as much basket shots as possible. Shooting in the middle rows gives the players two points. Photo Finish shows players recreating a picture that was shattered. Memorization is the main point to know for this mini game.

There are nine 1 vs. 3 mini games. Candlelight Flight shows three players extinguishing the single player's fire. The group of three should do their best to surround the lone player. Makin' Waves shows three players trying to flip the lone player on the shell. The single player should move from where the waves are coming from. Hide and Go BOOM! Is a cheap mini game because the three players can greatly come up with ways to win. Tree Stomp is similar to Candlelight Flight. The players should work together to surround the single player because their machines are slow. Fish n' Drips is a boring mini game because the single player moves at a faster pace than the three players. Hop or Pop shows one player trying to pop the three balloon characters. The three players should separate from each other to come out the winners. GOOOOOOOAL! shows three players kicking balls into the goal 10 times against the single player. The single player should act according to where the balls are coming from. Blame it on the Crane shows one player trying to catch the three character team that is in balls with a crane. The three characters should hang around Shy Guys to make the single player have a difficult time capturing them. Money Belts suck because the single player will end up getting the majority of the coins on the conveyor belt.

There are nine 2 vs. 2 mini games. The Great Deflate shows players deflating a water block Thwomp. Teams should time their jumps in sync to make the pace faster. Revers-a-Bomb shows players changing the direction of the Bob Omb if it is coming to either team's side. Players should look forward to reversing the closest Bob-Omb. Cliffhangers show teams being the first to climb a mountain. It is risky but to move faster teams should press the A button at exactly when the snowstorm comes. Team Treasure Trek shows teams finding a key and chest in a labyrinth. The skill here is to read the map carefully. Pair-a-sailing shows the boat teams trying to get as much coins as possible. Boat drivers should drive according to where the coins are. Order Up is unfair in that it shows players lifting boxes according to what Toad wants and players have advantages depending on luck. Dungeon Duos shows players trying to get out of the first. Teams need to work accurately or they will have difficulties completing this mini game. Cheep Cheep Sweep is dumb because to get the most Cheep Cheeps you have to move through the water slowly.

There are six battle mini games. Trace Race sees players tracing a line on paper as accurately as possible. Precision is the key in this event. Chain Chomp Fever shows players surviving as long as possible against Chain Chomp's attacks. Also, players have to beware of the fire. Paths of Peril show players going through a path trail as quickly as possible. Players should pick paths according to how easy it is for them. Bowser's Bigger Blast is wasteful because you do not know if you are out or in the game because of the button you pressed. Butterfly Blitz sees players gathering up as much bugs as possible. It is best for players to swing their net sideways. Rumble Fishing involves players lifting their fishing pole up after hearing the controller vibrate. Players are ranked by fish weight according to how fast they pressed the A button.

There are 3 Bowser mini games. Darts of Doom is stupid because your cursor does not let you pick where to throw the darts. The Fruits of Doom mini game is unfair because the fruit you pick Bowser may not like. Balloon of Doom shows players pumping the balloon according to when it will pop. As the balloon grows, players need to ground pound the balloon as little as possible.

There are six story mini games. Bowser Bop shows players competing to hit the most Bowser related springs. Players should do their best to try to hit the big Bowser Springs since they are two points each. Mystic Match 'Em is not cool because you never know what the card will be when you flip it over. Archaeologuess shows players ground pounding buttons that resembles the center shape. Players should analyze the shape before starting to ground pound. Goomba's Chip Flip sucks because players ground pound chips to show numbers that will hopefully help them. Kareening Koopas shows players tilting shells in to holes at the gameboard. Players should tilt shells carefully to avoid making shells pass the gameboard. The Final Battle shows a player traversing around Bowser's many traps. Players need to carefully jump around the lava because it will be a game over.

There are six extra mini games. Barrel Baron is not a great minigame because the rumble feature does not work accurately. Mushroom Medic shows players choosing the character that has a different heartbeat compared to the others. Players have to listen very closely to find out who is not similar to the rest of the characters. Doors of Doom is not a superb minigame because it resolves around picking doors with random results. Bob-Omb X-ing shows a player surviving as long as possible around Bob-Ombs. Running around constantly and far from Bob-Ombs is exceptional. Goomba Stomp shows players trampling over as many Goombas as possible. It is best to go after the Goombas in groups. Beach Volley Folley shows players playing a game of volleyball. Players should do their best by hitting with the spike technique.

Mario Party 4 comes out to be a decent game. The luck factor in the party mode brings the game's performance down a bit. Regardless, here is a decent variety of good minigames.

Thu, 29 Sep 2011 11:15:37 -0700 weedman1985 reviewed Gothic II for the PC... http://www.gamespot.com/gothic-ii/user-reviews/775627/platform/pc/ ...and gave it a 9.5!

Here is a quick history lesson for everyone who is new to the series: Back in 2001, a German company called Piranha Bytes released the first title in the series adequately named "Gothic". While not a perfect game, Gothic stood out in the Rpg crowd by possessing three great strengths that placed it above most games in the genre:

Firstly, Gothic introduced us to it's own Radiant AI similar to the one Bethesda attempted to create in Oblivion. But while Bethesda failed, Piranha Bytes stood victorious. Npcs had daily routines, such as their jobs, rest hours, and even their own reactions to one another, and could initiate dialogue with each other at any moment without looking ridiculous like they did in Oblivion. Npcs in Gothic were programmed to react to player actions as well, such as if the player drew his weapon in front of them, they would react by drawing their own. Also, Npcs were programmed to become angry whenever you try to walk into their house or try to sneak by unnoticed. The developers did everything they could to make even the most insignificant Npc seem like a living individual in his own right, by characterizing them with their own unique personalities and reactions to various actions on the player's part, or in some occasions, those of other Npcs.

Secondly, Gothic had a faction based story. Meaning you had to choose to side with one of the resident factions and play the game according to their point of view, and help them to achieve their goals. Once a faction was chosen, various Npcs will react to your choice accordingly, depending on their relations with said faction. It's much more complicated than how I described it here, and it was a refreshing change of pace back in the day.

Thirdly, Gothic was home to a very unforgiving world in which you are nothing more than an ant in a great big ant farm with it's own rulers, factions and politics. The game genuinely makes you feel like the world wasn't crafted for you to exploit, but rather you are a lonesome man trying to survive in a hostile environment with only your wits to help you push your way up in ranks of society and become someone important. Also, the wilderness outside the camps is a dangerous one, with early game exploration often resulting in a quick death rather than some actual rewards. It serves as a harsh and above all realistic lesson in life, that achieving something great requires a lot of effort. Though once you do, the game rewards you handsomely, creating that wonderful "effort plus exploration equals reward" effect , that I love so much about sandbox Rpgs.

In short, Gothic took the tired old fantasy Rpg formula and added a special twist to it. Three years after the rather modest success of Gothic, comes Gothic 2 to improve on the original in almost every aspect.

The story now takes place outside the penal colony that was in the original, and with it comes the expanded world map that is literally twice as big as the old one.
The story has also improved tremendously, even though it's not terribly original, Piranha Bytes(I'll refer to them as PB from now on) made sure that the player will never be bored, with constant twists and turns in the story guarantee to keep the player guessing as to what happens next.

The writing is also solid. Though the game doesn't explore deep philosophical issues, the dialogues are mostly well written, well voice acted and entertaining to listen to. Even if it's just idle talk, the developers ensured that there will be plenty of hilarious dialogue options and equally hilarious responses. It's also strange that there is almost no swearing in the game even though PB had plenty of opportunities to add some. Despite that fact, I think that using less vulgar alternatives to express one's feelings are actually much more appropriate in this game since we are talking about medieval times, where even the common language was still far more sophisticated than today's street talk. The game also takes great care into making sure that character motivations are justified with more than just "he is evil" or "he is good" motivations. Even the supposedly good characters will still have some sort of personal gain to be had from helping the main hero in his quest, as well as the protagonist himself being motivated by common sense rather than bad writing skills - like agreeing to cooperate with Xardas because he saved his life, even though he is a rather dodgy looking fellow to say the least.

It may seem weird that I even mentioned the fact, but most games disregard coherent character motivations rather frequently, to the point which this aspect is considered to be some sort of luxury, and is only added to the game if the developers feel generous enough.

Then there is the combat which takes some actual skill, so mashing the attack button will most definitely result in a horrible death. Gothic 2, much like it's predecessor, allows your character to improve his fighting and marksmanship skills by receiving training from certain Npcs. At various pivotal points in your training your technique will visibly change, resulting in new and spectacular ways to swing your sword or increase the effective range of your ranged weapons, should you choose to level up your marksmanship skill. Gothic 2 also allows players to become magicians, although this path is a bit difficult to take at the beginning due to the fact that the magician order is one of the three resident factions, and unlike the other factions, they require a significantly greater effort on the player's part before allowing him to join their ranks. Though once you do, keep in mind that mages require an enormous amount of mana potions to cast spells. And even though you can still use swords and bows, casting spells will be your primary weapon against your enemies.

Speaking of fighting, the combat AI is very smart and challenging to go up against, while the path finding AI is terrible, and will cause enemies to get stuck behind bits of wall or even fall off cliffs, while at other times it makes them behave very weirdly, such as having a sudden urge to start climbing ledges in the middle of a fight. Though to it's credit, it rarely happens.

Gothic 2 also employs the "if you can see it, then you can go there" approach to sandbox worlds, by allowing the player to climb ledges Lara Croft style, and explore various "uncharted" parts of the map. Like for example finding a cave hidden behind some bushes, only to stumble upon a shadow-beast and get torn to ribbons. There are also some quests to be found while exploring the wilderness, many of which are quite interesting and offer very useful rewards, such as persuading an Npc to teach you a special skill or two. In fact, most quests in Gothic 2 have multiple solutions and some will even have unforeseen side effects and consequences that are much more than just cosmetic. Quests range from the usual Fed Ex delivery service (which are thankfully quite rare), to the much more interesting ones such as uncovering the location of the local thieves guild, and finding evidence to incriminate them - A task that is much harder than it would seem at first glance.

Lastly, the music is mostly very well done and conveys the atmosphere of the game quite perfectly. Even the combat music is different depending on the area you're currently located in. Which again, is a very rare occurrence. Especially if you compare this game to most tripple A titles made today.

In conclusion, Gothic 2 exhibits remarkable attention to detail and dedication on the developer's part that makes this seemingly generic game shine like a supernova. And what little criticism it gets, is immediately quashed when I remember that Gothic 2's overall depth is almost unmatched by any game I have played before or since.

It's astounding that where so many mainstream studios have tried and failed for decades to produce something even remotely as interactive and immersive, a rather small and obscure European game company proves not only to be spectacularly successful, but also managed to produce one of the very best Role playing experiences ever made.

Tue, 27 Sep 2011 20:47:20 -0700 Wensea10 reviewed Pikmin for the GameCube... http://www.gamespot.com/pikmin/user-reviews/775475/platform/gamecube/ ...and gave it a 9.5!

Pikmin is a real time strategy video game for the Nintendo Gamecube. There is a single player mode in which Captain Olimar must collect his 30 spaceship parts after crashing on a planet. Challenge mode involves you growing as much Pikmin as you can in a day.

During the single player mode you start off at The Impact Site. The Impact Site is mainly special after you find blue Pikmin. The Main Engine is the first part you find in the game. It is obtainable after getting 25 red Pikmin who love fire. The Positron Generator is found with yellow Pikmin who can be thrown high and can carry bomb rocks and blue Pikmin whose specialty is going through water. It is found inside an enemy known as the Pearly Clamclamp which attacks by opening its mouth and smacking down. The enemies at The Impact Site are mainly Goolix which harms other Pikmin besides blue that touches its blue body.

The Forest of Hope has almost eight parts to get. The enemies here are Dwarf Bulborbs who attack by slowly eating Pikmin, Spotty Bulborbs that eat few Pikmin at fast paces, and male Sheargrubs that always eat one Pikmin at a time with its claws regardless how much times it is attacked. Continuing, Burrowing Snagrets that eats at the most three Pikmin with its beak and the Armored Cannon Beetle that attacks Pikmin with big boulders. The parts found here are the Shock Absorber, Eternal Fuel Dynamo, Extraordinary Bolt, Geiger Counter, Nova Blaster, Radiation Canopy, Sagittarius, and Whimsical Radar. The Shock Absorber is protected by a Spotty Bulborb. It requires 30 Pikmin to carry it. The Eternal Fuel Dynamo is protected by some Dwarf Bulborbs. It requires 40 Pikmin to carry it. The Whimsical Radar is protected by some Sheargrubs and needs yellow Pikmin. 20 Pikmin are required to carry the part. The Extraordinary Bolt also requires yellow Pikmin. 30 Pikmin are required to carry the part. The Nova Blaster is protected by a Spotty Bulborb and some Dwarf Bulborbs; yellow Pikmin are also needed. 30 Pikmin are required to carry the part. The Radiation Canopy requires blue and yellow Pikmin. 30 Pikmin are required to carry the part.

The Forest Navel also has almost ten parts. The enemies here are the Breadbug that kills Pikmin by taking them in with the object its dragging, Shearwigs that attack like Sheargrubs but can also fly, and Fiery Blowhogs that attacks with fire. Continuing, there are Wollywogs that jump on top of Pikmin, Puffstool that releases spores to brainwash Pikmin, and Beady Long Legs that steps on Pikmin. The #1 Ionium Jet needs blue Pikmin. It requires 15 Pikmin to carry. The Automatic Gear can be reached by building a stick pole. You need 15 Pikmin to carry this part. The Space Float is obtained by killing the Breadbug. 25 Pikmin are required to carry the Part. The Analog Computer requires red and blue Pikmin. 20 Pikmin are needed to carry the part. The Libra requires every Pikmin color but mainly blue Pikmin because they can activate the water geyser. The Libra requires 15 Pikmin. The Anti Dioxin Filter is protected by Wollywogs. The part requires 40 Pikmin. The Gravity Jumper can be reached with yellow Pikmin as they create a bridge. The part requires 25 Pikmin. The Interstellar Radio is in a Puffy Blowhog which is not an enemy but is protected by many water creatures. 20 blue Pikmin are required for the part. The Massage Machine is protected by a Wollywog and Spotty Bulbear; also, blue Pikmin are needed. 30 Pikmin are required for the part. The Repair Type Bolt needs yellow and blue Pikmin for use with the Candypop Buds. 20 Pikmin are needed for the spaceship part. The Ionium Jet #2 requires blue Pikmin. 15 Pikmin are needed for the space part. Last, The Chronos Reactor was eaten by an Armored Cannon Beetle and needs to be destroyed. 30 Pikmin are needed for the part.

In The Final Trial the last part remains. The only enemy here is the Emperor Bulblax. The Secret Safe is obtained by beating the Emperor Bulblax. 40 Pikmin are required for the part.

Challenge Mode challenges you in growing as much Pikmin as you can in a day. What really stand out are the levels The Forest of Hope and The Distant Spring because they are the most varied levels. The other levels can get boring rather quick.

Pikmin is an amazing video game. The single player mode is fantastic including the challenge mode surprisingly. This game is a necessity for strategy fans.
