*PLEASE NOTE: Review taken straight from the video :).

*Start trailer for Dead Island Riptide*

Ooooh no, I'm not falling for that sh*t again! How dare you Dead Island. Fool me once… shame on you. But fool me twice… shame on me. Ya bastards! Do you guys remember when the first Dead Island trailer was released?
*Start trailer for Dead Island*

It was such an emotionally moving trailer, telling the story of a family's demise during a zombie apocalypse. Frame by frame, our heart strings were tugged at. Our tear ducts began malfunctioning. And as the trailer continued to play in reverse, we kept telling ourselves… "Man… this is going to be the best zombie game ever". An emotionally driven storyline, compelling and memorable characters, free roaming first person combat . Honestly, what could go wrong?

Well it turned out that the game was nothing like that all hahaha xD. Oh man, game trailers… you gotta love them. False advertising for the win!

If you have played the original Dead Island and you thoroughly enjoyed it, you will definitely enjoy Dead Island Riptide.

Now Dead Island Riptide is certainly not for everyone. It is geared towards a special type of audience- in the end you will either love it or hate it. If you are looking for a deep and engrossing zombie apocalypse storyline, and are hoping to connect with the characters in some special way, similar to Telltales' Walking Dead game… then this game is definitely not for you.

However, if you're seeking a mindless zombie killing good time, then this is right up your alleyway. Grab yourself a weapon, and let's do this. Dead Island Riptide is a hybrid action RPG, which combines the levels, skill trees, and abilities you would find in an RPG, and crams it together with the action packed experience you would find in first person shooters. Throughout the game you will spend most of your time bashing, smashing, slashing, shooting, burning, electrifying, killing, maiming, and slaughtering zombies while performing a variety of missions and side-quests. You can also create and upgrade your weapons using a variety of materials you find along the way to increase your level of badassery and improve your zombie killing arsenal.

While it's not essential that you play Riptide with others, I would highly recommend it. To truly enjoy and get the most out of this zombie apocalypse, bringing some friends along is definitely the way to go. Playing as a loner, whoops I mean solo, can often feel tedious, lonesome, and just boring since you spend most of the time doing the same thing over and over again. But add in a friend or two and you guys will definitely have a blast. Power in numbers contributes to the overall experience that you will get out of this game.

The thing that plagues this game more than zombies however are the bugs and glitches within the game. It can sometimes feel like the game isn't even completely finished. Don't be surprised if you find yourself dying for no reason. Or if the audio suddenly cuts off. Or if vehicles suddenly disappear. Or if the mini map leads you off a cliff like a b*tch.

Overall Dead Island Riptide makes minor improvements and addresses some of the issues from the last game, but it still feels like a large DLC rather than a full-fledged sequel. If you are really into zombie games and enjoy mindless zombie slaughtering, you should definitely give this a try. However, for everyone else, stay away from this title as it may just leave you rotting in the brain.

Dead Island Riptide gets 3 "Who do you Voodoo B*TCH!" out of 5.

Sat, 20 Apr 2013 13:20:03 -0700 pspitus reviewed Gunstar Heroes for the Xbox 360... http://www.gamespot.com/gunstar-heroes/user-reviews/810463/platform/xbox360/ ...and gave it a 9.0!

Video Review: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9mzQiIq_Nsw

*NOTE: This review is taken directly from the video review linked above.

Gunstar Heroes. Oh my god, Gunstar Heroes. Easily one of the best video games on the Sega Genesis period. In fact, if you haven't played this action packed title before, and you used to own a Sega Genesis, I demand that you bow your head in shame, and smash your face against the nearest solid surface repeatedly. I mean it, I want to see blood splattered everywhere, teeth falling out, all that good stuff, and I want to be able to see those bruises from a mile away.

Nah, I'm just playing. I care about all of you guys. And I care about your well being. In fact, the only time you should ever put yourself in harm's way is if you're trying to get newest copy of Pok…mon or something.

Anyways now back to Gunstar Heroes.

Gunstar Heroes is a side scrolling action/adventure game. And the objective is to simply get from the beginning of a stage to the end of a stage while annihilating hundreds of enemies that block your path. Throughout the game you will also encounter many unique bosses that require different strategies to defeat them.
Now I'm not going to lie you guys, throughout my gaming career I have probably beaten this game with my family and friends over 25 times. Now I bet you guys are wondering? What in the world possess a gamer to re-visit a game that many freakin times?

Well I'll tell you. For one thing, the game is approximately an hour long. The second thing, is that despite it being an hour long, there is just so much… what's the technical term… stuff within the game. Yeah I used the word stuff. Don't judge me. I don't know why people think English is difficult to master. It aren't that hard.

Let me give you guys a little taste of what kind of variety of stuff is in Gunstar Heroes . In one level you're skating back and forth, jumping from one side of the screen to the next, while obliterating enemies, dodging bullets, and feeling like a total bad*ss. In another level, you're playing a board game that will test your skills as a gamer mentally and physically while trying to survive long enough to even reach the final boss. The levels, the bosses, everything has a distinct feel and play style and trust me on this, you'll never be caught experiencing the same thing twice.

Another unique feature about Gunstar Heroes is the weapons themselves. You can actually mix and match a variety of different weapons together to create even stronger weapons that give off different effects that are not only awesome to look at, but also deadly. There's just something truly amazing about watching everything and everyone explode around you as you run through the level like a trigger happy psychopath.

Now Gunstar Heroes is definitely not a perfect game, especially since there are a couple of areas where there are a lot of frame rate issues. But you know what, these imperfections can easily be looked over. I mean come on, to all my gentlemen out there… if you had the opportunity to date a super hot sexy super model and her pinky was the same height as her ring finger… would you still date her? And for all you lovely ladies out there watching this… if you had the chance to date the man of your dreams and his breath smelled of onions, would you still date him? HELLZ YEAH! Simply chop of the super model's hand, and shove a sock in that man's pipe hole, and you're good to go for an epic date!

And did I forget to mention that Gunstar Heroes give you the opportunity to troll on your friends like a champ!
Throw him off a cliff and laugh. Tolololololol.
Watch him fall on his ass. Trolololololol.
Broken bones, and plenty of bruises. Tolololololol.
Now they're dead, because they're losars! Trolololol.

Being the first game to ever get a 5 in RatedSTARZ history, Gunstar Heroes gets 5 trolololols out of 5.

Video Review: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k83LQsaBmZQ

**** PLEASE NOTE: This is written review created specifically for the video review linked above :).

The Orc. Big. Green, and Ugly. Unwanted, unloved, these creatures have faced discrimination through countless movies, books, and video games. Every day these pitiful creatures are mocked, scoffed, and slayed by human society. But now is the time for change. Together, we can fight this hate and discrimination and give these Orcs the life they deserve.

Hahahaha…. Screw that sh*t! Just like Elves, ORCS MUST DIE 2!!! *DEMON LAUGH*

Orcs Must Die 2 is an amazing Tower Defense game. The objective is simple: perform a mass genocide of Orc destruction, while defending these things called Rifts. If a set number of Orcs enter into these Rifts, the game is over. Luckily for you, the game offers numerous ways to kill these green bastards.
Welcome to another segment of Cooking with Tubbymora!

Hello sexy people! Today we will be learning how to make nice, sexy Orc dish that you bring to any get together. First you must tenderize orc meat. Listen as green tiny little bodies are crushed, and eye bulge out. If orc meat stop squealing in pain, then orc meat is ready. Next you want heat orc meat at a nice, soothing 10,000 degrees. You literally want to burn green off skin. In fact, you literally want to burn skin off. That's where all cholesterol is. Finally you skewer Orc meat with fine tip needles. The more holes in meat, the better it taste. Then you serve dish, and walla, you have make sexy orc-kabobs. Thank you for joining in segment of Cooking with Tubbymora. I see you next time! Bye Bye!

Well that was weird… ummm… so yeah. After the completion of a level, you can also earn skulls that grant you the ability to unlock new weapons, traps, and items. You can also use these skulls to upgrade the current gear you have to increase your killing potential. You even have the option to play the game solo or co-op. Whether you're a big fan of the tower defense genre, or you just like kicking virtual orc *ss, Orcs Must Die 2 is a great game with a lot of replay value that I would highly recommend to anyone.

Orc Must Die 2 gets 4 Orc Cooking Recipes… out of 5.

Video Review: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ld2i6QQEy0E

****NOTE: This is a direct written review specifically made for the video review linked above.

We follow the story of Raz. A young aspiring Psychic who dreams of being a Psychonaut - a group of elite agents who battles evil doers with their minds. In pursuit of his life long dream, Raz decides to run away from home and join the Whispering Rock Psychic Summer Camp, a place where young kids are given the opportunity to test and strengthen their mental powers and eventually become a Psychonaut. To put it in shorter terms, it's basically Psychic Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts minus the cookies, and tacky uniforms of course. GOD, I hate those uniforms, they always gave me butt sweat.

But moving on, hehehe get it? Cuz I said butt. *cough* Anyway...

Psychonauts is an great action/adventure platforming game. What makes this game so amazing is not the bone crushing, cry inducing, piss your pants difficulty, but rather the attention to the weird, freaky, character designs, laugh out loud humor, and imaginative levels. As Raz enters into different people's minds within the game, you'll be introduced to a great variety of worlds from Coach Oleander's battlefield of pain and misery, to Agent Vodello's bumpin' groovy mind party.

In fact, there's so much variety within the game, it would literally make anyone's head explode! KABOOM! Hey, you see that pink thing on the wall over there behind the couch? Yeah, that's a portion of your brain. Don't worry brah... it's normal. MIND BLOWN!

Also, what other games out there allow you to assert your dominance over feeble, pathetic, little kids!?

BOW DOWN TO ME!

BEHOLD MY POWER!

WHERE DO YOU THINK YOU'RE GOING!?

I'm going to slap you with my face!

MAKE ME A SANDWICH AND THEN THROW IT AWAY YOU PUNK*SS!

Tubbymora, and RatedSTARZ, do not advocate violence against small little children, virtually or in real life in any way, shape, or form. If you've been offended by the previous clips, please feel free to contact 1-800- TubbyHatesKids. I repeat 1-800- TubbyHatesKids. Your calls will be recorded, then deleted cuz we don't give a crap. But feel free to call the number and support your local blood drive today.

Psychonauts is the epitome of a great action/adventure platforming game. If you're looking for a fresh/new gaming experience, or just want a good ol' stomach cramping laughing fiesta, this is the game to go to.

Psychonauts gets 4 child abuse lawsuits.... out of 5.

Final Fantasy 7 is a classic. The game is great. The characters are special, the graphics were pretty good for its time, the game play was on point and who can really mention Final Fantasy 7 without mentioning the FREAKING MUSIC??! I really love the characters and just about everything else about the game. However, when you mix in the music everything just fit. I think this was the second Final Fantasy title I played after 3. After playing, 3, 7, 8, 9, 10, 12, Tactics and the first Tactics game on the GBA I must say that this game is still my favorite Final Fantasy. It's spectacular. And while I honestly don't think I could play through the game again today it still holds up as one of the best games I've ever played. Definitely the best RPG game I've ever played. If I hadn't booted it up and played it so much in the past I might feel different about owning it again. However, if you've never played the game (do you live under a rock?!) then it's really a great idea to try it somehow. If you missed it because you were too young/not born when it came out in '97 then do so. Now. :)

Final rating --------> 10/10

Tue, 29 Jan 2013 20:49:56 -0800 Cloud_765 reviewed Mighty Switch Force! for the 3DS... http://www.gamespot.com/mighty-switch-force/user-reviews/806911/platform/3ds/ ...and gave it a 8.0.

You're a cop. Your car has crashed and all of your captured convicts have escaped! In order to find them and bring justice, you must traverse the levels and use your jump, blaster, and platform-controlling siren. Surprisingly enough, this formula works fantastic.

The basic gameplay is that on each of the initial 16 levels, you have to use your blaster to get rid of enemies, jump to different platforms, and the key piece to this game, the siren, which switches what platforms are solid and which ones are transparent with the push of a button. Each level contains 5 felons you must capture, and when all of them have been caught, you find the transport mech to take you to the next level. Each level has a par time you can attempt to top, which is where the challenge comes in.

There are several types of blocks the siren controls. There's the ordinary goldish-tan color, which are normal solid platforms controlled by the siren on and off. Some of them are lined up in ways to make platforming tricky, requiring you press the button to switch the platforms mid-jump.

There's also launch blocks, which are purple and launch anything (enemy or you!) in the direction of the arrow of the block, when triggered. Some levels contain puzzles built entirely around this, other levels contain mini-puzzles where you need to launch an enemy through a path of these blocks to get them to reach something to trigger a needed switch.

The final of these is the lock blocks, which will not fade out if you are standing on one. Typically, some blocks will fade out and cannot be used while others will fade in. These make the puzzles even more complex. These tend to combine later on with the regular yellow ones to create tricky platform puzzles.

Your blaster, less used than your trusty siren, is capable of breaking small blocks in your path, or defeating enemies. Sometimes an enemy which is hard to defeat may need to be provoked through the blaster then defeated when you switch a block from transparent to solid to crush them. In addition, enemies and yourself can be crushed if you are standing where a block can be switched on, and that block does switch on with you right there (or the enemy). Your character has 3 hearts, and if you lose them all, you are thrown back to the level select. You can choose to retry a level when you pause the game or quit to the level select as well.

There are 16 levels in the game, with increasing difficulty. New puzzles are constantly introduced, and the platforming aspect is made trickier with the switchable blocks needing to be controlled with more and more finesse. Each of these levels are often highly replayable, and are tons of fun. You tend to feel a decent sense of accomplishment at the end of a level. To help you locate any missing felons or the transport mech, the radar on the bottom screen will show you which direction they're in.

The final main level is a "boss level" of sorts, which tests the player on everything they've learned. It uses everything up to that point, while making the player climb higher and higher up a building of sorts... with your siren unable to be controlled yourself, but rather be on a timer. At the end of this is a boss which as it is injured sets free a felon for you to capture (as there are no felons on the climb up). Defeating this boss unlocks a superpowered blaster to use in the first 16 levels, and the first of 5 bonus levels is unlocked. Defeating these bonus levels and reaching the par time on any level is where you'll find yourself soaking up more time playing this game.

The music is fantastic. Trance-like techno beats, and driving rhythms guide you through level after level. There's a couple dozen tracks to the game soundtrack in all, and all of them are quite catchy, with a few standing out really well. I highly recommend giving the OST a listen to even if you're not sold on the game concept, as the soundtrack is just great listening. The sound effects are nice, from the pew pew of the blaster, to the glass-shattering when something is launched into the screen from a block switch, to the explosions of the bomb enemies, and even the voice of the heroine rooting you on. They get the job done well.

The graphics are decent, colorful and fairly satisfying. The drawn environments where the game takes place (a trashy city ridden with criminals running away from the heroine) can be fairly eye-catching, but they slowly tend to recycle themselves slightly. Aside from that, the animations are decently detailed and give everything in the world of the game life. The 3D effects make shooting something into the screen that much more entertaining.

The game's biggest draw is in challenge and replayability. You will not reach any par times on your first run, I can almost guarantee you. But striving for those fast times (speed-running the entire game, essentially), as well as completing those optional bonus levels, is one of the game's most attractive features. The levels themselves are replayable just out of their entertainment value alone, regardless of how fast you can complete the level. Unfortunately, the main game is short, and will likely be completed in just a few hours. The replay value will bring the game time up a lot more, likely over the amount of time it took to beat the main game.

Breakdown:
Pros...
+High replay value
+Great music
+Unique, tricky mix of puzzle and platforming gameplay
+Only $5.99 off the eShop - really, get this game

Cons...
-Graphics, while nice, are slightly recycled later in the game
-The one boss in the game lacks challenge and is a Giant Space Flea From Nowhere

Scores:
Gameplay - 8.5/10
Presentation - 7/10
Sound - 8.5/10
Graphics - 7.5/10
Tilt - 8.5/10

Overall - 8/10

While a short main game experience, Mighty Switch Force is filled with flatteringly tricky puzzle/platforming gameplay that begs to be replayed. It also has fantastic music your ears will love, and the detailed sprite animations are catching. For only $6 off the eShop you can get a very good, worthwhile game for the 3DS. If you have an interest in platformers and puzzles, and access to the eShop, this is a game you definitely want to try.

Tue, 15 Jan 2013 08:27:58 -0800 Ilovegames1992 reviewed Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic for the Xbox... http://www.gamespot.com/star-wars-knights-of-the-old-republic/user-reviews/806288/platform/xbox/ ...and gave it a 9.5!

I thought since i like to write things down to keep my brain from thinking too much, i'm going to start reviewing games. I've always wanted to be a games reviewer but never had the initiative or skill to pull it off. I guess this site is a good outlet for that and the fact that very few, if any, will read this so i don't feel pressured to write anything other than my total honest opinion. I figured in what better way to start my path of reviewing games than by talking about one of my favourite games of all time.

As i write this, i am currently replaying through KOTOR for around the 7th or 8th time. I remember first playing it on my birthday as a very impressionable 12 year old in 2003, being a fan of the 'good' trilogy of Star Wars films as a kid, i tended to lap up Star Wars games like children would lap up fizzy pop. I played all of them, even the bad ones. So to me, at the time, this was no different to any Star Wars game i'd have played and so wasn't exactly hyped. I was just a child, i didn't really look at reviews and didn't really know about developers. I just bought a game i liked the look of and went with it.

Right from the get go it starts out well, you get this very Star Wars-esque epic opening cinematic with the brilliant Star Wars music motif playing. Then when you start the game, you get the opening crawl complete with John Williams' masterpiece. Right off the bat, it just feels like Star Wars.

You then open to a ship under fire after selecting your impressive range of skills and abilities, it throws you in at the deep end but it is a relatively friendly tutorial.

At this time, i was only used to the RPG gameplay of JRPGs like FF VIII and FF IX so this game was mind blowing to me. The combat system is round based and uses the D20 system, also used by Dungeons and Dragons. Whilst this went over my head as a child, all i knew was that if i equip the best weapon, armor, implants and shields and keep plugging away, i'd get through all right. It is a combat system that Obsidian stuck with for the sequel (another time, another review), so obviously must have been a hit with the players.

The game does a great job of immersing you into the player. At the time, the player is you and has the identity and skills you give. You can also mould the personality of the player. he/she can be dark as a Sith Lord., a holier than though Jedi Knight or a sit on the fence neutral. This can be through conversational options and decisions. Usually accompanied by a piece of Star Wars music and a red or blue shroud emanating from you respectively.

The amount of time spent playing the game is extraordinary. the game's main story is long enough but mix in enough side quests and you can spend around 50+ hours playing the game. But its finding the all elusive Star Forge and

In my personal opinion though, the real genius to this what Bioware have gone onto to make their trademark. Its their brilliant gripping story and characters. I love the characters. It can be argued that it (and Bioware's later titles) follows pretty stringent tropes and story ideas but it just so happens i love that storytelling. I love assembling a rag tag bunch of misfits and watching them interact with the player and with each other. You get attached to these characters and don't want to see them die in any way. You have Carth, a republic war hero with trust issues, you have Bastila, a powerful young Jedi who is bonded to you and acts as a romantic foil if you play as a male character, you have Mission, a streetwise urchin who has street smarts and is constantly travelling with Zalbaar, a huge Wookie exiled from his home world who swears a life debt to you. You have T3M3, the R2D2 of the group, you have HK47, the homicidal alternative to C3PO if you will and is one of my favourite fictional characters in any medium. Rounding off the cast is Jolee Bindo, a famous old curmudgeon Jedi who toes the neutral line but is good at heart, Canderous Ordo, a Mandalorian struggling to find glory in the present day so hooks up with you for great battles, again, another personal favourite of mine. Finally, you have Juhani, a jedi who you meet who has temporarily turned to the dark side until you turn her back, or not.

There are plenty of side missions and minigames to keep you going. If you like gambling, you can play Pazaak, a Blackjack like game with a twist. If you like more exciting means of enjoyment, you can try Swoop Racing, an Old Republic equivalent to pod racing.

Complete with the one of the most class OMG WTF moments in gaming, this game is sure to immerse you into the fantastic world of Star Wars and give you real bang for your buck.

I definitely give this a 9.0 out of 10. I think it loses marks for certain glitches and unexplained dead avenues in certain areas of the game, likely due to time constraints. Also the combat could be considered an acquired taste. Its not totally free hack and slash but its not fixed turn based either.

Overall i'd highly recommend this for anyone who loves Star Wars or immersive RPGs.

Hope you enjoyed reading this. :)

Mon, 31 Dec 2012 16:23:08 -0800 pspitus reviewed Catherine for the Xbox 360... http://www.gamespot.com/catherine/user-reviews/805551/platform/xbox360/ ...and gave it a 8.5.

Here is a link to the video review if you guys are interested and don't feel like testing out your reading skillz :P

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F3MbSVdrfzw
_________________
Story:

To cheat or not to cheat... why yes... that is the question. And it is also the theme for the game Catherine. *whispers* By the way, you probably shouldn't cheat especially if you don't want to get the shivic beaten out of you.... anyways let's get back on topic XD. In Catherine you play as Vincent Brooks, a 32 year old male who has been taking life one day at a time. He has no future goals. He has no plans. All he wants is things to stay the same. And by same, I mean continue to hang out with his friends at the bar and drink so much until he experiences liver failure. :P.

Vincent Brooks has been with his beloved girlfriend Katherine (Katherine with a K) for five years now. And while things have been going pretty good... Katherine feels like it's time to take their relationship to the next level. Moving in together, marriage, children, etc... in other words... commitment. The thing Vincent fears the most. One night, Vincent meets a hot young blonde bombshell name Catherine (Catherine with a C), and "accidently" has a one night stand with her after a hard nights work of drinking at the bar. Unable to believe what he has done, and unable to face the guilt, Vincent must decide if he wants to save what's left of his relationship with Katherine (Katherine with a K) or start fresh with his hot new dream girl, Catherine (Catherine with a C). And he has to do all of this while surviving night after night in this horrific dream where he has to climb a mountain of blocks while dodging traps, sheep, and and.... okay... I'm going to stop there before I confuse you guys any further :P.

Catherine is a weird game especially when it comes to its story elements. But it's the weirdness of the game that gives off an undeniable charm that can easily hook anyone. Once someone starts playing, they'll want to keep playing to find out what happens next in Vincent's melodramatic love life.

______________

Gameplay:

I bet all this talk of romance, drinking, marriage, and baby making (oh yeah!) is giving off the vibe that Catherine is a full fledged dating simulator. Nope. Not even close. Catherine is actually a... dare I say it... a puzzle game! DUM DUM DUUUUUUUUUUM! Hey, get back here, don't you dare turn off this video! Before you get your underwear tied in a knot, hear me out. While it may turn some people off (hehehe see what I did there), Catherine is a great puzzle game from top to bottom.

A huge bulk of the game involves Vincent climbing/pushing/pulling blocks to reach the top of a level or area. Sounds easy right? Hahaha, you couldn't be far from wrong. Just like chess, while the concept of moving blocks is easy to grasp, it's another story when it comes down to mastering the game. This game will make you think. Add in special trap blocks into the mix, and strategic boss battles, and your brain will be needing surgery long after the game has ended. The puzzles in Catherine will brutally beat you down, but just like Dark Souls, the unrelenting challenge is what will drive you to keep pushing forward. Either that, or make you rage quit hahaha!

When you're not testing your brain power during the puzzle levels, you'll spend the rest of your time at the Stray Sheep, Vincent's favorite place to hang out with his friends and knock back a couple of brewskies. It is here where the game starts to feel like a dating sim hahaha. At the bar you can perform a variety of activities such as talk to your friends, get advice, mingle with bar customers, play an arcade game, use the jukebox, and use the toilet to look at dirty pictures that Catherine sends you... :P. Yeah... and that's not even the sexiest pictu- all right moving on hahaha.

Catherine does a great job in blending and mixing these two gameplay styles, puzzle solving and hanging out at the bar, and brings it all together into one cohesive and memorable gaming experience.

Graphics:

Catherine is absolutely beautiful. Both the character and the game hahaha! Just like Catherine, the game is sleek, sexy, and drop dead gorgeous. Catherine utilizes a vibrant cel shaded style of graphics, and it matches the look, and feel of the entire game. The art direction is visually freaky, and at the same time, visually stunning. From the character design to the environment design, everything is top notch. There aren't that many girls that look and feel this way, and that's not a bad thing. Hahaha, oh wait did I say girls? I meant to say games... you know what... let's just move on hahaha.

Sound:

Shoji Meguro, the mastermind behind the music of the Persona series, does it again. The in-game music is absolutely amazing. He takes traditional classical music and gives it his own unique modern twist. Don't be surprised if you find yourself humming, bobbing your head, and just standing there to engulf yourself in the amazing soundtrack that Shoji Meguro fabricated himself.

The voice acting is also top notch, and Laura Bailey (the voice actor of Catherine with a C) plays her role as a seductive temptress, very nicely. With a strong cast of voice actors, and believable voice acting, this is one performance you'll never forget. The characters feel real, and it's almost as if you're there sitting there with them knocking back some beers and discussing Vincent's love life problems.

Overall:

Overall Catherine does not disappoint, if you know what I mean! *cough* Sorry about that. With great puzzle elements, an engrossing storyline, catchy music, and top-notch voice acting, you'd be crazy not to fall in love with Catherine. You know what they say, how do you know if you like her if you don't try her, errr I mean it... you know...the game... okay you know what let's just announce the score.

Final Score:

Catherine gets 8.5 ruined relationships out of 10.

It's another beautiful day in Spiral Mountain. The birds are singing, the trees are swinging, and the crazy green witch with boils on her face is wreaking havoc around the mountain. Ahhhh it doesn't get any better than that. Whoa, what? In Banjo Kazooie you play as a back pack wearing bear named Banjo alongside his obnoxious bird partner Kazooie. Together they go on adventure to save Banjo's sister from the clutches of the evil Gruntilda, a rhyming witch who feels very insecure about her looks. Okay, I bet you're thinking that I made all that up just now, but to tell you the truth, I'm not lying. That's pretty much the gist of the game. It's an incredibly funny yet simple story; you just have to look at the BIGGER picture. If you know what I mean. It's okay if you don't.

Banjo Kazooie is a plat forming game of the highest caliber. Even though the game was released nearly ten years ago, it still holds up incredibly well with all the other recent platformers such as Ratchet and Clank: Quest for Booty and the Jak and Daxter series.

Throughout the game you will spend most of your time running, jumping, swimming, and flying your way through levels to obtain jigsaw pieces. That's right jigsaw pieces. How else do you expect to open doors to other worlds without jigsaw pieces, it's elementary my dear Watson. There are also many collectibles for you to ummm….. collect within levels from floating magical skulls to hopping musical notes. All of which will benefit you one way or another. Musical notes, for example, allow you access to doors around the world while magical skulls give you the power to transform into things like animals, and pumpkins? Yeah, I know, the game is weird. In the end, there are a sheer variety of things to do and collect within the game. Banjo Kazooie will keep you busy until the credits start rolling.

Banjo and Kazooie have a variety of moves at their disposal to make their life, and yours, a little bit easier. Banjo has the ability to climb trees (he's a bear duh), swim, roll, and perform melee attacks. Kazooie plays as a support character for Banjo, she can help Banjo swim faster and move quickly. She can also be used as a devastating weapon to strengthen Banjo's attacks- she's sort of like a pocket knife with a beak. Sort of.

The level design within the game is absolutely phenomenal. The levels vary from ice covered mountains to run down haunted mansions. Every level has its own unique appeal, you'll never be caught playing the same thing twice. After playing an area you'll want to continue in the game just to see what's next in store. The game is just that satisfying and addicting.

The in-game soundtrack is…..how do I put it…. phenomenal, no wait I just said that, did I say breathtaking? No, well then it's breathtaking. Every song in the game is incredibly catchy, there should be a law prohibiting a single game to have this many catchy songs. It's a crime people, a very good crime. The voice acting on the other hand is……passable yet annoying. I'm not even sure if making a bunch of random noises counts as voice acting, but oh well, it's all good.

Overall: Banjo Kazooie stands the test of time and proves what a TRUE plat former should be like. With it's simple yet intriguing storyline, lovable characters, amazing levels, and painfully catchy music, this is one gaming experience you'll want to enjoy again and again.

I'm not even a straight guy but this game was awesome. Gorgeous visuals, interesting characters and gameplay that is pretty addicting. You play as the attractive main character, Vincent who is confused about his life and where his relationship is headed with his girlfriend, Katherine. He often goes to the bar to meet up with his friends to talk about guy things and catch up on what is happening around town. I felt that the male characters' bond was one of the most intriguing aspects of the game. The main gameplay however is puzzle-related and happens in Vincent's dreams. You find yourself in a nightmare and having to tower and maneuver yourself around these different blocks. At first it is pretty easy and straightforward to manage your way to the top. But after a few stages it gets increasingly difficult. Now I haven't played this game since like April but I'm a bit more than halfway through the game and think it's worth it. The controls take some getting used to but can be mastered within a half hour or so.

I think it'd be weird to make a review of this game and forget the main attraction though: The other Catherine. She is the sexy blond girl who is alluring yet has a short temper. She knows how to get her way too! Catherine is the girl who helps Vincent cheat on his girlfriend Katherine and Vincent eventually starts feeling really bad about it. Another one of the cool things about this game though happens after you climb the mountain of blocks in a level and get to the end. You wander around a large, floating rock where there are sheep men and eventually you have to go into the confession booth. The booth presents you with a question of morality and such and you have to give your opinion on what you think is right for you or what you believe. Then after that's over it goes to a screen that shows the percentage of what men and women said online. It's really neat.

There are more things about this game that are pleasing and I could go on and on but I'm gonna end the review here. It's definitely different from any puzzle game I've ever played and I really like the story and characters that go along with it. I think most people who like video games and are 17 or older should try this game at least once.

I loved the first Fear title. I found the storyline to be rich and intriguing with some really good gameplay mechanics. The second Fear title I found to be a quick throw together, the kind of title that's likely developed in the east in some non-English speaking country just to turn a quick profit, honestly...it was terrible. This title however, redeems itself pretty well. I can say with certainty this is the first game I've played in quite a while that had absolutely no glitches in it whatsoever. Not with collision, graphics anomalies, sound, models, nothing. It played quite well. The controls and game mechanics are what you'd expect to find in a Fear title, pretty much the same as the original. You still have control of the time dilation to allow for Max Payne like takedowns. As you progress through the levels, you'll find yourself quickly exploring every single nook and cranny in the hopes you will find more ammo, a psychically charge corpse (which can be used to rank yourself up by absorbing the psychic energy) or an Alma doll (which also adds to your psychic energy rank up). The more psychic energy you absorb from the hidden dolls and specific corpses, the more you will rank (or level) up and gain more time dilation ability. The run feature has a nice added bonus being that you can run then melee which will cause a sliding kick making it easy to then continually melee your victims to death. A common theme in this game is "Where is the ammo?", so you'll more than likely find yourself taking quick pot shots using your ranged weapons, then running up and meleeing to save ammo. The graphics have been amped up quite a bit the keep up with the modern hardware. The sound and visuals were all pretty good. The storyline was also surprisingly good. This time around, your psychic brother is with you in spirit. At first glance this type of scenario comes off as a bit much, but in time you learn to really like having your brother appear from time to time, he even lends a hand to save you in some of the cutscenes, well done guys. The gameplay itself although linear in nature is pretty decent. The game is a bit short in my opinion, I was able to walk through it in just a few hours on normal. However, for those of you out there that like to play multiplayer, you may enjoy some of the varied modes this game offers. I would suggest this game if you're a fan of the franchise but I wouldn't go out of my way to get it. If you have a few extra bucks and some spare time, grab it off a discount site.

Admittedly I'm not a fan of lego games however, this game is by far the most fun and exciting game of this genre. The game follows the basic story line for the most part regarding Lord of The Rings, but it embellishes with humorous side stepping and comedic behavior. The problem solving is greatly heightened by the ability to swap between party characters at any time. All characters in your party have a specific special ability which can unlock or perform a required action to solve a puzzle. For example, Sam can light fires and cook, Legolas can shoot arrows, Gimli can break heavy stone coverings, etc. The entire paradigm lends itself very well to the game's overall fun. The fighting is simple and single button. The multi-player (2-player console) mode makes it very fun to play with another. The cut-scenes are anywhere from humorous to exciting. The graphics are good, as you'd expect from a lego styled game. The sound is spot on, with voices and clips that match the original theatrical score. All said and done, this game is an amazing amount of fun, highly recommended even if you're not a fan of lego games like myself.

The previous Half-Life title and all follow up titles were really good, but this title is simply Amazing. I would have to say that Half-Life 2 is my new favorite FPS. The story line continues where the previous title left off and continues it well. The graphics are fantastic, almost real to life in some areas. The game play and mechanics are all great, easy controls and no detectable quirks or hiccups. The sound is great, dark ambiance with moments of excitement and stress. The characters are very life like with deep facial expressions and matched lip to voice movements. People familiar with the previous Half-Life title will have no problem picking up the new controls. The story line is deep and intriguing and leaves the player wanting more when all is said and done. An amazing achievement by all current standards.

I've been a huge fan of this series since the first Half-Life and all played through all of the follow-up titles including Opposing Force, Blue Shift and Half-Life 2. This game is no exception. The graphics, sound, game play and mechanics are all stunning and amazing. The story line continues where the previous title left off and only adds to deepen the plot. The game controls are exactly the same as the previous which makes it very easy to just pick up and start playing with no tutorial or primer. The characters are vibrant, very well done and really add to the games already good ambiance. The level design although linear plays extraordinarily well. The sound fits perfectly adding to the overarching gloom and despair of the game all the while combined with hope and excitement. The only negative I have regarding this title is the amount of time it took for me to complete it. I finished it the same day that I purchased it. Another winning title from Valve. Can't wait the play the next installment whenever that becomes available.

Chronicles of Riddick: Assault on Dark Athena is the third installment of the Chronicles of Riddick game franchise and by far the worst. Unfortunately this game lends itself to many glitches and otherwise lazy efforts in both level design and game play. One of the more annoying aspects of the game is the way you are able to get shot while completely hidden behind or even inside of an otherwise completely obscured container, very poor shot collision detection. Just behind that is the amazing ability to get shot from enemies that aren't even facing your direction...hmmm. The level design although very well done visually in some areas is very linear and feels almost like that scene from Galaxy Quest where they're trying to make their way through the engine room and there are objects chopping and smashing for absolutely no reason. There are also quite a few sprite, particle and air born weapon errors. Occasionally when firing a weapon, it would just stop working and there would be a frozen muzzle flash stuck in mid air, or when a rocket was fired sometimes it would just circle around in the air forever and downed enemies would sometimes develop crazy leg syndrome. The game does have some positive points however, the voice acting was very well done and includes Vin Dielsel and Lance Henriksen. The sneak, kill and stealth aspects were all well done. The hand to hand fighting was decent with a decent set of varying moves, blocks and counter attacks. However, overall I would not recommend this game unless you are a huge fan of the Riddick series as a whole. The game just appears rushed and not polished at all.

It's so stupid and generic that makes Duty Calls look like a serious full-fledged game. In fact, 007 Legends is far for being fully developed. It's nothing but advertisement and not only for the upcoming Skyfall movie, but for other brands. I'm not saying the previous games had a lack of advertisements, but this is one of the worst product placements in gaming history.
In the movies and every 007 game before this one, gadgets had a very important role to play, even if a brief one. This time around, gadgets are a nuisance, useless garbage that can only be used on a specific point in the game. You get your Sony Xperia smartphone and the Omega Seamaster Planet Ocean 600 M Skyfall Limited Edition wrist watch, of course. The thing is, James Bond has a Sony Xperia T in the Skyfall movie, an Omega Seamaster watch and a great self-esteem as always, but what kind of an egocentristical f**k has it's own code name branded on the his watch?
There's a checkpoint marker every few meters. They couldn't just make a damn smartphone map that shows the objective and let you decide your own way to get there. It's always "hold [button] to [action]".
Once you get to your destination, there's a big chance you'll have to use a minigame on your smartphone or on the watch to get the job done. Those minigames are as stupid as they can get and I won't even bother describing them.
The game goes to great lenghts to teach players the new stuff, like crouching behind crates to hide from enemies and pushing buttons at specific times. Is this what over 30 years of video gaming is supposed to look like?
There are only a few moments in the entire game that demand total discretion and only last for a couple of minutes. Also, these mandatory "stealth" sections are incredibly dumb, like the guards positioning themselves as far away from each other and in strategic view-obstructioned places to make it as convenient as it can for you to take them out.
The story starts with a falling James Bond after a friendly sniper accidentaly shoots him. That scene alone is reason to doubt the quality of this game. I will jump over the fact that it looked rushed and low quality and straight to the shortness of the prelude.
Never have I seen a Bond story start off so abrupt and easy. The Bond theme is one other iconic element of the franchise, good or bad. The fact that they decided to give a larger interest to Goldfinger over the other chapters makes sense and being the first chapter in the campaign is a good reason to use the Goldfinger theme. But what the hell? I guess it's an okay modern instrumental take on one of the greatest themes of the series.... NO! It's an abomination! It's a minute and ten seconds of a goat begging to die. How awesome was "I'll take it all" compared to this crap? But it just goes to show how limited was the budget and the team that worked on this game.
Every whole movie that's supposed to be featured here was crunched into a linear shooting gallery with average to bad voice overs and the most brief and boring dialogues I've ever seen in a game. Don't even ask about boss fights. Every encounter is just a brawl quick-timed event that gives you enough time to punch-out Oddjob or Jaws in the most pathetic recreations of those respective scenes. Just awful!
Sometimes we get to witness from first person perspective some of the iconic scenes from the frachise, like the famous Goldfinger's one-liner response "No, mister Bond... I expect you to die!" as we are strapped to a longchair with a laser between our crotches. The setting isn't very familiar for James Bond movie buffs, the scene looks obviously constrained and hurried, but it works. There's that and the characters look good, but Eurocom most certainly worked on the same engine as GoldenEye 007: Reloaded and imported most stuff from that game. It makes sense, because that was a much better game than this one. The graphics aren't that great either, but that would be a stretch by now, to hammer on the graphics. Some might even complain over the presence of Daniel Craig's mug in Goldfinger or Moonraker, instead of Sean Connery and respectively Roger Moore, or the other actors in the other movies/chapters. Well, nothing against dedication and nostalgia, but would you really want the guys that came up with this game's story to explain the 6 different faces of one Bond? I thought so.
I know this game is supposed to celebrate the 50 years anniversary of James Bond's movies, but I only feel that it's anything but respectfull and doesn't do justice to Bond as a character or his story.
My final verdict is 4 and it pains me to give this score to such a promising game, but they chose to butcher this game just because they can and there's no other excuse for that.

I loved this game. I found the game mechanics, story line, sound effects and music absolutely fantastic. I'm a big fan of stealth kill games that follow in the footsteps of Hitman and similar. This game definitely follows in those footsteps as well. The hidden flags throughout the game drive map exploration as does the eagle eye views and sub quests. The graphics are beautifully done, well textured and shadowed. The free running aspect of the game really lends itself to quick escapes and adds a bit of a excitement when needing to travel from one end of the city to the other. The game battle mechanics are great too, allowing you to unlock new moves and quests are completed. Throwing, counter attacks, blocks, all included. The ability to low profile and high profile kill really let's you explore what is acceptable and what isn't depending on bystanders and onlookers. The music is done very well and adds to the games overall immersement. The story line is very rich and deep. So deep in fact that if you pay close attention, you'll begin to get a sense of a much larger conspiracy theme. Overall this was a great play, a must play for fans of the stealth genre or fans of Prince of Persia type games.

Darksiders was pretty decent game all around. I wouldn't say it was spectacular in any one way, it was what you'd expect from a third person styled hack and slash. It combines level up capabilities with exploration and combination or move based combat. The storyline was decent, once again not spectacular but enough to keep the player interested. Hidden chests and the collection of souls to power-up weapons and moves drive level exploration. The fighting style and slow motion end moves or fatalities add a bit of flare to the otherwise constant button mashing. The graphics are decent, and the PC version doesn't really allow you to scale up or down the graphics to match your computer's capabilities leaving the textures and models just decent looking. The music suits the game. All in all, the game is a decent play if you like the third person hack and slash genre. No real ground breaking anything, just another decent game.

I found this game on PSN for $2.50, this game was a waste of both time and money. I can't believe this game debuted for $14.99. This game is broken in every way. The screen tearing is atrocious, the graphics are painful, and story is almost non-existent. There is absolutely no reason for anyone to purchase this crap. Even though it's discounted for a special time, just pass it up. I played this game for 47 minutes, that was 46 minutes too long. Just say no to Amy! Graphics - Horrible (Screen Tearing, to many trails on character models) Sound - Grating and Annoying. Game-play - Awful (Clunky Combat, Stiff Character Models, Horrible Collision Detection) Replay Value - NONE! (If you beat the first level and not die of boredom first, Kudos to you!) All-in-all, this game sucks, please do not buy! Thank you!
