Fallout 3's Point Lookout looked to be the best DLC & I was very excited about it. I downloaded it Day 1, however my excitement was smacked away almost immediately. Within 10 minutes into it my game froze up, went to a brownish color covering the entire screen & restarting the console was the only solution. I was surprised because I could not recall the last time I had a freeze if ever throughout the entire game & every other DLC that has been released prior to PL. So I got back in & went to load up a save I made at PL, however it then froze while loading my game. That pretty much wraps it up, every save I've made at Point Lookout becomes corrupted & it constantly freezes so bad its unplayable. Not only will it freeze at PL, but going back to the wasteland the freezing will continue as long as the Point Lookout DLC is downloaded. Delete it & everything works perfectly. I've contacted Bethesda a few time regarding these issues, which according to other websites & Bethesda's own forums it is wide spread, & their response to me is that there are no known problems with their DLC & that everyone whom is having the problems with freezing has an Xbox 360 that overheats. I told them I have no problems with any of my other games & my console only feels just a little warm after several hours of gaming yet they once again told me that Xbox 360 owners may experience problems running the Point Lookout DLC due to the console's overheating issues. This is pathetic, Bethesda makes me sick now.

Perhaps you were not lucky enough to hear of this title before now, if that is the case I urge you to read on, it might change your life (it probably won't but maybe that was enough to make you stay OH **** you can see my thoughts :O).

Anyways, the game begins quite quickly revealing the main character with the laughable name of Travis Touchdown, a lazy loser otaku obsessed with some anime about 3 witches who wins a beam sword off an internet auction. From the beginning you can tell the creators were not being serious with the story, and that is part of what helps this game achieve greatness. Travis quickly meets a Woman named Sylvia who promises to "Do him" if he reaches rank 1 of an assassins league. He takes the challenge needless to say.

So that's about the extent of the story I can reveal, I don't want to spoil anything. The controls are quite basic A is swing, use the wii remote to switch between high and low stances and when an enemy has had it use the wii remote to chop em right in half. The controls work really well for this game, and I think you'll have a hard time finding anything to complain about.

The sound is the major down point for me. I don't think its my sound system but feel free to PM me if I am wrong. For whatever reason the sound all throughout the game sounds as though it was recorded in a really cheap audio booth. It has a weird echo like effect to it, and while I think its a bit irritating at first I stopped noticing after 10 minutes or so.

The graphics for the main games fighting scenes and levels are spectacular. The cel shaded graphics work fantastically for the game and the blood and gore looks incredibly surreal. It has an interesting art style which for me never really got old. The city unfortunately doesn't look so incredible. It seems to show the wii's hardware limits perhaps, thankfully, you won't be seeing a whole lot of the city and when you do it will often be traveling.

All in all the game was a rush. The fights were awesome, the story was funny and everything has a bit of personality. Every boss has their own personality and it really makes this title an interesting play, best of all its a bargain bin title now. For $20, this game is a great addition to your wii collection.

Thu, 29 Jan 2009 00:19:15 -0800 falconclan reviewed Sonic Unleashed for the Wii... http://www.gamespot.com/sonic-unleashed/user-reviews/641707/platform/wii/ ...and gave it a 8.0.

I remember back maybe a year or a year and a half ago when the first details of this game came about. Needless to say I was not impressed by the details. The game in detail seemed to lack any fore thought, a werehog? Come on! However when the game was released I found it to be quite different, amazingly everything came together quite well.

The base story line didn't make much sense, but honestly I wasn't really looking for a good story when I asked for this game for Christmas. All you need to know is you are about to defeat robotnik when something goes wrong and sonic is launched to earth where it is broken into 7 pieces. In doing so you seemingly fell on a poor lad named Chip who can't remember anything about himself, at the same time you turn into a "werehog" at night.

Anyways, forget all that it doesn't matter. The games sonic levels are stunningly reminiscent of the original sonic games, at points I felt a bit nostalgic. You'll usually just run through the levels collecting rings to stay alive and use a boost to finish the level faster, on occasions you'll do a ring collection stage where you collect a certain amount of rings to move on and other times it'll be more time attack. All in all, the levels are fast, fun and interesting to play.

After you are done with the sonic levels you usually move onto the "werehog" levels, and I played the 360/PS3 version prior to the wii version so needless to say I figured I would be disappointed, but everything turned out better than expected. The controls were easy to learn obviously, and there are plenty of enemies to smack around. The stages usually finish up with a "grand finale" style fight where you take on about 20 enemies or so to really rack up those skill points.

The stages mesh a lot better than expected. While the regular sonic stages are great, the werehog stages are a great way to break up the action.

The bosses are a bit of a split, some you'll fight in werehog form and others you'll fight as sonic. All the boss fights are fought in different ways and they are a whole lot of fun to watch and play.

The sound is pretty good, it would have been nice if the wii was equipped with optical so you could experience true surround sound, but its not like this game has many gigantic explosions or war zones to really require it, all in all the sound is good.

The graphics for a wii game were quite well done. There will be edges I think could have been more rounded and some textures that I think could have been better, but honestly I don't expect the best graphics in any wii game.

All in all this wasn't the most perfect sonic game, but this definitely put sonic back on the map for me. Sega seems to be making more of an effort to revamp their image, lets hope they keep it up with more games like Sonic: Unleashed.

Buy it.

They sure are harsh on games that aren't just absolutely amazing. Legendary isn't amazing by no means, but its not god awful either. A basic shooter with decent graphics, fairly interesting story, & hell of a lot of fun to play through doesn't deserve a 3.5. I score it a 6.5 just because the campaign was enjoyable & wasn't really all that short or nothing. For the price you can find this game its definitely worth it. I picked it up for $20.00 and played it off and on for nearly 2 weeks & was entertained all the way through. I heard in one review it saying that the best weapon in the game was the axe, what the hell can these guys just no shoot or something because I hardly ever used the axe. It was either the shotgun or heavy machine gun for me, not sure where they came up with that garbage.

I'll just call it MP3 for the review. MP3 Corruption is a definite step forward for the Prime series, although it is the last. Alot has changed, I'll start by telling you about the good things of MP3. Since it is the only Prime game available for the Wii, it is unique from the others in many ways. One way is the targeting system, which only rotates you around the target instead of pointing your riticule at it. another way is the way you look around and move at the same time, your right arm will actually move instead of your arm not moving at all and just your whole body. The graphics are absolutely incredible, especially on larger-sized TV's, definitely comparable to the other 2 Prime games. MP3 is generally easier than the other 2 were, it may take a while to get used to the new control scheme though. The only bad thing I mean to tell about MP3 is the simple fact that it sometimes goes too far away from the original ideas that were presented in the previous ones. I would highly recommend this game to anyone to has a Nintendo Wii and liked the previous Metroid Prime games.

Ill just call it TV party for the review. TV party presents many new ideas and also uses many of the concepts from the previous games. many of the minigames in TV party were taken from the other two games. The humor comes more from the sometimes mindless Rabbids, and the strange things that they do. The main concept of TV party is the Rabbids broadcasting on TV, in many cases trying parodies of what humans would do, but the Rabbids, in their stupidity, dont do it right, which makes for some strange results. In RRR 2, the "Rabbid band" game was used, and it returns here with many different things. Lefty mode is inplimented, which is great 'cuz im left-handed =D. There are pretty strange songs, and instruments, and many different places to perform. The graphics are just like the other two were. If you have played the other two games, you will probably like the third game as well. As I said in my RRR 2 review, I think the Rayman Raving Rabbids series are the best third-party games available for the Wii so far. I totally disagree with the GS rating.

Zoo Tycoon 1 DS is fantastic!!

I only started playing it yesterday and I already love it, but I am not sure whether that is because I am kind of fond of animals??

The GOOD:
*You can save your work and don't need to worry about losing it.
*You can start again if needed.
*There are many animals to choose from.
*There are many different fences and shelters to choose from.
*There are different levels from tutorial to very advanced.
*The tutorials make it easier for you to know how to run things.
*You start off with a certain amount of money to start you off.
*When you insert an object or animal, a little face will show you if it's happy or not.

The BAD:
*Not all animals, fences, shelters, staff employers are available from the start.
*It sometimes dose not let you know why an animal is unhappy.

Overall, I would definitely get it. I'm looking forward to my birthday to get Zoo Tycoon 2 DS, to see what that is like.

Metroid Prime is brilliant, a masterpiece. I'll just call it "Prime" for this review. Like I said before, Prime advance on all fonts, all of the parts of the 2-D games were made better in this game, in which I shall explain further on. For one reason, Prime advances on graphics greatly. Prime's graphics are incredible, by far the best looking Gamecube game that has been released. Ohh, and the environments are hostile, but look great. There is something like a story in Prime, but in my opinion, Prime doesn't exactly need a good story anyway. The HUD is pretty good, mainly because your looking through the Heroine Samus helmet, which shows your ammo and everything else you have. The gameplay is excellent, you could spend hours exploring the regions of Tallon IV. One of the things that I don't like in the game is part of the controls. The automatic lock on feature can be annoying at times when you move around certain ways, and should be fixed. the targeting riticule is hard to control at times, which could also be a problem. Overall, Prime is an absolutely incredible experience. The stellar graphics, the story? The environments, and all of the other good elements make Metroid Prime a recomendation.

The previous game, Rapala Tournament Fishing, was the best fishing game ever created. I loved it & if it wasn't for the broken achievements in that game then I would state it as near flawless. So with such a great showing in that game I had been looking forward to this one ever since I first heard of it being created. However, I find myself wondering that same question I & many other gamers ask themselves when a sequel releases like this one. Why change what worked so well before??? Most of the great aspects of the original have been removed, basically what happened is they just flat out half assed this game. The only really good part of Rapala Fishing Frenzy is the beautiful graphics, but the constant timed button sequences when trying to reel in a fish are just a pain, the lay out of the tournaments are just way too basic, & the achievements are incredibly too easy. So once again a potential great sequel has been completely dismantled & released broken & unfinished which has an ending result of lack of sales & lack of profit to which really makes that question mean that much more, WHY CHANGE WHAT WORKED SO WELL BEFORE??? Rapala Fishing Frenzy isn't worth a purchase, don't waste your money as I did, pick this game up as a rental or don't pick it up at all.

Anyways, Mercenaries 2 is here & we all had high hopes for this game ever since playing the original. I'm a little ways through the game & so far I can say this game has met most of my expectations. Its not top-notch, a few things could have been done better, but its a solid game thats basically just a blast to play. I've never been good with words, but how about YES MERCENARIES 2 IS WORTHY!!! Don't bother getting into all the details with the fun factor maxed out Mercenaries 2 is just the right game to kick the doors down and start blasting into our long wish lists for the end of the year. Paper Mario and the Thousand Year Door is a masterpiece, nothing less. Everything in the game is pretty much perfect; the audio is great with some of the original songs put into it, the controls fit almost flawlessly, the boss battles are exiting and very entertaining, the story is very deep and funny, the environments are cool and very interactive, the items are new are helpful, the party members are awesome and all have a special ability that helps you with the puzzles in the game, the puzzles are challenging but very fresh and usually have a clever solution, the gameplay is very creative, and the graphics are the best part; namely because the "paper" mechanic works flawlessly with the game. Overall, Paper Mario and the Thousand Year Door is an excellent experience that should not be missed if you own a Nintendo Gamecube or a Wii and have Gamecube controller handy. In my opinion, Paper Mario and the Thousand Year Door is much better than the other 2 Paper Mario games were. The characters, the battles, the enemies, the map, the environments, the paper mechanics, the story, the crystal stars, the Thousand Year door itself, the controls, and the badges are all elements that make this a great game. Some of the only things that I really fault the game for is the difficulty, you sometimes need to use a power-up that you have found to get from place to place, but if you dont have it, you will have to find it. Sounds pretty easy, doesn't it? It isn't. The puzzles that are presented are very elaborate, which makes it difficult to solve them. Sometimes you may just want to explore the map just to see what you can find. Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door is, in my opinion, truly worth recommending.

Worms 4 :Mayhem is a great game on all fonts; the graphics are solid "3-D" and look great, the audio experience fits greatly, and the playability is pretty good. It is similar to the other two 3-D games, but with new features, such as being able to create your own team, Weapon, and game style. The story mode is very deep (long), and there is plenty of things to do in the game such as network play, were you can play agianst people from around the world, challenges, and a cool multiplayer mode. Overall, Worms 4:Mayhem is underapreciatted game with plenty of things to keep you busy. I strongly disagree with the GS review. Like I said before, Worms 4 is possibly the best strategy game around, I gave it a 10/10 because I cannot think of any flaws in the game at all. Unlike the other 2 games were like. anybody who likes strategy games will highly enjoy Worms 4:Mayhem.

I do not know why, but RRR2 is a much better game than people say. sure, it is just my opinion, but it is a great multiplayer game, better than the single player "trips" are. It can only be appreciatted with a crowd instead of just playing alone. The summary is that the Rabbids are trying for global domination, and rayman is the only one that can stop them and tries to. The art style is great and very funny, especially in the shooting games. The graphics alone look good(for the Wii.)What I think that changed the most was the gameplay, it is way different than the first, but it is still funny and highly entertaining. The new features are really cool. Such as the customizeable rabbids, the trips, and the new but easier minigames.
Overall, RRR2 is worth buying, I think it is one of the best third party games for the Wii, and especially if you are looking for a funny and good multiplayer game. and I strongly disagree with the GS review. Is much better than the original was.

Picto chat isn't a game!, but is a great way to communicate with others that are on the Nintendo DS. It's very easy (most people shouldn't need instructions on how to use it).

Below I have written the good and the bad stuff about Picto chat:

THE GOOD:
*You don't need to buy Picto chat (it comes built in with your Nintendo DS).
*You can use the keyboard shown on the screen OR use the stylus to draw and write.
*You can drag little pictures (e.g. stars, love hearts, shapes) on to your screen.
*You can use someone elses message to write and draw on.

THE BAD:
*The writing and drawings are in black and white.
*There isn't much space to use.
*The keyboard is small (you can easily press the wrong letter / shape).
*Remember it's not an email kind of thing, so someone else has to been in the exact same room and at the same time.
*It lets you swear (so some people might get offended).
*When you send a message it goes to everyone in the same room (not just one person of your choice.)

Overall, Picto chat is a great communicating system to use while your on the Nintendo DS. Yes, I know I rated it 7.0 and I have more bad than good, but really, I like to be able to chat.

Mario and Sonic at the Olympic Games is great! I just can't wait until I can get my hands on the Nintendo DS because I'm on ''Mario and Sonic at the Olympic Games'' although I would rather play ''Mario Kart DS.''

THE GOOD:
*There are plenty of different Olympic sports to play (e.g. track events, swimming, shooting, Dream events, fencing, etc.)
*There are many characters from ''Mario'' games and the ''Sonic'" games
*It gets you sucked into the game once you've started
*The game is able to played as multiplayer
*Mario and Sonic at the Olympic Games is available on Nintendo DS and Nintendo Wii
*You can have up to three different users

THE NOT SO GOOD:
*The graphics aren't the best
*The instructions aren't very clear
*Some sports are tricky to play
*Some sports aren't worth playing

Overall 'Mario and Sonic at the Olympic Games' has the thumbs up from me although I think you should borrow it from a friend before you go out and buy it just in case you don't like it.

Tue, 05 Aug 2008 06:01:39 -0700 wackys reviewed World in Conflict for the PC... http://www.gamespot.com/world-in-conflict/user-reviews/596736/platform/pc/ ...and gave it a 10.0!!!

World in Conflict is wrongly classified as an RTS when it is an RTT (real time tactics) just like it's grand-father the Ground Control series. After that bit of informing done let's get on to the review.

+es:Great storyline that really gives motivation to your actions, fantastic and diverse multiplayer classes, intense action,single-player campaign has a real personal feeling of sorts, medals and ranks that give a reason to play this game a lot, fantastic graphics,if you go on ground level near your troops you can hear them talk and that is a very cool detail,no base-building,dropping a nuke feels 100% awesome and it looks fantastic.

-es:10 hour campaign, the cut scenes in missions have somewhat bad textures

Graphics. What more is there to say about them? The game has great vehicle textures and the buildings and infantry look great as well.Dropping a few nukes then seeing the sky get darker really looks good. The nuke effect is fantastic. All of the TA effects look really epic.

Gameplay. The game has a simple resource mechanic. You have a limited number of reinforcement points. When you call in troops you spend the amount of resource points the troop requires and if the unit is killed the resource cost will slowly come back to you.

The game also has some special powers called Tactical Aid or TA which allow you call in air strikes, artillery barrages including a tactical nuke.To call those powers in you need TA points which you get for mostly every action you do (hitting an enemy, capturing a perimeter, fortifying, repairing etc etc). These powers can definitely turn the tide of a battle if used right.

The game has 3 factions USSR NATO and US.They are virtually the same only with different skins on them. There are a couple of exceptions but that mostly the difference (the skins).

World in Conflict has 3 game modes. One is called Domination and it's the most played mode right now.It consists of several points (perimeter points) spread across the map that you need to capture to dominate your opponent. If you can hold all of the perimeter points that you initiate Total Domination in which you dominate your opponent much faster.

The second mode is called Assault. It consists of one team defending and one team attacking perimeter points. The defending team must hold the attackers back and not let them capture the current perimeter point. The attackers must capture the perimeter point and if they succeed then they move on to the next point they must capture and the defenders to defend.

The third (and final) mode is Tug of War in which at the start there is a frontline for which the teams battle to take control. The team that manages to get that frontline moves on to the next one to capture that as well whilst the other team tries to take back the frontlines again.

These are the game modes of world in conflict and they are great fun.

In the campaign you play as Lieutenant Parker and you must hold back the soviet invasion. There are about 14 missions with varied objectives and each commander you play with (AI) have a different story which you will hear between missions. It's really great and the campaign has a personal feeling of revenge.

Sounds. The sounds are really good.I mean the shell of a heavy tank as it hits a light tank destroying it in the process really sounds powerful and the fact that if you zoom in next to your units you can hear their comments or battle tactics is a really great detail I have never seen. The music is up to the task of total war as well but sometimes the music cuts out so that's sad but not much of a biggie as it starts right up again.

Replay value. The SP campaign has mostly no replay value but you can play it at difficulty ratings to see how tough it gets. The multiplayer has long lasting value because of the medals and badges you ca get and also the ranks. It really feels good to progress through the ranks from a private to a general.

Closing comments.World In Conflict is a fantastic RTT which really shines in Single-play and ,most importantly, in multiplayer. It could also be just a multiplayer game if Massive wanted it and it would do just as well.

Tue, 05 Aug 2008 04:31:01 -0700 wackys reviewed The Witcher for the PC... http://www.gamespot.com/the-witcher/user-reviews/596716/platform/pc/ ...and gave it a 9.5!

+es:Fantastic story, great combat, great alchemy system that encourages experimentation ,fantastic but somewhat cheesy voice-acting,
long single-player quest (40 hours),an artistic direction which is very believable, good technical graphics, many side-quests,active combat.

-es:Repetitive character models and clothing (that is supposed to be fixed in the Enhanced Edition),repetitive character dialog gesticulations (which will also be fixed),somewhat cliffhanger ending in where one main question remains to be answered, shortage of armors, repetitive music, the inventory system, long load times

I will start with the graphics. The artistic direction is extremely good and very believable. It's sort of medieval style.
Some things in the game are inspired by Slavic mythology (like monster names character names as well). The technical side
is also very good and it just looks like it fits with the artistic direction.it overlaps with it and the tech side makes the artistic side shine and the artistic side makes the tech side shine as well. The character models are textured very good especially the textures of Geralt. The faces of the characters have been built with much care and consideration.Overall
these elements give it a fantastic visual presentation.

Gameplay. You can level up and when you level up you get talents. Most of these talents are passive with the exception of a few skills.
Some people dislike that fact that it has more passive skills that active ones.I for one love that fact.I hate having 10 skills
in my hotbar and having to chose a skill to use every second.

There is "magic" in the game in the form of signs. There are 5 signs which I used only the first 2 you get.Aard which is sort of a
force push and Igni which deals burn damage to your enemies. There are other signs as well.Quen which creates a shield in which you can
drink potions in safety,Axii which frightens your enemies and stuff like that, and Yrden which is supposed to be a trap of some kind.
These sings are a pleasant diversion from the main sword fighting and in some cases they are very use full especially Aard and Igni

There is also a very interesting Alchemy system in the game which allows you to make Potions,Bombs and Oil coatings. The game encourages
you to invent new potions or bombs or coatings by promising that it has secret formulas. Now I tried experimenting with them but only got
failed ones and I would advise to try not to use them because you will get poisoned by potions the bombs will do nothing and the coatings will reduce damage

The game mechanics are like this. The combat is divided into 2 groups. The first group is the Steel group which is to fight humans and it has 3 classes.
Strong which is used to fight strong human opponents fast which is used for small and fast human opponents and group for a combination of the 2.
All three can be upgraded with talents that increase damage and other effects as well (like knockdown, bleeding, pain etc).
The other group is essentially the same only the main blade is made of silver and is intended for monsters. It has the 3 styles (strong, fast, group)
and they can also be upgraded increasing damage and other effects.

The combat is active and you click your enemy when the sword(cursor) turns red to chain attacks. It's rather active and not at all boring.

The damage is dealt randomly from you talents. If the talent says you deal 30-60 damage you will deal damage somewhere around that spectrum.
There are also damage amplifiers in the game (on swords or temporary runes)

There is also a system to upgrade your weapons with Blue red or yellow meteorite for the steel sword and other 3 runes for the
silver sword but once you get better weapons you won't need to reforge them.

Also the inventory is really crowded and you can't store weapons in it.You will always have a bunch of alchemical stuff alcohol for potions
and other stuff and it will get filled really quickly.

It also has a bunch of mature stuff in it (like sex but don't think hot-coffe like) loads of blood and mature themes (like drugs and alcohol)

Story. The story is excellent with a great number of choices through-out the game.I can't really tell much about the story cause I will spoil some of it
and I really don't want to spoil the experience.I will tell that your character is named Geralt and he is a witcher with amnesia and a bunch a other
witchers find him and bring him in the Witcher fortress (Kaer Morhen).

Sound. The voice acting is great but somewhat cheesy in places and a few strange dialog lines. The sound battles are good and
Geralt's war cries when you reach the final attack sound good. The music is also great but repetitive.Especially the battle
music. There are only like 2-3 battle music things.

Replay Value:Because you can chose 3 main paths in the game the game is worth at LEAST 2 playthroughs. Also that is amplified
by the character builds you can make (like sign-intensive or combat-intensive etc etc).

Closing Comments. The Witcher is an exceptional blend of what makes an RPG and is extremely worthy of your time. There are some annoying issues but they can be easily over-looked because of the story and gameplay.

Fri, 25 Jul 2008 21:50:38 -0700 DSfreak789 reviewed Mario Kart DS for the DS... http://www.gamespot.com/mario-kart-ds/user-reviews/593972/platform/ds/ ...and gave it a 9.5!

As soon as I got the game I couldn't wait so I got out my Nintendo DS, turned it on and got stuck right into it and boy was I surprised. Mario Kart DS is one of the best Nintendo DS game so far! I could never get bored of it!

THE GOOD
*Different levels to fit your standard
*Solid graphics for the Nintendo DS
*Wide range of race courses and challenges (Missions, Time Trials and Battle Tracks)
*Contains Wi-Fi connection
*Multiplayer - up to 8 players at a time
*Lots of different characters and Karts
*Controls are easy to use
*Great obstacles

THE BAD
*Download play only has limited levels
*Ends too quick (but don't all Mario Karts?)
*It is too easy to win on 50 class races

Overall the Mario Kart DS is a great game for a wide range of ages. I am pretty sure you'll agree with my review. No money wasted guarantee!

Sat, 12 Jul 2008 01:19:10 -0700 Sephiroth228 reviewed Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots for the PlayStation 3... http://www.gamespot.com/metal-gear-solid-4-guns-of-the-patriots/user-reviews/590410/platform/ps3/ ...and gave it a 10.0!!!

I don't even know where to start with this game, but I'll try anyway, so bear with me. Metal Gear Solid 4 is, in short, the best console game that I have ever played. I used to tout Final Fantasy 7 as having this title, but after having completed this game, I'd have to disagree with myself.

Every single factor about this game, the gameplay, storyline, graphics, depth, etc. all so perfectly fleshed out, that I have trouble playing any other console game because they simply aren't even half as good as this.

This game makes you feel like you're right in the center of the battlefield. It's very similar to that feeling that the Call of Duty series gives you, but it's done much better. Even without vibration, I had to look around the room I was sitting in to realize that I was not actually Snake...It's just that realistic. The graphics, sound, and epic scale of battle suck you into the game and make you feel like you have a real impact on the battlefield, and you do. Everything you do influences how a battle will turn out.

Do you want to simply spend big bucks on a rocket launcher and blow up a tank, or do you want to blend in with your surroundings and sneak right past hundreds of enemy soldiers to get by, or perhaps you should commandeer the nearby mortar and destroy giant groups of enemies. You could stay back and snipe plenty of them, hide behind cover and take them out "Gears of War" style, or beat the crap out of them using the extremely in-depth hand-to-hand combat system. These are only about one fourth of the things you could do out on the battlefield to get where you want to go, making MGS4 one of the most freedom-based games ever. You can tackle any situation however you want to.

The storyline is extremely satisfying. All questions left unanswered from previous games are answered here. Some of the cutscenes literally made me laugh, some made me pissed off, and some almost made me cry. They're just that awesome. Imagine watching the most awesome movie you've ever seen, and then controlling what happens in that movie.

The way that gameplay seamlessly shifts into cutscenes with no loading times, and then back again, is a great way of allowing the story to be told while still keeping you on your toes. Personally, I became so obsessed with knowing what would happen next that I played for 9 hours straight at one point, and wasn't the least bit tired of playing afterwards. No console game has ever kept my attention for this long, and after beating it, I immediately started playing again on the max difficulty setting. You won't get tired of this game, making its replay value extremely high.

Without even talking about Metal Gear Online, because I'd have to write for a much longer time about how good it is, I have to say that you will not find a better console game than this. It is really the best console game I have ever played, and arguably the best console game ever made. If you have a ps3, but don't have this game, buy this game now. You will not regret it.

Fri, 04 Jul 2008 05:22:27 -0700 shawn7324 reviewed NASCAR 09 for the Xbox 360... http://www.gamespot.com/nascar-09/user-reviews/588056/platform/xbox360/ ...and gave it a 4.0.

Nascar 09 is a great improvement from last year for the most part. Its hard to really elaborate on its positives because one major flaw holds it all down. The game has been released with the worst freezing problems I've seen to date on any video game. Not long into the game at the beginning when you go to load up your profile the game will lock up your entire console. No matter what you do, how many times you try, what console its on, it will continue to do the same thing. All you can do is delete everything you had accomplished up to that point and start over, but you most likely won't even make it as far as you was before it happens again. I can't believe Gamespot didn't mention this in their review, as a full month has almost gone by since the release of this game and EA has yet to own up about the issue and announce that they are working on a solution. So BEWARE, don't buy this game until if ever EA releases a patch to solve this problem. You don't want to pay $60.00 for a game you can't play.
