I'm bad at reviewing games, mostly because i am lazy but inFamous is one of the best games i've ever played. Its one of the only games i've played on the PS3 that i find extremely fun. Now days games are all about story and graphics. Which is awesome but it only goes so far in my opinion. IMO these games often lack the super fun gameplay that was present on past systems. I also like that this is more of a modern, gritty super hero tale and not a reboot of some old super hero. Cole is a cool character who says and does what he wants. The game has cool powers, missions, and stories. Cole's voice is cool too. Makes me wish i was a gritty super hero :) I like that you can be a good or a bad super hero. I played both, both rocked. Plenty of powers. Plenty of fun. I am playing inFamous 2 now and i will be reviewing it soon. 9/5

This game is by far the best guitar hero game I have ever played, Due to the HUGE set list already on the game that makes it the best not to mention that it has a campaign which is VERY unique, and I love the fact that there were disc imports from some of the best previous guitar hero games... and THIS guitar hero brought back a more difficult factor to the entire game, you actually have to try a little harder, and I just can't stop playing it. The power challenges is my favorite part, so different than any other guitar hero game out there. and yet ANOTHER new guitar controller. One thing I love and always will remember with guitar hero there are always lots of new features, add-ons and new accessories with their games, and a new ranking system, where you get stars instead of money to help you rank up... and the more songs you get, the more instruments you play, the more challenges you complete are ALL factors that you must accomplish if you want to move up ranks, and I love it ALL THANK YOU ACTIVISION

Mon, 14 Mar 2011 21:51:24 -0700 nightshade869 reviewed Killzone 3 for the PlayStation 3... http://www.gamespot.com/killzone-3/user-reviews/758515/platform/ps3/ ...and gave it a 9.5!

Let me start off by saying that this game is a blast to play. It is the best Sci-fi FPS on the market and is just plain fun to play. From being stock full of features with co-op, move support, 3D, online multiplayer with diverse maps and game modes, and an action packed single player campaign; you can't go wrong with this title.

Graphics: It's Killzone 3 people....this should answer itself 10/10

Sound: The sound in the game is fantastic. From grenades going off behind you and bullets flying by your head, you will hear every sound in the Killzone universe. I should mention I have played in 5.1 so I don't know how plain TV speakers would sound.

Controls: I love the feel of Killzone. When you play you actually feel like your character has mass and interacts with the world. You can feel each step. Movement doesn't feel cheap like in arcade shooters such as COD where you glide everywhere. Aiming is also very well done with options to allow customization and fine-tuning for each individual player.

Move Support: I played the entire single player with the Move and the sharpshooter. It is the most fun I have ever had with a FPS before. It took about 45 minutes to get the calibration settings to where I liked them, but the accuracy is amazing.

Single Player: I honestly don't see why this has been knocked by so many reviewers. I thought it was one of the better done FPS stories I have played in a very long time. It isn't a masterpiece but it doesn't detract at all from the game and the voice acting is very well done. I am glad that the cut scenes were added. It made me feel like I was part of something larger than just shooting stuff like in Gears, COD, and Killzone 2. I also want to note that you will see many stunning diverse environments from Helghan cities to forests to arctic wastelands. There is so much detail that you find yourself stopping just to look around.

Multiplayer: Killzone multiplayer isn't for everyone, which you will know if you ever tried K2. If you are in love with COD arcade type play you may not adjust very quickly to Killzone gameplay. It requires teamwork and communication to win. There is no personal goals to get the best K:D ratio, each round is a team effort and if you don't play as a team you will lose. There are 3 main game modes: Warzone, Guerilla Warfare, and Operations.
Warzone allows you to play a variety of game modes so that objectives are constantly changing and it never gets boring. Each mode adds to a counter of wins and losses and you play the best out of 7 I believe.
GW: basic team deathmatch
Operations: is a team based objective game where one team defends and another team attacks and tries to push the enemy back. This mode has cool cutscenes in it that places the best players from each team in them.

New Mechs: In single player and multiplayer you will find new vehicles. We have jet packs and walking mech machines in online play. In single player we have both of these along with tanks and other road/ice vehicles.

Overall this game is a great value for 60 dollars and I highly recommend it if you like shooters. It truly brings the feeling of war to the living room unlike other games on the market.

First of all i must say that I never played the N64,so this is the review just for this game not a comparison between this and the n64 version.

Now back te review
in the beginning i must say i really enjoy this game, the campaign was just fantastic ,it makes you fell like you are the center of the game it makes you fell like a real 007 ,just you, your silenced gun ,a lot of bullets, explosions helicopters ,a lot of enemy's crazy futuristic gadget and a beautiful girl....do you need more ?!Like:
a great story with a nice twist or all kind of cinematic scenes ,ok this game have all this.

The graphics is great i liked very much the jungle mission ,some times is a little dark but you can always modify the brightness in the settings menu.so i give it a 9.5/10
The story is awesome ,like a real 007 movie. This game has all the things you can aspect from a 007 movie. In a particular mission you drive even a tank ;)
so 10/0
Even the game play is awesome, i recommend using the wiiremote an the nuchuck (or the wiizaper if you have one) it makes the gameplay more real ,the game has different type of commands, some time you must pres A or B or shake the nunchuck and the wiiremote, for example for an meele attack you shake the wiiremote ,but it has something that i didnt really liked ,if you point your weapon on the enemy and zoom it,the gun is automatically centered on the nearest enemy, you can try to change the settings to the advanced level but nothing will change so a 9.0/10
The sound its just great a 10/10 no more comments
The multi-player n/a im not interested in multi-player soo....

in overall its a great game ,with great story ,great graphics, sound and game-play ,it has some slight problems but nothing that will make you say :it isn't a great game

P.S i finish the game in fast and furious but if you have some time
in difficulties select the 007 classics it make the game longer on more real, because otherwise the health will auto-regenerate,
and the campaign becomes longer with additional objectives

Sat, 16 Oct 2010 13:00:10 -0700 Realacide reviewed Sonic the Hedgehog 4: Episode I for the PlayStation 3... http://www.gamespot.com/sonic-the-hedgehog-4-episode-1/user-reviews/741027/platform/ps3/ ...and gave it a 8.5.

Sonic the Hedgehog 4 is the newest installment to the main Sonic the Hedgehog storyline. Now you may have heard many wonderful and horrible things about this game and there is some truth to both sides of these arguments.

Gameplay:
From the start you'll notice (if your used to the originals that is) that Sonic seems a bit sluggish while moving around, but this shouldn't have any affect on the how the game is played.Your still moving pretty fast and after a while you get use to his speed. Something new added to the 2d repertoire is the Homing Attack. This new move can really screw you over at times, it feels uncomfortable at first but like Sonic's speed you should be able to adapt to it and begin to us it to you advantage. The physics have changed, but thats only to aid in the platforming, the physics from the originals would make the platforming in this game hell. In later levels enemies and boss become a lot tougher.Badniks will seem to come out of nowhere or just be in area that will cause you to hit them and loses all your rings. Bosses get harder as well, you may die a number and get frustrated. You'll need patience and strategy and you will succeed.

Graphics/Art Style:
Sonic 4 looks great, the colors and design of the levels are great. I like how they have taken advantage of the current consoles power and made dynamic foreground and backgrounds for the levels. The levels themselves are very reminiscent of levels from the past, Splash Hill is similar to Green or Emerald Hill, Casino Street is Casino Night, Lost Labyrinth is Labyrinth Zone. The music isn't as good as the tunes from the originals but are still catchy and fits the game.

Sonic 4 while not being a exact replica of the originals still stays true to 2d side scrolling platforming. Anyone should be able to casually pick up and play this game and have fun as well as take the controller and rush through the levels as fast as possible for a challenge. For anyone looking to buy this game I ask you to stop trying to find and point out its flaws and look for and embrace what this game is, fun. 8.5/10

Pure genius is the best way I can describe this game. Both single player and multiplayer offer an amazing experience with jaw dropping visuals and sound effects. Follow Nathan Drake and his companions of allies and enemies through a heart tearing and twisting adventure. There is no honor among thieves in this game, but there is conflict, plot twists, and adrenaline rushes.

Gameplay: Fantastic control scheme with fluid animations. You feel like you have complete control of your character with the 3rd person view. Hit detection is spot on and enemy AI is very good. The camera is great in this game and you have complete freedom in exploration in this "linear game."

Graphics: Best on the PS3 in 2009 and still in the top 3 in my book. The only game to top it as of the time I am writing this is GOW3 in my opinion.

Sound: The best I have experienced in a video game....ever.

Story: Amazing, enough said. I want to avoid spoilers. Just trust me.

Multiplayer: Naughty Dog has stayed committed to supporting its online community of roughly 60-100k daily players. They have done countless updates to perfect the online experience and they have also delivered in the DLC arena in terms of new content. There are a variety of co-op and competitive game modes that will keep you entertained for hours.

Final opinion....GO BUY THIS GAME! With the GOTY edition out there is no excuse to not own this game as PS3 owner period.

All I can say is wow. This game is packed with so much content I don't think I can cover it all in this review. From storyline, to gameplay, to graphics...this handheld game is one of the best, not only in the MGS series, but also this generation on the PSP. The game features fantastic co-op and single player options which you can run beside friends or through Sony's Ad Hoc Party App found on the PSN on the PS3. I played through the entire campaign with the Ad Hoc Party and I never once experienced lag and was able to communicate with my friend with my bluetooth headset.

I can honestly think of no negative qualities to this game. Once you are done with the long campaign there are numerous extra ops to attempt that are a blast. You can also continue to build your homebase and recruit new and more powerful allies to your cause. Each character is well developed and you actually care about what happens to them. I recommend this game with absolutely no reserves. A perfect 10/10 in my book and a fantastic Metal Gear experience through the eyes of the famous Big Boss thanks to the genius of Hideo Kojima.

I do not recommend paying more than $20 for this game. That is what I paid to get it new and I consider it a great purchase, but any more than that and you risk getting ripped off. PoP: TFS really is only good for 1 playthrough (easy platinum in one run), but you could squeeze two out of it if you missed any trophies or just want to relive the story.

Gameplay: It is a blast. You get great powers and abilities as the game goes on and some of the sequences that require timing and precision are a blast. The combat is ridiculously easy though, and this may frustrate you. Enemy AI isn't bad, they just are too slow and don't attack often enough to make the game a challenge.

Story and Characters: An okay story overall, not bad, but lacking depth. The characters are well developed and you get a good sense of who they are.

Graphics: I have seen better, but they are solid overall and do not disappoint.

Sound: Great 5.1 sound, but it won't compare to experiences you get with Bad Company 2, Uncharted 2, GOW 3, or MoH sound.

Length: Under 10 hrs.

It is your decision to get this game, but I do recommend it if you can find it for a cheap price. I am not a PoP fan, but I did enjoy this game much more than the PoP released earlier this generation.

Sun, 08 Aug 2010 13:02:45 -0700 TheTrueMagusX1 reviewed Star Ocean: Second Evolution for the PSP... http://www.gamespot.com/star-ocean-second-evolution/user-reviews/732376/platform/psp/ ...and gave it a 9.5!

Over eleven years ago, the Summer of 1999 to be exact, I spent the summer highly awaiting the upcoming Fall release of Final Fantasy VIII. As the summer began, I found two wonderful rpgs that to this day remain wonderful classics. One was the wonderful remake of Lunar: Silver Star Story, and the other was Star Ocean: The Second Story.

To say it lightly Star Ocean the Second Story was mine and many others first exposure to the wonderful Star Ocean Series. The game remains one of my favorite Playstation RPGs, but to be honest, the game suffered from a few minor issues. These included poor voice work, and an equally poor translation. But none the less the adventures of Claude C Kenny, Rena Lanford, Dias Flac, and the rest of the wonderful and quirky cast captivated me.

A decade later, and about nine years after the original release a remake of the original Star Ocean releases, and a couple months later, only about six or seven months of its ten year anniversary an enhanced port of Star Ocean the Second Story releases and man is it a fantastic port that makes me just fall in love with this wonderful game.

What made the game stand out in the first place is its high replay value. You can play as either Claude or Rena, and each one has different set of events you can play through and even different characters you can recruit. As far as characters you can recruit, you cannot recruit them all in the game, you can only recruit some of them. And you have to do a certain set of actions to recruit them, and then if you need to, replay the games and see the events you did not see.

Another mechanic that added to the games great replay value was the amazing Private action feature. And to me this game utilized the private action feature the best compare to the rest of the series. Why? Well it allowed private actions with all the characters, and even the ones that you did not get. So that was even more consent to replay the games and collect those characters you did not in your first play through.

Now what these private actions did was you can go back to towns and activate events that are not part of the main story. What these events did was build up the relationship between the main character and his party mates. Which also meant that while Say Claude and Rena are the main characters, through private actions, they may not be the ones who get romantically involved. This also resulted in over 80 different epilogue endings that showed what the characters did with their lives after the events of the game. So two characters can be together at the end of the game. Let us not effect that private actions also effect combat. If two characters feel strongly for each other, and one of them will lose their temper and go crazy in battle. It adds a crazy unpredictable at times element in combat. One that adds depth to combat.

The combat is one of the games biggest strength. Now it is similiar, but not the same as it is in the Tales Series(Both series were created by the same developers, though Tri Ace only worked on the original tales game, and that is Tales of Fantasia.) Like the tales series, the combat system in this game utilzes both turn base and real time combat elements. In turn this leads a number of options on the way you can handle combat. You will control one character, most of the time your main character. Though you can switch this, and with that characters you can use your attacks in real time, or even go turn based to use items or other spells that you donot readily available. Also you can set your other characters to certain AI settings and giving them to do certain tasks, i.e have Rena as a healer, or Celes as a Offensive Magic user. You can also if you are not satisfied with a characters current move, you can also go in and turn base wise select their action. This battle system is flexible in the way you want to play it or the way the situation handles. That for me when a battle system presents itself in such a cognitive way, makes for a battle system. Of course there are standard elements in the system, such as elemental weaknesses and such, but the way the battle system is presented and set up it is excellent.

The Music again is another highlight of this game. Let me go on record and say that Motoi Sakuraba is one of the most overlooked game composers out there along with the Masterful Yasunori Mitsuda. Sakuraba's musical range in fascinating such as his world map themes that convey the feelings of going into the open world, to the fast and frenetic battle theme that gives the feeling of tension, and haunting tones for the forests and the tragic events that sometime convey in the game.

There is also the formidable skills sytem, which allows your character to build not only battle skills, but every day creative skills. You can teach Rena to be a great chef, and cook your party food to heal them, and have Claude by an artist to sell his artwork and make extra cash. It adds a nice side dynamic to the game, and is really a fun system to play with.

Now I talked about the basic elements of the game that applies to both ports, now lets talk about why this port is so special.

For one the localization is far better then it was. The original PSX port suffered from a poor script that at times had engrish intergrated from it. The PSP port presents and a solid and flawless script, with of course some cheesey moments, but despite that it is far more readable and enjoyable to hear. It helps makes one care for this great case of characters all over again, and get a better understanding of their motivations and personalities then the original script allowed you to do.

The voice work also is fixed. Now while voice work was minimal at best in the original PSX port, aside from battle, it was quite awful to say the least. Voice acting in this port though is more of a presence in the game, and it is well done. Claude performance particularly surprised me, as that he is voiced by Spike Spencer the english voice actor for the troubled Shinji Ikari in Neon Genesis Evangelion. What makes this performance out standing is that Claude is the total opposite of Shinji, a character who while has issues, has a sometime too optimistic out look on life, and is quite laid back at times. This shows Spencers voice acting range as he handles this character quite well. The rest of the voice cast is great, and each actor brings in their own touch to these great characters. Though I did have some issues with some of the very minor characters, as they sounded a little stiff, its not a big deal, the main cast for the most part is handled excellently.

The game also brings in a few other extra including a more streamlined menu then the original, which was admittedly clunky in the original PSX port imo. There is also two very cool anime intros, that bring the several scenes from the game to life in anime form, and are accompanied by the spunky and optimistic Jpop song Start by Jpop group scandal. Also note some of the ingame cutscenes are redone, where as other cutscenes remain the same from the PSX Version.

Overall this is a fantastic edition to any rpg fans collection. This game already had a great story line, with a quirky and fun cast of characters. If you missed this the first time, and mind you it is a rare game to find these days on the PSX, this new port is the definitive version of the game. Like to me the Chrono Trigger DS port is the defintive version, this port is the best. Now there is some slow down issues in combat here and there, to me that is the only flaw with this port that fixes many if not all of the major issues of the original game. Track it down if you missed out and you will not regret it.

pes 2010,its a great game ,with a lot of players, great graphics and awesome gameplay, and totally awesome controller.............or not
maybeeeeee not!
yes its true ,pse 10 has some amazing graphics maybe better than fifa 10 ,but its controller ,hèèèèèèèèèm ,the controller just dont work, its simple like that, you can type the x ( button for the short pass) you must wait like 1.5-2 sek for the player to pass, maybe its a short amount of time but in 1.5-2 sek you have been tackled like 3 times from behind ,and you may say that 3 tackles = 3 yellow cards ,hèèèèèèèèèèèm maybe not,i mean ......you can break an player leg but hey its normal just go forward (especially on champions legue mode),and if you are a fun of byern ,forget it on pes10,
back to the controller ,its just to unresponsive,L2 its like a rock, you must type it 6 time for change the player you want,
and the A.I,oh man,
the goal keeper is like is a 5 years child, they make mistakes like child,( its so easy to make goal to barcha)
the defenders are out, even if you are like 1-0 for you (so you are wining) and its the 89 min and the com has a corner, the defenders keep ther position !!!!
pes has a llot of bad things the only 10 its the graphics, its just awesome ,you can even see the arms hair

i think that pes 10 its great game but need some modification
i give it a 7 only because im a hugeeeeeeeeee fun of pes (in reality would be an 5),but hope to see a better pes next year ,for the sake of the funs

Now I know that there are a lot of reviews for this game since it came out a while ago, but I just beat it over my spring break and it wouldn't feel right not to honor this piece of art with words of gratitude. This is the first game I have beaten on my psp since I bought it and I am so thankful I picked up this game. Amazing is hardly fitting for this game, but I am at a lack of words to describe it any better. I know that based on what I am saying it should have more than an 8.5, but I will explain my reasoning for that. All you need to know is that if you want a heart wrenching story that begs you to know more then go and buy this game. I have rarely been as attached to a protagonist as with this game. The story is a solid 10/10 and I wish I could of had more.

The reason I gave it an 8.5 instead of a 9.0 is that the combat can get repetitive since it is a 12+ hour game. There were times that I really wished I could just walk through an area and not have to deal with any monsters since they were easy to kill; however, there were also countless epic battles that I greatly enjoyed.

Crisis Core: FFVII is an epic game that will grab at your heart with each cut scene. I would recommend this game to anyone with a psp.

I've been following this PS3 exclusive for a while but it was worth the wait.

On the surface, hearing about a game that is basically button presses and watching a story unfold. It wouldn't sound that interesting but i can easily say this is one the best games ever made. It goes up there with long time classics like Super Mario World. You would assume that a game like this would give you less to do there for it gives you less control when its the exact opposite. You control the story, you control if the characters live or die, you control relationships, and you control what type of person the characters develop into. It really is a game like no other. Less is more.

One of the most talked about things are the motion caption mechanics they use in this game. The graphics and movements (both face and body) look so real. Sometimes the characters faces could pass for real people. You can see the muscles in the face move and not look stiff like other games.

The story can be clichè at times but it doesn't really hurt it. You are still on the edge of your sit trying to get the button presses right and trying to figure out what YOU should do. "Do i let him live or die?" "Do i be a good father or be a dead beat dad?" the choice is yours. One of the things that makes this game so unique is theres no way to win or lose. If your character dies the game continues, if all the playable characters die the story concludes. No start over. The story adapts. I will also note that their are much more tense moments and action based button presses than one would think. Its so simple yet so engrossing.

I was looking for excuses to not give this game a ten. I could have said "some of the story is clichèd so i can't give this a ten" but what game isn't clichèd? With so much good in this game it isn't far to give it anything lower.

Mon, 01 Feb 2010 16:55:22 -0800 nightshade869 reviewed MAG for the PlayStation 3... http://www.gamespot.com/mag/user-reviews/705272/platform/ps3/ ...and gave it a 9.0!

I'm not going to lie, I have been following MAG for a long time and it has delivered on all fronts. From gameplay to maps to controls this game is nearly flawless for all it set out to accomplish. MAG boasts 256 players with no lag at all (can you believe that!!!). The best part about MAG is that you acutally feel like you are in a war that matters. You begin the game by choosing you PMC (Raven, Valor, or SVER) and you fight various battles for the overall domination of the global shadow war between the 3 PMC's. Each mission you or anyone undertake affects the shadow war (winning and losing actually matter!!). Once enough wins by a PMC are obtained contracts are awarded for regions of the world where the contract was won. This contract gives in game benefits to the PMC (I didn't lie when I said each game counted).

Now that you have the sense of the general theme of the game here are some more fine tuned details:

Line of Command:
There are 3 lines of command: Commander (of the whole battle), platoon leaders (each platoon is 4, 8 man squads), and the squad leader. Depending on the mission and map size there will be varying amounts of these leaders and the extra abilities awarded to them will change. For example they can call in air strikes and other things (if the enemies anti air are taken down on the ground first).

Communication:
MAG boasts a very nice command system that allows excellent communication within squads and between squads for the leaders to plan and attack.

Customization:
MAG allows you to create the character the way you want it. There aren't preset classes but numerous skills that you unlock (with skill points that you earn as you level up) that you can use to pick and choose for make your character your own. You can also eventually respec your character after you earn enough respec points. What this means is that you lose all the skills you picked, but you get back all the skill points that you previously spent. This allows you to "respec" lol your character if you didn't use some skills you chose before.

Graphics:
Whoever says the graphics are last gen should go home. While it's no killzone 2 or uncharted 2 it definitely holds its own in many regards. For one thing the textures are still better than MW2, even though the character models aren't quite as nice. You will have no problem seeing things, the graphics are great!!!

Controls:
Very well designed

Sound:
DTS....need I say more???

If you are on the edge about buying this game, just go for it. If you at all like FPS and have a broadband connection you should own this title. Zipper did an amazing job and this is a one in a lifetime gem. Never before have I played an online shooter where I felt like my actions on the battlefield made a difference and the I was part of something larger than just running and gunning to get a good K/D. Come and join us in MAG....do you have what it takes?

Thu, 28 Jan 2010 09:57:23 -0800 LeonK54 reviewed Clive Barker's Jericho for the PlayStation 3... http://www.gamespot.com/clive-barkers-jericho/user-reviews/704567/platform/ps3/ ...and gave it a 8.0.

This game is original and very creative. Sadly, its true what they say, This game is also very repetitive.

Even with Clive Baker's input (awesome looking rotted flesh and blood all over the place) he can't stop the level design from repeating it self. Its either inside or outside an old church for 98% of the game. I understand that the game has a lot of religious tones but its so recycled you will often get lost in the game.

The level design doesn't bother me to much because Jericho is still fun, scary and original.

Likes:
-The creatures are very weird and detailed.
-The graphics are nice and polished.
-Digging the religious tones.
-Cool powers.
-Jumping from person to person is fun.
-Gameplay is simple but soild.
-Cool but frustrating boss battles.

Needs Improvement:
-(Obviously) The Level Design.
-Difficulty of the game is uneven, can be easy on some levels and on others very hard.
-BAD check points... They're spread out poorly through levels.
-Can't save Check Points.
-Story is a little incoherent.
-Some teammates die to easy.
-Teammates can be very useful and useless at times, Sometimes they will kill enemies (big and small) and other times its all on you.

Wed, 13 Jan 2010 13:56:35 -0800 LeonK54 reviewed Grand Theft Auto IV for the PlayStation 3... http://www.gamespot.com/grand-theft-auto-iv/user-reviews/702377/platform/ps3/ ...and gave it a 6.0.

This game is good but its far from perfect and the Gamespot reviewer should be ashamed for giving this game a perfect 10!

Some good has come from moving the series to the PS3 but it also lost a lot.

The game started off so boring and bad i was actually thinking about selling the game back to store and rating it a 5.5. It took hours and hours before the story and characters started to develop. This might be because my expectations were through the roof for this game.

The game has a lot of new features and minigames, you can now bowl, go to the bar and get drunk, play darts, and go to a comedy club. Luckily you don't have to do these things because after the first time it gets boring. You have a cell phone in this game, where you get called up for work and get called by friends to go places (which is boring). Having a cell phone is cool, you can buy ringtones and wallpapers which is fun. You can also go on the internet (and date online) which is a lot of fun, checking email and what not. Most of this whole "take out a girl friend/friend" feature is so repetitive its just annoying. You get called up every 5 seconds by "friends" asking to go out to eat (and if you say yes you have pick them up, on time no less, bring them to a place you don't want to go and than bring them all the way back home!), go bowling or some other boring place. The minigames in San Andreas were (at that time) very fun and fresh, now they have staled. However the only good thing is if you take out your friends a couple of times they will give you things, i was to annoyed by this to bring them all out but one person drops your wanted level when you call them which is useful.

The graphics are horrible at times, when the lighting is just right in some cutscenes the characters (and cars) do look amazing though. At times the graphics could pass for PS2. The audio doesn't really have any problems, the delayed audio response is also a lot better. There are a lot of visual glitches (seeing through someones face, car, house.).

Getting to the gameplay. The RAGE Engine took time for me to get used to. I think the game mechanics lost most of the surreal-ness type of atmosphere the previous games had but overall its a great change. They have an improved cover system (they had one in San Andreas..?) in this game making the shooting easier to survive. Overall the gameplay is really repetitive. its always picking someone up and killing someone else. One of the things i don't like is you can't gain weight, lose weight, get different hairstyles, customize cars (which is a shame since the cars are nice looking in this game). One of the things i hate is they dropped the ability to skip through parts of a mission, which loses major points with me. So if you're in a multilayer mission which includes, driving long distances (or taking a cab, which is a nice feature) gunning people down than escaping, if get killed at the end of the mission you have to start ALL OVER AGAIN! Thats right, you need to drive down to mission and everything! No skipping. If it wasn't for taking cabs i would have given up on this game because this game is too long. Speaking of driving thats all you mostly do is drive during and to missions. The driving is so so, not greatly improved.

Getting on to whats good in this game. Niko is a likable guy. Getting driven around in a cab around the detailed city is cool. Watching the funny tv shows is also nice. Some of the GTA humor we are use too is still here and even with the all the games flaws and shortcomings its still worth a rent for hardcore fans of the series.

After RE4, i wanted to buy RE5 but i had my doubts. I never look up much info on games and movies before i play or watch them so I'm surprised, hence the reason why i had my doubts about this game but after about 30 minutes of game play all my doubts were gone. I was worried that it would be the same old zombie fest and i was concerned about having a partner. I loved RE4 so i'm glad they stuck with the same mechanics (Rehashing in this case is a good thing) and storyline. I was also pleased to see some environments similar to RE4.

Here's a synopsis for the game:

"Ten years after the destruction of Raccoon City, former S.T.A.R.S. Alpha team member Chris Redfield is an agent of the B.S.A.A. This paramilitary anti-bio-organic weapon organization travels the globe to seek out and destroy Umbrella's creations, which have fallen into the hands of terrorists following the collapse of the multinational pharmaceutical company. When Chris gets a tip that a known weapons dealer will be making a big deal in the remote African nation of Kijuju, he heads there to put a stop to it and learn what he can about the mysterious doomsday project known only as Uroboros. Chris is joined by Sheva Alomar, a local B.S.A.A. agent, and together they battle wave after wave of infected villagers, horribly mutated monsters, and even series archnemesis Albert Wesker."

This is probably the best looking game i've ever played. RE4 had rich graphics but the visuals in this game are amazing and very detailed as well. The soundtrack is great, adding to the creepy atmosphere.

Your partner is actually useful unlike in most games when the AL makes them into useless zombies. She'll kill people on her own and even help kill bosses. It doesn't hurt that shes hot either.

The only problems i had with this game is this whole Wesker thing is old. In some instances its a nice throw back to the original games but its also gets tiresome. With Leon Kennedy some old characters are revisited but the story is much longer too, leaving room for other new enemies to emerge. You can finish the game in half the time and mainly for that reason i can't give this game a ten but its still an awesome game.

I bought Thrillville for only $7 bucks, i always wanted to buy a roller coaster game. I'm glad i bought this one!

One of the things i love most about this game is its a lot of fun and its appropriate for all ages.

In the game you get to choose a character (a child, young adult, adult, male, female, etc) and you have to run amazement parks that are in bad shape, and buy roller coasters, games, and build your own coasters. As the park manager, you have to see whats wrong with the park by talking to the customers and looking at the park charts. Theres a lot of things to do in this game, aside from building coasters and making sure the people are happy (make sure there are enough of bathrooms!) you get to play the games you buy and ride the roller coasters you build. You also have to make sure all the rides are working, make sure the park is clean, and have an entertainer in your park(s). For this you need to hire (i would suggest more than one of each for every park because the parks are cut off into big sections) a mechanic and make sure the rides are working and you play a little mini game where you fix them. A groundskeeper is also needed to clean up the throw up and suck up the trash around the park, like with the mechanic this is also a mini game thats fun but the controls are as stiff as a board. All of the mini games are fun which range from, trampolines to shooting zones (and not the ones that you shoot at cans either, you play as a character in a first person shooter). Really the only things i think they could have improved would be to make more parks, after 6 or 7 parks the game is over, still hours of game play, the controls are clunky for some of the mini games, you can't make the coasters too high or too fast, more room to build the coasters, and more options for creating the coasters would be good but overall the game is still satisfying.

A nice piece of work that breaths fresh air and opens new doors for the series. Resident Evil 4 is one of the best games I have ever played.

You may look at some of the old RE games as being a little played out, i know i do sometimes, but Resident Evil 4 is the best in the series. It takes a risky move and twists the original zombie outbreak premise but it worked. Leon Kennedy is finally back. The game has new (and more) weapons and more realistic gun play by dropping the auto aim feature.

Like i said, the story takes a chance with the cult storyline instead of the traditional zombie story but i honestly think this is even better and more interesting and even more realistic in some ways as stupid as that may sound. Besides the 25+ hours of gameplay, you also have some side missions you can play through with Ada Wong. They defiantly improved a lot of things, for example, Now you can save without having those annoying ink ribbons and they got rid of the box you can store things in (which is a small loss). You can also continue from a lot of parts so you don't have to worry if you die from a zombie (now brain washed village people with pitchforks, knives, arrows, etc.) you don't have to start over from your last save point, you can continue from a door you recently opened or a bridge you just crossed. The character development is deeper than ever and the story is more engrossing and demanding. For example, In some cutscenes you will have to press two buttons at once to dodge a bullet if some one tries to shoot you, however if you don't, you may die. This gives more depth and challenge to the game. The game makes Leon smarter as well, he can climb more, jump out of windows, knock down ladders so the zombies can't attack you. Its excellent. The boss battles are intense, fast paced, action. The creature designs are weird and creative (and impressive). Surprisingly not as environmentally repetitive as well. There isn't a barrel just sitting around every corner, theres a lot more background and zombie detail. I really have nothing bad to say about this game. Rich storytelling, updated improved gameplay, and lots of replay value make it a fun ride. 10/10

Thu, 19 Nov 2009 08:48:39 -0800 Plaidboy1 reviewed Borderlands for the Xbox 360... http://www.gamespot.com/borderlands/user-reviews/693434/platform/xbox360/ ...and gave it a 8.5.

Borderlands has succeeded in giving us a fun action filled FPS with RPG elements that almost any fan of shooters or action RPGs will enjoy. The first thing you will notice about the game is it's fairly unique cell shaded graphic style. The graphics really help to give it a bit of a different feel and set it apart from it's competing games. One can not help but to compare the game to Bethesda's masterpiece Fallout 3. The comparison is fair and very justified. I would think most fans of Fallout 3 will be at least considering this game. Both take place in a futuristic "apocalyptic" type world. To be fair, Borderlands is a different planet and is not really apocalyptic but rather just run down and sort of just a wasteland of a ruined world. Both games feature the enemies such as psycho bandit raider type humans and both feature bizarre and mutated looking critters to kill. I felt Fallout 3 had a much better character customization system than Borderlands. Borderlands' isn't bad but it isn't as in depth either. Borderlands features 4 different character types to choose from. My main complaint with them is that they all kind of play the same. Certainly some are better with certain guns or skills than others but in the end they all feel like you are playing a FPS. The story in Borderlands is largely forgettable. In fact so much so I feel 2K Games forget to give the game an ending! I would say the ending has to be the biggest let down of any game I've played in a long while. NPC's seem very generic and hardly have any real life to them either. Where the game succeeds is on the action PFS side of things. It is action packed and lot of fun. You will slay hordes of raiders and critters in your quest for the vault. The co-op multi-player is also tons of fun. PVP is much less fun and there are games far better at it than this one. I also enjoyed using the vehicle in the game and running over bad guys seemed more effective and fun than shooting them! To sum it up, if you don't yet own Fallout 3, buy the Game of the Year Edition instead of Borderlands. It's a better game in almost every way except for the lack of multi-player. If you've done and seen all there is to see in Fallout 3, Borderlands should be a buy for you. It will provide hours and hours of fun for you.

Sun, 15 Nov 2009 20:12:03 -0800 SquareEnixFan13 reviewed flOw for the PSP... http://www.gamespot.com/flow/user-reviews/692773/platform/psp/ ...and gave it a 7.0.

In flOw you play as an aquatic micro-organism who's only goal is to eat other organisms and evolve, that's right, there's no good, no bad, no end of the world, no princess that needs saving, there's just flOw.
flOw -if you haven't picked this up yet- is a very unique game, everything in it, the music, graphics, it's simplicity, all form together in a very zen piece of art. The music is very calming, and on the verge of being meditative at times. The graphics are incredibly, colorful? It's hard to explain the graphics for it, but they're quite appropriate for the game to say the least. It's simplicity mainly works as a weakness; the game has literally two functions for your micro-organism thing, you move it around with the joystick, and any other button can be used to activate your "fish's" special ability, which, most of the time these abilities are needed, for example one allows you to go underneath your enemies (farther into the water) making for a good hiding place, and another allows you to attack many of your enemies at once instead of eating just one at a time. Definitely the biggest weakness for flOw is how short the game is, I beat this game in around two hours, it's just too short, any gamer could see that, and after you beat it there isn't much to come back to.
In the end flOw is a quick, simple, and artistic game, that can be recommended to gamers looking for something innovative, but not very substantial to their gamer self. It's like a gamer's snack.
